Had a friend who wanted to see if I could clone Pachamama: The Mint Leaf. I tasted honeydew, kiwi, some green mint, and a pound of sweetener. I'm not a huge fan of sweetener, so I left that out, then I went on to build it with some staples. In the end, this ended up tasting way better than the original.
DESERT DEW
- INW Cactus 1%
- CAP Cool Mint 0.25%
- TFA Honeydew 3%
- FW Kiwi 2.5%
I picked TFA Honeydew since it seemed to be the most popular Honeydew, and it works very well, here. Wet, sweet, accurate to profile, nothing to complain about. But I felt it needed a bit of tart, so in comes INW Cactus.
I tested INW Cactus at 0.75% at first, which was really nice at that level, but it worked so well with everything that a little more definitely couldn't hurt. 1% is amazing. Just meshes everything in your face and you can actually start tasting the Cactus apart from everything.
FW Kiwi is my favorite Kiwi, but if you gravitate more towards FA Kiwi be my guest and try swapping it out and let me know how it goes. At this level, the flavor stays right on par with the Honeydew and they become inseparable.
CAP Cool Mint fit the original mint flavor in Pachamama accurately for me. This wouldn't've worked as well as with a peppermint or straight menthol. IMO it gives off the sort of mint you'd get from a Creme de Menthe chocolate. It's quite potent, so just a few drops suffice. Anything more and it begins to dominate the profile.
This is now in my rotation of favorites, those being Grack Juice, Shinto (another recipe of mine), and Cranberry Sprite.
One of these days I'll subscribe to ATF so I can organize all my recipes.
✅ Looks tasty
✅Uses ingredients I have on hand
Yup, I'll be mixing this this weekend. Thanks for the recipe!
u/ben_gaming with the ill ass green checkmarks :) I dig ittt.
OP I will try this when I get around to grabbing Cap Cool Mint. Nice effort, sounds great.
Somehow I missed the cap cool mint, looks like I'll be delaying this one until after I pick some up.
Steep time? Shake and vape?
Just made 120ml of it and want to know! lmao
smells amazing
SNV for me, but it tends to be best after 2 days when the slight harshness of the kiwi fades away.
Finally got some capella cool mint and just made 30 ml’s of it. This is amazing right off the bat. Refreshing, good taste, and doesn’t smell bad.
👌
Hell yeah, you're my first review on ATF! Really glad you like it, and I hope you try some of the other recipes I've thrown down on there.
Right now I'm on the 5th iteration of a lime-blackcurrant recipe, still not really there yet.
They all sound good, problem is I just bought 15 ish bottles of aroma (none of them are on the list of any of your juices, aside from the cool mint), so that’ll have to wait for another time.
The cactus really does it for me here. It’s damn hot here (heatwave #2 in The Netherlands this summer), and this juice is just cool and juicy enough to keep it bearable. (It ate through my cotton within a few hours, idk why. Maybe the cool mint? I wicked it like I normally do.)
The Netherlands, you say? Beautiful country, got to visit, myself, while I was living Germany, got to see Maastricht.
You may just be able to do me a huge favor, if you're willing.
About 5 or 6 years ago in my early vaping days, I got a bottle of a Jägerbomb flavor from some obscure online shop and it was fucking delicious. I want to try my hand at making my own, only problem is, I can't seem to find anything attempting to resemble a Jägermeister flavor in the US.
I believe I managed to find one on Quickfruit flavors, a German flavor manufacturer (this one here), although my German is ok, it's difficult to really be certain if this is a Jäger flavor, but it's listed in the alcohols and it has the same Jäger look to it.
Problem is they don't do international shipping so it's out of my reach. I can pay back all costs associated with purchase and getting it to Colorado if you're able to order from them.
Otherwise, they're definitely worth checking out. They have a ton of obscure flavors I've never seen anywhere else.
I adore the original pacha mama mint leaf, and have gone through liters of it. I mixed up a 30 of this and I would say while very good, this is more "inspired by pacha mama mint leaf" than a full clone. For one thing this is missing the mixed berry flavor of the original. (And for another, it is completely devoid of the unpleasant chalky texture I sometimes get from the original.)
Even though I am almost completely strawberry-blind and have trouble tasting many of the "berry" flavors, I thought the missing berry note was significant and I miss it in the overall profile. Perhaps once I supplement my flavor stash with some berries beyond tfa strawberry and strawberry ripe I'll take a crack at adding that missing note. In the meantime I'll keep this in my rotation for sure.
You could try mixing with FA Forest Fruit or CAP Harvest Berry, one of those might hit it.
Picked up some FA Forest Fruits on a recent order and mixed up a batch with an additional 1.5% FA FF added. Closer and I think the profile is close to that missing berry note, but somehow the berry throws the kiwi/melon balance off and the honeydew takes over, while simultaneously muting the mint to some degree. Next mixing session I'll mix up a couple of other spins with varying adjustments to the ratios and see if I can dial in a little closer.
Overall I'm enjoying both the original and my new spin more than the commercial product, I think mostly because neither of these versions pick up the dry chalky note I often get as an aftertaste/after-effect from the commercial stuff, but also the absence of the sweetener.
