Peppery Taste

Does the peppery taste that comes from TFA vanilla flavors fade out over steep time?

No. If you're a TFA pepper taster, you're going to have to try to make an alternative flavour or combination work for you. That's a bit of a bugger with VBIC since most of the others have a very different character - TFA VBIC is very "grocery store brand ice ~~cream~~ milk", where the others tend to be "premium brand ice cream"; they're deeper, heavier and have a thicker mouth feel. You'd need to thin them out a bit with other creamy things. The problem being that the other creamy things depend on what other flavourings you're pairing with.

On t'other hand, any TFA VBIC you have to hand will still work well with mints - it just enhances the mint a bit, and fits in perfectly.

I was a pepper taster, and after a few months, that peppery taste vanished. It was a vape miracle!

I have been mixing for two years now. At the beginning, TFA VBIC tasted like pepper on any recipe. No anymore. But I still smell pepper on TFA vanilla bean ice cream, TFA Vanilla custard, and TFA white chocolate, if smelling directly from the bottle. The first recipe in which I could stand it was Cliche by u/skiddzninja. It kinda blended well with the berries, IDK. I don't taste the pepperyness anymore, on any other combinations, thankfully.

I was meaning to ask the same question as OP. I tried to make green tea ice cream today, and TFA Green Tea mixed with TFA VBIC was perfect but peppery. I tried substituting CAP VBIC, and it just wasn't the same. I put the bottle with TFA VBIC aside, hoping the peppery taste might go away with steeping, but I guess I'll just dump it. I have no idea what CAP VBIC needs to make it taste like TFA VBIC in that recipe.

Can I see your recipe? As for the pepper have you tried the LB Vanilla Ice Cream & TFA Vanilla Swirl combo? Also FLV Eisai Tea for Macha?

It's not really a recipe, just 4% TFA Green Tea and 4% TFA VBIC.

LB Vanilla Ice Cream sounds good. Their shipping to Canada is a bit expensive though. I don't know enough about their other flavours to place a big enough order to be worth shipping up here.

Does TFA Vanilla Swirl also taste like pepper? I've read that it's common with TFA vanilla flavours, but there are exceptions (French Vanilla Deluxe is one I think?).

I've had FLV Eisai tea on my wish list for a while. I'm just waiting for my regular vendor to get it back in stock. I think TFA Green Tea has a pretty good matcha taste at 4%, but I would like to try Eisai Tea as well.

Unfortunately not and it's also in most TFA vanilla type flavors to some point, especially the VBIC and Vanilla Custard. IMO LB Vanilla Ice Cream is better anyway and will not give as much pepper, not will CAP VBIC or FW VBIC.

This is my thread on TFA VBIC.

What is actually crazy is that after a few months, my taste buds changed and I could taste delicious vanilla ice cream....

If you want to pick between capella and FW VBIC, go with flavorwest.

I second this. Flavor Wests version is quite nice.

Only thing that comes to mind when I hear peppery with juice is aerated nicotine. Add nicotine after you shake/stir then steep.

It's pretty common for some people to taste black pepper from TFA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream and Vanilla Custard among others. Just search "pepper" in the sub and you'll see countless examples.

thats not the case. you can make it without nic and get the pepper taste. It has to do with the compound that TFA uses for the vanilla flavour.
