I'm sick of every juice I have, commercial or DIY. I mix up new recipes and I'm bored of it after a few drags. Everything seems dull and boring. How do I like reset my palette to enjoy vaping again?
I'm lucky if I can vape on a recipe for a few months. But eventually EVERYTHING gets played out for me. I get sick of it and it's on to the next thing. I have to constantly search or experiment. I envy those people who make the same shit all the time in giant containers and are happy.
I'm the latter but I only like 1 flavour and that's it. I can vape it for months (havent got sick of it yet) but only that one. Everything else tastes disgusting to me and makes me hate vaping. So it's a double edged sword :(
What's your flavor? Just curious. I'm a INW Mix Mint 24/7 person.
I havent tried that brand but I'm a mint girl too! I had one custom made for me that uses spearmint and peppermint I think. Not too much menthol, just minty like chewing gum. Nothing else does the trick! I'm going to start making my own soon as my supplies arrive!
Try a profile you've never tried. If you've never gone floral, try a floral recipe for a while. Or tobacco. Or beverage. Or....
I recently tried a recipe called goofys juice I think? It had an Ry4 in it and I'm interested in exploring tobacco a bit more. I know an RY4 is skimming the surface but it intrigued me. Any suggestions?
And a little self-promotion
The FLV concentrates are a little more pricey than others but absolutely worth it. Red Burley at 3% is an ADV for me. The first three are excellent examples of authentic tobaccos, the RYDark is (imo) a very legit ry4, rather than dirty caramel and nuts like most.
You could try multiple RDA's. I always have 5 loaded and ready to go with very different flavor profiles. I usually have my RDA's loaded with -> mint, fruit/candy, spice/nut, bakery, tobacco, and/or cream/custard. That way I can (and do) switch flavors several times a day.
Can vouch for this, only I'm using 5 different RTA:
- Berserker tobacco
- Doggy tobacco/cherry, mint
- Siren v2 pastry fruit
- Serpent SMM fruits, candy,
- Wasp nano everything except tobacco
these give best/most accurate flavor profiles for me, and my humble collection
Try fiddling with your gear a bit, go back to the basics round wire 0.6ohm @ 30w in either a rda or rta, plenty of liquid.
On the other hand resetting receptors is always a good idea, also hygiene
TOUNGE SCRAPER. Sorry about the caps but all vapers get this to some level, get a scraper and the difference is insane & food aswell
Good advice, get that built-up film off your taste buds. Also, taking a sip of water then working your tongue back and forth against the roof of your mouth, then taking a couple of good swallows to finish off.
Most of tasting is actually the sense of smell. Some people (me included) are helped with a neti pot.
You basically just need to get away from the flavor. The same thing that happens when you 're in a room that smells bad, but after about 5 mins you cant smell it anymore is whats happening there, but with vaping, its more like living in the smelly room... after so long, you wont notice the smell when you come home from work, but if you go on vacation for a week, you'll notice the smell when you come home. If you're a chain vaper, try to stop chaining your drags. I always try to limit myself to 5 minute sessions once an hour and then maybe the occasional puff in between. Making that change would give your palette time to reset as opposed to constantly throwing the same stimuli at it and your brain tuning it out.
I’m using mentol at the moment. Got bored from sweet fruity creamy juice.
I too have found vaping a menthol juice for several days on end to be a great way of resetting my taste buds. Then I have to stop menthol juice for a while as I get sick of it.
switching from cotton to rayon44130, switching from a1k to ss316l-300, using tc and turning my vape temps down all helped with flavor fatigue for me.
I had not even heard of rayon now I’m off to buy some
There is literally one flavor that I don't tire of and it's in my username. There are plenty of other flavors and recipes I like, but nothing else I can vape for long stints, and certainly not all day and night like Mix Mint. I don't know why. I'm happy that I have one, though!
The standard advice for "vaper's tongue" (not being able to taste) is to try unflavored or menthol for a while, and to drink more water.. but I don't know if that's the problem you're having. Maybe it's similar?
Sounds like a possible gear issue - what's your setup?
I rock an aegis legend, and a pulse 90 w BF for my mods. I rotate between a profile rda, dead rabbit rda, skx hadaly clone, skx citadel clone, recurve rda, and a blitzen RTA. Also have a berserker rta but never fell in love with it. I also have an aspire breeze 2 pod system I use for stealth.

Right now I'm mainly rocking the aegis/profile, and pulse/citadel
