This thread is for you to share what you are vaping lately, be it your own or another mixers recipe. Maybe you happened to stumble upon your new ADV in the February Recipes Thread? Or did someone recommend your first mix to you in the Suggest a recipe for my flavors Thread

Share what you liked or didn't like too much, but most importantly, please make sure to properly link to the recipe and to the mixer if they're on reddit.

If you need some inspiration, some websites keep track of your mixes and batches: e-Liquid Recipes and All The Flavors.

Also make sure to checkout last week's thread for inspiration or to follow up on a mix that turned out even better after a week of steeping!

Been vaping a butterscotch cornbread pudding I'm working on. I'm still on the first iteration of it but it's quite tasty so far so I might be posting it over on the recipe thread soon! In my other setup I got some Cap'n Burgandy's First Mate from /u/alfredpudding Man that's some tasty stuff!

Just mixed up something called Double Mango Crack which is delicious and amazing and everything I've been looking for in a mango juice

Edited to add recipe, courtesy of one of the guys from ECiggSA

6% Sweet Mango (CAP) 2% Dragon Fruit (TFA) 1% Fuji Apple (FA) 1% Ethyl Maltol (TFA) 0.5% Papaya (TFA) 0.5% Cactus (INW)

If you can lay your hands on Cloud Burst Effects Double Mango, the recipe changes a bit. It is the single best mango concentrate ever. It's Malaysian. Even without it though, it's still a great mango juice

CBE/FSA Double Mango 5.0 % TFA Dragonfruit 2.0 % CAP Sweet Mango 1.0 % FA Fuji Apple 1.0 % TFA Papaya 0.5 % INW Cactus 0.5 %

My first Centaur RTA I received was defective/crooked, so they sent me another one and it's working great. I loaded it up with True Cherry to give it a shot and I'm quite enjoying it even though I had to sub TFA Pineapple with CAP since mine went bad. Yesterday I also discovered that my TPA Pear has gone bad as well (11 months old), and guess what was in the True Cherry? I'll have to remix this one and retest it.

Now the real question is, does this taste like cherry even though there is no cherry concentrate in there? I'm leaning heavily towards the yes on this one. I think I'll enjoy playing around with TPA Plum. It does seem to fall a little on the floral side so I'm thinking this would pair very nicely with Cherry Blossom and a touch of FA Black Cherry.

I also have Waterberry loaded up in the RSQ/Nudge22 and I'm really struggling to get through the 30ml sample. I've decided that FLV Watermelon is just another shit FLV flavor (last week I vaped Water Malone). While is tastes fairly "authentic" it is thin, dry, and weak, although not as weak as FLV Wild Melon, another expensive overhyped flavor that is weaker than CAP/TFA stuff. I've got Fitz's all steeped and ready to load up. If I don't like Flavorah's root beer then that will be the end of Flavorah hype train for me. I know this will be an unpopular opinion in these parts but I own about 10 Flavorah concentrates now and I have a strong dislike for all of them except Cream and Rich Cinnamon. I wish they weren't so expensive to try out. INW FTW. Actually I just remember I really like their Peanut Butter too but a lot of their stuff is just terrible. Maybe my taste buds are broken.

Taste buds not broken. You like what you like. I happen to love wild melon. Got it on one of my first orders before I knew what flv Reddit and the like were. I personally didn’t like flv root beer and was pretty disappointed. Maybe adjust your expectations and just approach the flavors as they are. I think flavors aren’t ‘good’ or ‘bad’ but rather are easy or more difficult to work with.

I’ve everal times had someone use a flavor I ‘hated’ in a way that really brought a mix to life. I’m just not going to do that work quite yet to figure out how now that I have enough go to’s.

I consider some flavors bad if they have a glaring defect off-note such as waxiness, petrol, pine, perfume, etc, if they are super weak, or don't taste like what is on the label (FLV mango = pine tree air freshener). Sometimes they can be worked around but I usually don't bother since there are usually better options available.

You are right about managing my own expectations though. I get too excited about how awesome flavor X is, I finally get it (sometimes years after the hype), and then am let down when I taste some glaring defect that nobody else talked about. For me lately it's almost always a Flavorah flavor though. Like FLV Creme De Menthe. Everyone raves about it but to me it tastes like a 5 year old waxy knock-off Andes mint from a budget steakhouse, or a dollar-store easter chocolate with 1% real chocolate, and 99% wax filler.

Once in a while the opposite happens. I get a new flavor, just because, or for a certain recipe, and go in without anticipation. Then I try it and it just blows my mind how good it is. This just happened to me with INW Shisha Gingerbread. I'll have to do more SFT with this one and try to write a flavor review.

Buy yeah, I think you nailed it. The problem isn't broken tastebuds, shitty equipment, or crappy flavors - it's unrealistic expectations. Good call.

Taste is crazy, right? I mean I just love that scene in ratatouille where they guy gets snapped back to childhood. It’s crazy when it sneaks up on you. I try to keep an open mind and actually will often not label mixes just to see what the hell I really think about the taste. Usually only with 1-3 flavor mixes. I like those the most because I lose my thinking and just listen to my entire vaping sensational experience.

Case in point: I heard so much about flv tatanka. I mixed a test and vaped it. Was like, wtf is the hype? Put it down and left it. Weeks later I mixed a mtl single flavor at 2% and just vaped it exclusively. After about a day or two, I was fiending for that bottle like, where the fuck is my tatanka?!? At that point I had no expectations but was relying solely on the experience. Now I get the hype. Because I had that experience with it.

Man I love flv creme de menthe. I hope you mix in some fa cookie and some jf biscuit and dollop in a hint of chocolate and go to flavor town. If not, I know someone who will take that bottle off your hands!

Just pulled out some Viserion I made a few weeks ago. I wish I had mixed up more than a 30. I'm almost out and it needs at least a week to steep. It really shines after three.

2 points

by ID10-Tover 6 years agoThe Kingmaker

Thank you for being patient with it. That’s the trouble with that one, it really needs that steep and nobody seems to have time for anything that’s not S&V these days

2 points

by ReaperNullover 6 years ago

I'll usually mix it up along with some S&V so I have something to vape while I wait.

by mpontiffover 6 years ago

I just mixed some a few days ago and after hearing this, I'm looking forward even more to trying it for the first time. I originally made only a 60 but after thinking on the suggested three weeks, made another 120.

I'm making a couple of 60s this weekend, and plan on letting them steep until Fat Tuesday for some Mardi Gras vaping.

Has anyone ever smelled Teint de Neige by Lorenzo Villoresi (perfume)? INW Purple Rain tastes exactly like that smells. Like extremely expensive baby powder or baby oil. It's not unpleasant but I wore that perfume for a long time and I don't know if this is the juice for me. It's good! But it tastes like expensive baby oil.

As always, also Mix Minting it up. And will make an Elixir M today. since we have been graciously given the recipe.

And I have a 4-5 black teas and a red tea blooming; I meant to use them the week we did tea here, but I had a family emergency and didn't get to. SO I'll use those this week.

Been playing around with tfa red oak lately. I love Woody, barrel aged things.

Added that, a little flv bourbon and tfa toasted marshmallow to some cap vanilla custard.

Mixed it yesterday, and it's all I'm wanting to suck down today. I need to hide it from myself so it can steep properly!

Not sure how red oak compares to FA oakwood but this recipe is amazing if it's similar Glenfarne - A SthrnMixer Original

As usual, lots of stuff, mostly trying older recipes I missed. I’ve vaped more than my share of macarons recently: Rhodonite by u/enyawreklaw, Mango Blossom Macaron by u/id10-T, and a blueberry macaron using id10-t’s macaron base that I’ve been trying with different combinations and quantities of blueberry flavorings (still trying to find the right balance). I can’t recommend the first two strongly enough if you haven’t tried these classics yet.

As a relative newcomer to DIY, I frequently come up with what i think are great concepts for a unique juice profile, then discover that someone else has already done it way better than I would have managed. Such is the case with u/id10-t’s Snickerdoodle Cookie, which perfectly captures the essence and balance of the sugary cinnamon cookie. I’m glad he had this idea before I got in the game, because he nailed it.

Tropicana has a fair amount in common with the “orange” juice, which is to say, it’s a sweet and bright orange-like profile that doesn’t have any real orange. i don’t think this is intended to reproduce the OJ flavor, though; this has much stronger tropical fruit notes, which is a good thing. It’s a well-rounded blend of peach and mango and papaya that tastes kind of like one of those orange-colored tropical fruit juice blends you might find at the supermarket. Personally, I love those things, so this hits a sweet spot for me.

So far I’ve just been trying the classic trinity. Maybe I just need to try one of those newfangled blueberries from the blueberry week review, we’ll find out when my next order arrives.

I did similar about 6 months ago or more using FLV blueberry and Cap blueberry jam! Was pretty good but easy to go over board with the stronger fruits!

2 points

by ID10-Tover 6 years agoThe Kingmaker

Any chance you were just using too much blueberry trinity? Also, try taking Bilberry out of the trinity and replacing it with a tiny amount of lemon.

by TheBorgerKingover 6 years ago

It is! Or it can be. Your macaroon base was a revelation. I made 3 of my own attempts around that; raspberry, mango and blueberry.

Mayan milk

Best chocolate milk or any chocolate I've tried , most of them are pretty gross. But Mayan milk is very close to a Hershey's syrup in milk.

It does need a good 2 week steep though. Good thing I mixed a 150 of it. Definitely gonna make some more.

123 ding a ling

1% Flavorah sour apple

2% Fa Juicy strawberry

3% Flavorah Watermelon

Combining 2 of Id10t 's most famous or infamous creations gave me quite a nice juice. It's Juicy , a bit sour and one of my favorite fruit mixes lately.

Need about 24hrs for the sour apple to calm down , if you like it strong you could s&v. I like about .5% super sweet.

by Philosaphuckerover 6 years agoWinner: Best Recipe of 2016 - Grack Juice

My wife asked me to make a juice, but refused to tell me what mix/profile she wanted. In my frustration, I whipped up some pretty generic shit that is easy to be enjoyed by the fruit-loving types among us. It turned out pretty well:
LA Watermelon - 3%
INW Shisha Strawberry - 2%
FA Papaya - 0.75%
INW Cactus - 0.5%
Snv, as you may imagine.

About to finish holy nilla rillo. Overall its a decent recipe. The Holy diyfs isn't very strong, the cured tobacco still shines through, and I haven't had the original sweet leaf (yet), but it's not so bad. Slightly sweeter, more vanilla cigar flavor, but the vanilla isn't very strong. Like it's only noticeable if you notice it. Idk if that makes sense. https://alltheflavors.com/recipes/51197

I just got my vape stuff to another location where I can mix, so I'm very excited to make 007 cola and watermalone!

Banana Nut Bread

Except I substituted Bavarian Cream (TPA) with Bavarian Cream (FA). I hate it. I can't wait until I am out. I made 120ml of it. I have about 30 to go.

2 points

by MasterBeernutsover 6 years agoMixologist

If you like the profile but hate that recipe - you could think about these changes:

  • Lower the banana nut bread from 10% to 3-4%
  • Strengthen the banana with 1-2% VT Banana Custard or FA Banana or WF Banana Puree
  • Change the TFA Caramel to FA/FLV Caramel (or even FW Butterscotch Ripple)
  • Sub out the Bavarian Cream for FA Fresh Cream / FLV Cream / OoO Milky Undertones
  • The TFA Oatmeal Cookie can be a difficult one - it can turn weird. I'd sub it for something like VT Carrot Cake.
  • I'd change from TFA Vanilla Swirl to a darker vanilla like DFS Holy Vanilla or FA Vanilla Bourbon.

An earlier version of Hurricane by Developed that has just half a percent more WF Passion Fruit than the published version.

I think it could use a little sweetener. It could also use a little Polar Blast. Or a little WS-23, except that then it would need more Light Rum because WS-23 is unkind to boozy top notes. And then that would probably through the whole thing off balance. Sigh.

As we enter the weekend, I'm finishing up a 120ml of Blue Cheese. I have another bottle made in the cabinet, but for scientific reasons I'm going to let it steep out for a full 30 days before I crack into that one. I'll probably whip up some Guava Dragonfruit before the night is through. I also made up a 30ml of Buttery Sugar Cookie that has to sit for a few more days. I definitely get some pepper from the CAP Vanilla Custard, but I'm hoping that the other flavors will cancel it out with the steep. We shall see and I'll probably vape it all regardless because it smells defuckinglicious.

TNT Ice by Time Bomb Clone

4.5% TFA Juicy Peach 8% CAP Double Apple 6% CAP Sweet Strawberry 1% Citric Acid (10%) .5% FW Menthol .5% WS-23 (30%)

I can’t speak as to how it compares to the real thing but I’m really digging this recipe and just mixed up my 2nd 120ml batch.
