Hey guys, for the past 6 months I have been using 2 recipes in my rotation, but i got bored. Its Castle Long Clone and Obsidian. Very good recipes, but i am ready to try something new. There isnt much of a database when it comes to MTL recipes, since the majority of people are using DL setups.
What I would kindly ask you is to recommend me one or more recipes that you have tried and loved as an ADV, but at the same time it has to be good when experienced in an MTL setup.
I dont really care about profiles, since I like everything from tobaccos, pipes all the way to deserts, biscuits, etc. Much much appreciated.
Hey! I always MTL at low power.
Despite what I assumed at first, I actually usually end up dropping the percentages AFTER I try a recipe first as it was written. I think this is just the trend when I started mixing--people started trying to use the least amount possible for whatever reason.
My point is, don't get hung up on it at all, try recipes you like as written. You may find you need to beef it up, or you may find that you can halve it, or you may find it perfect.
Also, everyone complains about the site that I'm about to link, saying it's full of bunk recipes and the percentages are way too high, blah blah. If you have any discernment at all, you can quickly figure out what's good, and since it was most popular in the MTL era, the recipes may be perfect for you:

I use this site WAY more than ATF, which is the current favorite. I suggest checking the recipes of a very talented mixer called Head in Clouds; he posts on Vaping Underground and has his own site but you can find many on ELR. Also ID10t, cheeba steeba, kopel, any many others who are lucky I forgot them because I would only mangle their spelling too.
For MTL, just make any recipe - and you can beef it up if it needs it. It's personal preference but I usually multiply all the ingredients of my DTL recipes by 1.25 for MTL.
You mean up by 1.25 ml or bump 25% on every single percentage? Sorry for the confusion.
Normally 25 to 33 percent.
I keep tobaccos and fruits with coolant in my mtl setups. Do you like those profiles?
Yes, i preffer tobaccos to fruits though.
ok, then i think you have quite a few options.

dark to light:
Brigade - just the world's most solid tobacco vape imo. it's a perfect adv for tobacco because it is rich and satisfying and complex but not overly so.
Gold - a phenomenal mtl vape. I'd only dtl vaped it until recently. in an mtl setup i think it really blew my mind.
Cabin - one of my favorite mtl vapes. so so so satisfying. Not a tobacco vape. but it IS incredible. and i felt it was perfect in mtl. it does need a very short steep, maybe three days min. totally vapable snv but the magic starts day three and the butterfly emerges by day 7. great excuse for apple filling price tag. well worth it.

that's a start. but i have been playing with stixx mixx in a rebuildable tank and, if you are cool with wicking on the go, give it a try. the flavors are heftily priced but produce solid stand alone vapes that are satisfying. I'd also consider black cherry for pipe as it's a little wonky but does some nice stuff mtl imo.
Worth mentioning is Sweet leaf if just for its ability to work as a base/starting point for exploring.
i'd also add maybe the southerner even though i feel it loses a fair amount mtl at least to me, it also might eliminate the need to pick up lovage at the same time. also, you'd end up with most of the heavy hitters with this one. you maybe could even leave out the bourbon entirely ( i personally can't pick it out mtl), replace it with something more distinct if you like (vanilla, hhgry4x2, M&H?) or mess around with whatever you have. If anything, they're ideas of where to start mixing, shopping, and potential for profiles.
or just get flv native and vape it solo at 2-3% and call it a day.
After reading your post, the Gold recipe immediatly caught my eye because I absolutly love Gold Ducat. I think its the best tobacco / pipe flavor in the right recipe. The problem is that I cant seem to find Inawera Classic for Pipe Gold on any website in the UK. Thank you for the long post, i will have a more in depth look at the other recipes you posted as well.
strawberry haze my wife loves this one..
