Too much? Oh my sweet summer child, this is just the beginning.
I'm up to 60 flavors now and always have a gallon each of VG and PG on hand, as well as a 240ml bottle of 100mg nicotine.
WOAH! :O looks like I'm good here then.
You can have hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of em - and still not have enough.
Hehe yup.. A litre of vg/pg, 500ml of 100mg, 60+ concentrates, bags of 50 new 30ml hdpe bottles, syringes of various volumes and blunt needles of various gauges, and a roll of BOPP labels to label them with the flavour name/concentration/nicotine warnings (I don't sell commercially, just for my own identification).
How many vapers? I'd wager since this this the DIY sub, you'd probably get the majority of commenters here saying they do in fact mix juice.
I'd recommend finding actual recipes before choosing your flavors though. It sounds like you picked those at random, and we don't want you starting off without being able to make multiple good mixes.
I couldn't agree more. I'm new to mixing and my first order was not really random as I had researched all the flavors but they didn't go well together. Had to order again after two weeks and this time I picked out a few simple 2 or 3 ingredient recipes and bought everything I needed to make them. The jump in juice quality was immense and the same happened when I got my precision scale.
I don't post often, but at this point I only DIY due to cost and knowing what's going into my stuff. I mix in 500ml and 1000ml batches staggered out for different steep times.
Be careful this hobby is slippery slope. ;p
I'm about to dive in! I wonder if I can make a juice that tastes just like weed?
It would depend on the strain. And it would be time consuming, as you'd need to test multiple terpenes...
When you find something you really like, its easy to vape 20-25 ml liquid a day so yeah its never enough.
25 ml a day??? Holy shit
If you're using a dual coil RDA or running one of the mesh based subohm tanks, you go through more juice than if you're refilling pods.
I have a single coil rda and I thought I was going through my juice fast at 4-6 ml daily. 10ml maybe if I have no work to do and I'm just binging Punisher season 2 all day. 25ml just seems insane to a peasant like me. I used to do 2-4ml a day when I used a tank.
I own..i think,, probably about 200 flavors, few gallons of vg/pg and a few hundred ml of nicotine. nah, too much is never enough. (coconut extra goes a long way, and..not sure what recipe sweet potatoe is gonna go in with those other flavors but i'd get a little more general flavors like juicy peach tfa or golden pineapple cap, Sweet potatoe/taro/tiramisu seems like an odd flavor to get for a first time mixer. welcome to ze thunderdome
Personally, I was thinking that you have enough to make liquid for about 2 weeks. You also have to have time for it to steep.
for 2 weeks?! here I was thinking this would last me at least a year! haha! and yes most of the recipes I want to make are pastries so they require quite a bit of steeping.
Honestly I never steep my recipes. I diy everything I vape simply because I don't use any sweetener. Commercial stuff causes too much gunk.
Once every two weeks i mix two 140s. Use a scale. It's way easier. And get bottle spouts. I can mix a 140 in five minutes. Don't even really need to weigh the vg. Calculate weights needed, put in the base, pg, and flavouring. Fill the 140 with vg. More often than not the vg lands on the target weight perfectly. And if it's off a bit it really doesn't affect anything too much. Instead of 3mg/ml you may end up with 2.98 mg per ml. I don't care.
500+flavours. Fun fact, still vape the same one recipe about 85% of the time lol. But I still enjoy mixing and trying new things. The excessive amount of flavours I consider a hobby, not at all a necessity. I could restrict myself to only using around 25 flavours for my actual vaping needs.
Im kind of the same, been mixing a year and a half. Over 500 flavors, aleast a liter of 100mg nic in the freezer (At all times), gallons of VG/PG in my basement, and I like tasting new flavors. I go through phases of vaping nothing but single flavors to see how they taste. There's no such thing as an ADV for me though.I try recipes but get sick of most of them quickly.
I remember watching Wayne aka DYIEORDIE aka ENYAWREKLAW interviewing the owner of Flavourah, he says that 90% of their flavour sales are to commercial juices, and 10% DYI. I think it gives a good hint on how big/small the DYI community is. Link to the interview.
Personally I started around 6 months ago, and I own around 70 flavourings. Thanks to this awesome community it has become one of my biggest hobbies recently, I always look for recipies and new flavourings that can be used in different combinations.
Too much? No. Too little? Depends on you!
I buy my PG in 500ml sizes, VG in 4 Gallon amounts and flavors in 4oz size. My mixing/storage bottles are 500ml. I have almost 2 dozen flavors and over a dozen mixes ready to use at all times. My nic is 500ml size and 100% PG. I also use liquid Stevia. And just to round things out, I keep a fresh bottle of Apple Cider vinegar around to smooth things out.
I remember my first DIY order like it was yesterday, and it was like three times the size of your so dont sweat it. Give it a week and you'll have found a dozen recipes that you really want to make that you're only missing one or two flavors for. That's when your DIY journey truly begins.
My usual order to make a batch of all my juices is
3L vegetable glycering
liquid barn blue raspberry 50ml
capella super sweet 30
liquid barn sour 10ml
Capella blueberry 16.25ml
capellas vanilla v2 custard 10ml
Tfa Berry crunch 30ml
Cap Sweet cream 22.5ml
Cap Sweet Strawberry 10ml
Cap fresh cream 37.5ml
Cap Bavarian creme 11.25ml
Fa Forest mix 40ml
TFA Marshmallow 23.75ml
Fruit Circles (TFA) - 15ml
citrus punch TFA 35ml
Blueberry extra TFA 17.5ml
key lime TFA 10ml
Cupcake batter- flavorah- 22.5
Blueberry muffin- flavorah- 10ml
Butter- FA- 10ml
Cake (yellow)- FW- 7.5ml
Maple syrup- FA- 2ml
Billberry- FA- 1.25ml
Plus whatever crap I'm buying for stuff that's not my big batch staple juices. And I currently have 1l of nic in my freezer
Brands make a big difference. Two strawberry flavors can be different if made by different brands. Fruits are easy imo when you first start out. I recommend blending two or three fruits at first. It’s also way easier to make simpler 3 or 4 flavor mixes than 6 or 7 flavor mixes
I just started DIY juice about 8 months ago and haven't bought commercial juice since. I started slow with flavors I thought would go good with my type of profiles. My juice cabinet has now grown to about 75 flavors, just scratching the service so far, IMO. Pallettes change and you'll also find recipes where your like "what, why would you put (*******) in there" but you'll be pleasantly surprised with the results. I quit smoking over 4 years ago through vaping and now it's my hobby.....collecting hardware, mixing and building coils.
Get Flv wild melon instead of honeydew. I'd reccomend extracts that serve as one shot extracts. Harvest berry is a blend of berries that's quite delicious. Vanilla bean ice cream is a good choice. I would remove coconut, tiramisu and sweet potato extract and add INW cactus. Capella sweet strawberry and sweet mango are two you should choose. I'd drop blueberry for a berry mix. Seriously consider one shot extracts. FW cookies n cream is probably the second best cream profile I've ever tried.
I make my own juice because I'm too broke to afford $20 bottles. I. VAPE. TOO. MUCH.
I recommend using a 1cc syringes (you can buy them without the needles). I use it to measure the amount of flavor per bottles. Makes life easier.
Get a scale and measure by weight.
I would, if I made massive amount of juice at a time.
