TFA Banana Nut Bread
submitted over 6 years ago by demisoneWTF is a "Terpene?"

Disclaimer: I'm still new into vaping/DIY/public flavour reviews but I have studied a lot of them and have done 10+ (private) single flavour testings on my own.

Setup: 1) Wotofo Profile RDA with mesh and wotofo cotton at 50W 2) Vaporesso Guardian with 0.5Ω SS ceramic coil, TCR (35W limit, 240 C)

Testing: 7%, 50/50 VG/PG, 3mg nic, steeped 7 days.

Flavour description: A soft bakery with the classic fake banana taste that you have used in banana frostings or the taste of a super ripe/sweet banana (yeah, almost of black colour). The bakery part comes mostly out during the exhale, during the inhale it is mostly banana. Hidden between the bakery and the banana are some nuts, some sugar and a slight alcohol accent. On the sweet side (7/10) and with enough moisture (7/10).

Off-flavors: The initial impression of the flavour is melon/cantaloupe but if you really put in your mind the idea of a banana nut bread then you focus back. Still, in my opinion it is there.

Throat Hit: Pretty low at this percentage (3/10).

Uses: I have a hard time not imagining this being the main ingredient of a recipe with "enchantments" - it has a pretty wide flavour palette. Alternatively it could a banana enhancer in a recipe with other more fruit centric bananas.

Pairings: More nuts, more alcohol (rum, whiskey), more bakery (cookies, crusts, etc), other buttery flavours and sugar. It would be probably also interesting to try to pair with tobaccos.

Notes: It is probably soft at 6% for a totally stand-alone flavour.

Rating: 4/5. Could be 3+ and could be 5- because on one hand I find it interesting and flavourful but on the other hand (and due to the lack of experience from my side) I find it hard to imagine how I would use it as a raw ingredient in a recipe that I would create.

I don't think TFA has a Butterscotch Ripple. I'm assuming you meant FW?

I'll have to try this again because it is one of the few flavours I have got around to trying alone. I was pretty disappointed in it, I've heard so many times that it's great as a single flavour but the one time I mixed it alone the only thing I got from it was a slight nail polish taste.

How long did you let it steep? That was exactly my experience until I let it steep for a week. That chemical taste goes away.

I gave it a week or two I think but I feel like it deserves another try

I actually have used this flavor and have a recipe I made with TFA Banana Nut Bread as the primary ingredient steeping right now. One thing I noticed is a chemical taste unless it has steeped for a minimum of 7 days.

The recipe I have made with it is listed here: Banana Nut Bread

I like BNB but I think it's better as a supporting flavor when paired with other bananas.

Here's my favorite recipe with it, Perfect Banana Cream Pie by /u/bigbadblyons.

This is really good, I used Cap Chocolate Glazed instead of regular glazed and it made it even better.

I mixed up some of this as a single flavor when I got my first diy order. I remember liking it (at roughly 6%). I just sort of sat it aside and forgot about it for the longest time. I should dig out that bottle and vape some now after roughly 4 months steep time. Ha.

I remember wanting to use it as a base for a recipe, but I never really got anything done at the time. Got more flavors now, I would have a whirl at it. Gonna mix up some more to refresh my memory when I get my upcoming VG restock.

I absolutely love TFA BNB, from a "single flavor" you get so much stuff going on there. I've mixed many simple recipes with BNB + 2 or 3 other flavors and IMO it is also very forgiving even at high percentages.
