Berry taffy

30/70 vg/pg ratio, 6mg nic Blackberry (cap) at 3% Blueberry candy (TPA) at 4.5% Taffy base (sc) (real flavors) at 2%

Day 1, little harsh, not many fruit flavors coming out overwhelming taffiness.

Day 2, didn’t try it.

Day 3, must softer, more fruit flavors coming out, not much of a defined blueberry/blackberry taste though.

Day 4, almost a creamy mouthfeel, subtle taffy taste and some good berry blend action.

If I were to make this again I would add just a touch of sweetener (.5%-1%) because it’s not a sweet taffy candy flavor like I was expecting. I would also bump the blueberry up to 5% and maybe play with the pg/vg ratio a bit.

Overall, 3.8/5 definitely worth another shot but pretty good.

Raspberry ice cream

30/70 vg/pg ratio, 6mg nic Raspberry sweet (TPA) at 5% Vanilla bean ice cream (TPA) at 5%

Days 1-4 didn’t try it, figured that the vanilla needed time to steep

Day 5, very creamy, not much of a raspberry flavor, more of a vanilla ice cream with raspberry jam or something similar.

Day 6, didn’t try

Day 7, creamy and tangy, perfect blend of raspberry and vanilla.

If I were to make this flavor again I’d do a larger batch, aha. Made a 30 ml but I don’t think I’m gonna get tired of this flavor anytime soon.

Overall 4.5/5

Thanks for sharing but I'm gonna dead honest. This is a nightmare to read. You should take a look at this recipe template to help clean it up a bit.

Sorry about that! I only use mobile so I wasn’t sure that you could do that, I’ll definitely look into it and learn how to do it. Thanks for the feedback!

Anytime! The berry taffy still needs a little tinkering in my opinion, but everyone’s taste is different. Feel free to try it out and tweak it and please share if you find a better way to make it, I’ll be doing the same :)

Try replacing the berries with maybe 2% FA Blackcurrant..it's a sweeter berry-eswue flavor. Somewhat of a candy flavor.

The ole' Mustard Milk approach to making ice cream is to ~~stick~~ jam pack 8% TFA VBIC with your preferred fruit. This works with just about any 'normal' berry like strawberry, raspberry, and other fruits like peach, etc. It would probably go nicely with your blackberry too.

I just wasn’t sure if 8% would be overpowering, I had seen a recipe for blueberry ice cream with 8% and 5% blueberry. I’ll definitely try a batch with 8% and see how that turns out. blackberry sounds really good too I’ll have to make some of that soon too. Thank you!

If you like the VBIC at 5% then by all means keep using it there, I was just pointing out the fact that you can essentially plug and play a lot of things into it. Same goes for making lemonades with LA lemonade and FA lemon sicily, throwing certain fruits into CAP Sugar Cookie or a Cheesecake base, etc.

Yeah I tried a lemonade flavor with flavor west natural lemonade and totally burnt my tastebuds out with the percentage I used. I’ll definitely have to find the sweet spot for that one. Thanks for the advice though that’ll help a lot!

Do you think it would work with CAP Sweet Guava? Also, I have INW Raspberry but I hear INW are quite strong so dial down the percentage on that do you think?

Which one raspberry? If it's Malina, keep it to .5% maximum.

I've never tried a Guava ice cream, though it sounds interesting. It couldn't hurt to make a 10ml test batch and see how it turns out. I would start with 4%-5% of Cap Sweet Guava.

Also depending on which raspberry you have from INW will determine the usage percentage. Like /u/juthinc said, the Malina is crazy strong and anything over half a percent gets floral. I don't remember what the other one is called but it's okay to about 2% if I recall correctly.

Inw Raspberry shisha and it would be great in ice cream it's like the Raspberry ripples.

INW Raspberry is very strong, so I wouldn't take it over .5%.
