/u/kindground hit us with Blueberry Round Up an absolutely top-notch post overloaded with all the blueberry flavor notes you could want.
-
/u/DarkJester89 is back at it again with another PSA, this time reminding everyone of some things to think about when that juice you mixed just isn't tasting right. A solid list of things to consider when troubleshooting.
-
/u/horrend went all out for FOTW: Savory testing and reviewing six succulent sounding flavors; Cheddar Cheese, Fried Bacon, Corn, Mozzarella, Tomato and Egg Yolk (sparing all our delicate palates in the process)
-
/u/Leilani_H is back at it again with all that flair and couple fine reviews of sweet flavors: FA Jammy/Candy Wizard & VT Jam It
-
/u/Battlebusss took a minute to give thanks to this fine community for being so helpful.
-
And finally /u/eyemakepizza informed us that our very own /u/EdibleMalfuntion is the subject of TheFogVlog's Mixer Review and while /u/kindground pointed out a valid concern, it seems like a solid idea that they can hopefully improve upon with time.

Quick question: is it ok to post new flavour reviews for flavours that already have a review but the threads/posts are locked?
First venture into DIY commences today. Ordered from Nic River on Monday and it already arrived this morning (even tho site said heavy volume may cause lag). Looking forward to being part of the community and take whatever advice y’all have cause God knows I’m gonna have a ton of questions even after reading anything and everything the past month.
Welcome! This is a fantasic sub, with very knowledgeable people willing to share their experiences to save us all time.
Hi all. I'm curious if anyone else mixes up 70/30 nic only for changing flavours in your tank/cotton. Or do you just chuck your next flavour in contamination-be-damned?

Some flavours really need a tear-down/rinse/fresh cotton/burn that unholy taste off the coils or bury them outside... Looking at you Great Lakes Sweet Mango. >_> Soo instead of swapping gear hearts I'll run some unflavoured through before adding the new flavour. You wouldn't want to test like this, but for known faves you don't want to contaminate(ie purge out some sugar) it'll be fine. Know what I mean?

Happy Mixing!
I do this often if I've only run 10-15ml of flavored juice through it and don't want to rewick before switching flavors. I only do it if the next flavor profile I want to vape is similar. I wouldn't try it to switch from fruits to say tobacco or bakeries. I also vape unflavored on a regular basis to give my taste buds a refreshing rest.
Do any of you have or know of a really good chocolate cake recipe? Mixers' Club theme is "duets" meaning take two existing recipes and make them work together. I had the idea of taking Alfred Pudding's 007 Cola recipe and mixing it with a chocolate cake recipe for a chocolate cola cake but it just occurred to me that I've never actually tried a chocolate cake recipe.
Bronuts?
Single flavor FLV chocolate Deutsch?
Trying to wrap my head around a couple things.
-
How do the majority of commercial ejuice end up as colored liquid? Do they actually just throw in artificial coloring? So far my recipes have been clear and maybe have a very faint color to them.
-
How much sweetener do they actually use? %-wise?
-
And how are they sometimes able to remain fresh, light and juicy even while being so sweet/sugary? Each time I added even a little to much sweetener my mix ends up so heavy and thick on the tongue because of the sweetener.
-
The color of a liquid can change over time. I'm sure the commercial stuff is fully matured by the time you get it. Concentrates can turn to all sorts of tints.
-
I have never seen a disclosed amount. There are different kinds of sweeteners and it depends on the juice as well.
-
Commercial companies probably make a ton of versions until they get the percentages (of the concentrates used) dialed in to where the recipe is optimal.
Try using very little sweetener. Concentrate on your flavors. Get them where you like it. If its not sweet enough after that try adding just a little bit of Super Sweet. Like one drop in 15ml.
Is there a way to remove sweetness from unflavored juice?
I recently started vaping, got a breeze 2 and a prince stick with the rba thing (still using the coils it came with). Got 1 liter of pg and 1 of vg, 100mg/ml pg nicotine and some flavors.
Tested some fruit flavors at low 1-2% on a 50/50 base with 5-18mg nic (still adjusting the nic, because the breeze seems to need more nic than the prince). They were not bad at all, but pretty sweet
I tried 50/50 without flavor and with and without nic, still sweet. Any way to make the juice as unflavored as possible?
To be clear, you've tried unflavored and the plain VG is still too sweet?
Yes I tried unflavored, only 50 vg and 50 pg, clean tank, and new coil. Still feels too sweet for me.
Does anyone know whether the rebranded versions (as discussed here) are less concentrated than the original ones, meaning that you should adjust the % used? More specifically I'm into buying "L'Oran" (Lorann) and "Arte Italiano" (Flavour Art) from Vapable.
They shouldn't be. The purpose of the rebranding is to get around the pricing forced on them by the manufacturers. This way they can buy in bulk, rebottle/rebrand and sell it cheaper. Only way to truly find out though would be to test them both side by side.
Does it work to use all VG and no PG, with a flavoring? Or is that unadvised. What would be the difference
Edit: I’m going to be using a .15 ohm coil
Does anyone know if there are any good flavoring sales soon? I was hoping for something today by chance but nothin
Bull City has a 6% off : elrecipes . It works year-round.
No.... You missed the holiday sales
I think the next decent sale day is Easter in mid April. Might get lucky on Valentines day or St. Patrick's day though. Sorry. You could try some sample/variety packs? Like 10x15mls for $25 type thing. gl.
What is the weird ass cinnamon in TFA Cinnamon Danish Swirl? I've had it before in a store bought horchata juice many moons ago, it's very odd. Also on the same note if anyone has a "normal" cinnamon danish/roll/swirl/pastry flavor lmk 🤣
I'm not really big on cinnamon flavors but I've used them. I haven't tried TFA's. But I have tried Capellas CDS from time to time. The cinnamon was ok and didn't taste weird to me, so there's that. The overall flavor is a tad dry though. FW Cinnamon Roll tastes good too. FLV Rich Cinnamon is a little spendy but so worth it. Like two drops in 30ml and you have delicious cinnamony goodness.
Does anyone know of any diy suppliers that are based in Poland for pg/vg/nic/flavorings? Or will ship to Poland anyhow?
Just order direct from Inawera for flavors. Chemnovatic for nic. Pretty sure they sell bases too.
For other companies flavors (other than Molinberry, which I think is also Polish) chef's in the UK should ship to Poland
I thought Inawera was strictly flavours..that's my bad. Molinberry is also in Poland, like you said. I'll definitely look into that.
So I hope this is a place to ask this question
I just got my first real order, 30x10ml of concentrates. I have just stored them all in small plastic containers, then it hit me, can the flavor transfer between bottles, contaminait the other flavors, they are all touching each other? Dont want to come back and having it all tasting of bavarian cream :p
If your containers are relatively airtight, you're good. But I agree, having flavoring taste like bavarian cream would be bad.
So I shouldnt worry about flavor transfer ? And the containers are decent, but already smells like a candy shop after 1 day.
My first mixes were One Shots from ecigexpress and Liquid Barn, all have steeped and it's time to try. First one for my wife is Mango Mafia from ecigexpress, she says it's not bad but wants it sweeter.
I do have Ethyl Maltol and TFA Sweetener on hand.
Which one would be better with mango flavoring?
I'll have to interrogate her further on how much sweeter she'd like it but assuming 'just a little' - add 1 or 2 drops for existing mix? (originally mixed 30 ml, call it 25 ml +/- left in bottle)
I have the Recipe Calculator, using the Modify Recipe feature its telling me to add all components. Is that really necessary?
Couldn't I just add a couple drops of which ever recommended sweetener to the existing mix, providing that is enough? Then for future mixes add sweetener to recipe @ .25 or .5%?
Thanks - I don't mind the small change in juice, to be honest, dont think she'll even notice. So the next time I mix a 30 ml, should I go with .5%?
That should work. Also, pick up some sweetener that is just sucralose and also get some TFA Cotton Candy (Ethyl Maltol). TFA sweetener is a mix of both sucralose and EM. This will give you better control and less flavor muting. EM has a tendency to mute flavor over 0.5%. Ecigexpress sells a 10% dilution of sucralose and I believe FW sweetener is also just sucralose.
Hey guys/gals. Anybody have experience with TFA Dulce De Leche Caramel? I've used the regular one.
Not a lot but I prefer it to the others I have so far.. I mainly have these for my Mother who loves the sweet desert vapes. The Dulce De Leche though, I find.. not as gooey, one note-syrupy candy like - more like a sauce.. if that makes sense. I am terrible at describing things.
I put it in a coffee blend at .5% and it brought the "highlander grogg" feeling I was looking for in my coffee mix. I don't know if this is helpful to you. But its the only one I have actually enjoyed.
Is there a general rule of thumb as far as how much flavorings are ideal for a recipe? For example, if I'm looking into doing a melon/honeydew/pomegranate recipe but I have no idea what ratios wouldn't ruin the batch. I've seen somewhere along the lines of like 9% total ballpark but then again I have no idea since this would be a total first for me.

My thinking was Melon - 3.5%, Honeydew - 2.5%, Pomegranate - 1.5/2% and maybe a touch of sweetner but I'm on the fence about that because I really don't know if it would need it. 100% VG for what it's worth. Well no PG added I should say.
I have a question about apples. It seems that every apple I use gives me a "musty" feel in the back of my throat. The worst one I have come across is fa fuji(very sad) even at 3-4%. I have also used cap double apple and inw 2 apples. They don't have as much of it going on but it's still there. Is there anything I can use to try and mask that?
I have had a hard time finding and or mixing desert flavors. I end up disliking them after a few puffs. I have tried commercial juices too. Which were definitely worse...
Despite this I really want one... The struggle is real.
Any advice or suggestions?
INW Cactus is hard for some people to deal with.
Love it. Currently my go to base is something with honeydew, cantaloupe and cactus.. Edit: I also have CAP Sweet Mango and I am really enjoying the spiciness. I read a few flavor reviews for this one and no one ever mentioned spice so I am hoping its just my weird tastebuds and not a bad batch or something.
Give up.
Seriously. You may just not like any of them. I can't vape baked goods. I don't even bother trying. Find what you like and go from there. Everyone likes something. Baked goods, tobaccos, custards, florals, fruits, beverages... Find what works for you and stop trying to force something.
Nods nods. This is pretty much the answer I expected.
Thought there might be a hack or something I just hadn't thought of.. Oh well.
I have found I enjoy fruits and florals... to an extent. Trying to do something with honey atm which has been intriguing.
Thanks for the reply and reassurance ha.
You know, I never really cared for dessert juices either. I've tried a whole mess of commercial juices and many a diy mix, and the only dessert juices I enjoyed enough to vape more than a few ml of have been few and far between. I've started to consider that maybe I just can't enjoy those kinds of flavors. I've just recently found some combination of cheesecake flavorings that I dig. Creams I mostly don't care for with a select few exceptions.
Same. Trying a coffee blend I put together yesterday.. taking notes on how it steeps. So far the only cream I "like" is Flavor Apprentice Bavarian. For me at least it doesn't have any sour or steamed milk after taste... yet.
Recently I discovered that I really dig FLV Cream, FA Fresh Cream, and TFA vbic. A combo of these really pleases me deep down. Most other creams I've tried I didn't really enjoy.
I don't have FA Bavarian, only TFA Bavarian. And I haven't gotten around to trying it yet. Also need to get around to trying OOO Cream (milky undertones).
What is an inexpensive MOD for the Wasp Nano RDA?
There's a million of them. Go to a site like eightvape. Go to the mods section. Click organize by price on the mod page. You can organize by cheapest to most expensive.
Will this work with the Wasp Nano RDA? Wismec Reuleaux RX75 Mod
Yeah, any mod with a 510 connector. Which is most mods... But I see now. The shape of that mod is a little different. I think it will work good if your RDA is 22MM. The tank for that mod (In the kit version) is 22. Not sure if it can accommodate a wider diameter atty than that.
Yeah weight is the way I’m going. Cali resident so I’ve gone the DIY route for my “medicine” 😉 so that’s not an issue. Already have a 501 been using for other things. The only thing I’m concerned with is adjusting recipes. Seems so noob to ask but I’ve read a ton and see no clear solution. If y’all could give me advice or better yet, point me somewhere I can see for myself. Example: toms recipe calls for sugar cookie and vanilla custard, but I wanna take his recipe and add wild blueberry. How do I determine how much blueberry? Just check median % on ELR and trial and error? And how does that affect amount of sugar cookies and custard? Again, sorry if I sound like a noob.....I am lol
You don't need to change anything from the OG recipe. I would use flavor reviews in this sub and percentages on ATF though. Not ELR. And if you mean TFA Blueberry Wild, I'd choose a different one if you can. There are other flavors you can get to make a well rounded fresh, fleshy blueberry, but if I had to pick a single one I'd use FW Blueberry
Anyone know of any good and tested flavors from eBay?
Check out this List of Vendors
What percentage would you use TFA RY4 Double at for a MTl atomizer?
MTL? Nothing out of the normal. If it isn't a pod, I wouldn't increase it. Though with its lengthy steeping time, I might make two batches just in case.
Sorry I did mean for pods. I find I need to use pod recipes in my kayfun
Will changing nicotine concentration of a recipe affect the flavor at all? Or is that safe to change to your liking?
It can but not too likely you'll notice much difference. What kind of change are talking about?
Has anyone mastered a flavor that's close to Kettle Pop Corn?
AP 3%
Isn't that more Fritos territory?
If I’m using 100% VG, or maybe a little bit of distilled water also. Will a Propylene glycol based flavoring work?
OK, I have been trying to nail a recipe for going on 6 months now and I have gotten nowhere. The juice is Atty Boy "vengeance", I love the stuff but have been mixing my own recipes for a while and can't seam to duplicate it. WOndering if anyone on here has ever heard of it or tried to make it? The profile is Caramel, Toffee, Vanilla and graham cracker. Help me please.
What have you tried?
Basics...caramel 3%-4%, butter toffee and English toffee, graham cracker (tea and cap) various vanillas- French Madagascar vanilla custard...even vanilla extract once...can’t seem to get the rich buttery tones
