Yesterday, I was bullshitting with EdibleMalfunction about some recipes and went to go to his ATF profile to look at a recipe quick. Being lazy, I just tossed his name into google to get his ATF profile. I happened to notice a YouTube video that popped up with his name and was curious so I clicked it.
I then found out about the channel TheFogVlog. Among other types of DIY related videos, they do what seems to be a recurring segment called Mixer Review.
I thought it was a pretty damn cool and different way of discussing and reviewing everyone's mixes. I haven't gotten to finish the whole Edible video or get to any of the other ones, but I will for sure be watching them all.
Meh. They won't go out of their way to buy concentrates to review some people and often make subs on the recipes they do review. Useless in my opinion. That seriously rubs me the wrong way.
Huh, that is kinda shitty.
I’ve watched like half of the one on Edible and a bit of Alfreds. I’ll have to keep an eye out for the subs and such.
Hi Kindground - we absolutely go out of our way to buy concentrates to produce a show. We spotlight a mixer - showing off some of their work. If we cant mix up at least 8 recipes between 5 of us, we cant showcase that mixer. We have a pool of mixers that we want to review, especially people who are active in the community, and contributing. Just because we cant review a mixer now, does not mean we cant review / showcase them in the future.
You make it sound like we bad mouth mixers after we have used a sub - are you serious? None of the people in the TFV team will stand for something like this, what you say here is just plain awful, destructive and TOTAL rubbish. We do everything within our power to motivate mixers on some of the positive elements we can find in their recipes.
I know where this comes from Kindground, i'm really sorry that we cant yet ,feature you on our channel - even after you requested. Please dont shoot something positive in the community. I honestly can not believe this, never thought I would find something like this on Reddit, especially from a known DIY'er like Kindground. Wow.

I didn't bad mouth you or insinuate anything. I stated fact and that it rubbed me the wrong way. I'm of the opinion that if you're going to review a recipe, you should review that recipe as it's creator intended.
Yes, you rejected me as a mixer to review but that's not the issue here. I still kept tuning in. It wasn't until I noticed that the recipes you were choosing were relatively old and that you were subbing staple ingredients that I stopped having interest in watching.
Instead of coming at me maybe you should use the feedback to improve?
We never rejected you as a mixer - we were only unable to collectively mix up 8 or more of your recipes. I even responded with exactly that, saying that in future we could very well showcase your mixes.
This is the problem, your lack of detail is leaving many things open to interpretation. 99% of the time we mix up a recipe exactly how its intended - if someone mixed up a recipe with a sub, they will always add that disclaimer, they will also never do this if the sub is a main note. In this way they can still talk about some of the layers in a recipe - there is value there for the viewer, and also the recipe creator.
Some mixers are humbled that we mixed them up, recorded a show about their work - even if some of the recipes are a bit older. They don't mind, they welcome the feedback - remember some of the older recipes have no reviews on them yet.
Dude what I dont get is that you are talking trash about my channel on Reddit, and now you want to spin it as constructive criticisms - that is straight up BS my dude.
I didn't think about that....thats a fair point
Hi Edible - thanks for your comments the other day, could not find you anywhere. Hope you enjoyed your show on TFV. What was said above is not true.
Being from Africa, they may not have access to a vast variety of flavors/brands... but I could see why that'd be offputting. It's probably also why they review older recipes because older ones typically use FW/TFA/ETC which are easier to get.
Chef's will ship to South Africa for the same £5 as they will for us....
The problem is the South African Postal services. Once the parcel hits customs it can be anything from 3 to 9 months for a parcel to clear and reach its destination. So we do rely on the vendors. And they only stock the concentrates that can move quickly like TFA/CAP/FW/FA. ALthough some vendors are making an effort to get some of the newer brands. Things will start to look up.
Thanks again for the link. I made sure to Comment. One or all three of them must be on here....
Perhaps they will see this....
Hi Guys, im from south africa and part of the eciggsa forum, and they seem to be from around here, Thefogvlog. :-) thats perhaps why they review recipes and older ones in general, their consumers are essentially the south african community initially i suppose. perhaps you can check the forum out and see, there are reviews for almost everything, from gear, to juices, to mixers, and even review of classified sellers , vendors ...yeah..
