Question About This Flavor
submitted over 6 years ago by Killer_BrigMentholatier

So I recently mixed up some Abuela since it's so highly rated, and I used to enjoy a good cigar.

The flavor is amazing, absolutely delicious juice, but I've run about ten milliliters through my coils and they're black as midnight already.

Is this a symptom of tobacco juices in general? Or is it just this juice?

Yeah most tobacco juices murder your coils fast. Worth it tho.

Jesus, at this rate I'd be replacing cotton four times a week and coils a few times a month.

Ugh, I'm such a utilitarian when it comes to vaping, a vaped a basic strawberry kiwi for a year because it tasted good and I didn't have to change my cotton much.

Hey, I've got 800 devices and I use every single one of them snort lmao

i don’t even really care for flavor so much but i’d change my wick every day just cause it feels fresher, it wasn’t until i started hanging around these types of subs more that i realized that’s a bit odd, ahaha.

Everytime I replace my cotton I burn off the coil gunk by heating my coils and then scrubbing them with a wire brush. This cleans the coils and extends their life. Remove them from your RDA before the scrub. I soak mine in water for 20 minutes before the scrub to loosen any gunk in the creases.

Use Short wicks like when testing single flavors. U can replace every other day in literally 90 seconds, just have to drip every 5 hits or so.

I appreciate the advice, and I know it's not hard to rewick an RDA. But it's such a pain to do it every other day.

Probably your main culprit there is the Cured. I wouldn’t say all tobaccos are that bad. With the ones I vape the most of I usually get through about 30 ml vaping at 30 watts before the coils are gunked and flavor diminishes. Others I can only get about 10-15 ml. With NETs I get maybe 5 ml at about 15 watts before it’s gunk City.

Oof, that'd do it. I'm using a low ohm setup so I'm hitting it at about 95 watts, and I'm at around twelve ml's used and it's as burnt looking as a match head.

Flavor hasn't gone down much at all, but...

Do you know if FLV tobaccos are artificial flavors or natural? And what’s with those glass bottles they come in with the plastic tip that doesn’t completely seal and goes everywhere if you shake the bottle with the cap on?

FLV are artificial and I’m not sure what’s up with those bottles. I don’t really care much for them.

Glass bottles with awkward plastic tip will be a thing of the past in the near future, thankfully. I can appreciate the motivation to want to use them (assuming concentrate longevity) but I think I'd rather sacrifice it for ease of use.

Me neither. I just immediately transfer them to 30ml ldpe.

I only use RDA's for tobaccos. It doesn't take that long to dry burn the gunk off of the coil and re-wick a couple times a week or so.

I’ve been vaping for 3 yrs but have avoided what I perceived would be a bit hassle of rewicking an RDA, but after owning one for a week and having switched wicks 3 times to try 3 different flavors, I wonder WTF I was thinking. I should have done this years ago.

Me too homie. Been vaping for 6 years and haven't had a decent RDA until a couple months ago. The freedom it allows is unmatched.

by lNTERLINKEDover 6 years agoI did not ask for this flair.

I was the same, vaped for 2-3 years before switching. I wasted so much money on coils.

The darker the concentrate the more prone to gunking they are. Those FLV tobaccos all pretty much tend to do this.

You really have to run tobaccos on a rebuildable and be ready to rewick often. With the stixx mixx I’ve been trying it’s often a few times a day I find myself rewicking.

Well, guess I'll use the rest of what I have and move on.

Thankfully I only wasted about 20 bucks learning this lesson.

It also kind of depends on how much you vape. I try to run tobaccos out of one or two attys only. That way I always have one reliable one with some clean fruits or something.

I generally run through about, 30 every week or so?

by Wofl1211over 6 years ago

Yeah I got about a day off this recipe before the coils were shot.

Ugh I hate that.

The flavor is so good, but wiping black shit out of my RDA is mildly concerning after only one day.

Yeah that’s one of the reasons I’ve stopped vaping tobaccos. They’re honestly probably a lot safer than all the DAAP I currently vape but whatever.

I just wanted something not super sweet or dessert like that had a good strong flavor.

Back to the drawing board I suppose.

You've actually reminded me to mix this up - I finally got all the flavors I needed. Will install it on an RDA with this in mind.
