I have ordered from them three times now.
With the exception of this last time, shipping has been rapid and the orders have been correct.

This last time, (Late December) shipping was very slow, HOWEVER, I received an email explaining why it was slow and what steps in the future the company is taking to ensure that it does not happen again.

They also threw in an extra bottle of flavor (Dark Tobacco) in my order.

I had to contact customer service on one occasion, which was regarding my second order. I wanted to add an item about 10 seconds after I placed my order. They responded almost immediately. Although, they informed me that they could not do that, what they could do was cancel the order and I could redo it at my convenience. I agreed and it was completed very promptly.

Packaging has always been exceptional. No leaks, spills, or broken/split bottles.

If there has been one thing that has irked me, it is this:

One of the items in my last order was on Backorder. No one told me. Nicotine River informed me that my order shipped and it is listed in my order, I had assumed everything was good. Last night it wasn't in the box and I was going to send them an email about a missing item until I looked at my packing sheet. They had it written on the packing sheet that it was back ordered. However, there was nothing communicated to me about Hazelnut being on back order. I would have liked to have been told about that so I could have looked at other options.

Value 10/10
Shipping Speed 8/10
Customer Service 10/10
Would Recommend Absolutely!

Agree with all three of your ratings. Have ordered 5x over last 2 years and similarly shipping is usually decently quick (4-5 days to east coast via ground) with the exception also being this last sale in late December which took 2 weeks to arrive -- 8 days to ship, another 6 to arrive (FedEx ground). They also tossed in a free 8oz bottle of Flavor Revolution's Custard.

>No leaks, spills, or broken/split bottles.

About a year ago I did have issue where some of the 10ml bottles caps had slight tears. Only a small amount leaked, say 0.2ml-0.5ml per bottle but since they don't separately seal each bottle was worried of some maybe contaminated. Emailed their CS and they replied quickly that they had received the wrong sized caps that were too small for the bottles, and then sent replacements for all the 10MLs (30+ flavors) I ordered with express shipping.

Best overall value with the price of VG/PG lowest anywhere I've found for a gallon or less and now with 15ml standard size at same price 10ml use to be, most flavors too even without a sale.

I've placed 3 orders with Nicotine River over the past year. The prices are good. Honestly, the selection is almost TOO big. How am I supposed to choose between the 12 different blueberry flavors they offer when I haven't tried all 12? (That might be an exaggeration, but it's a lot...) I always end up buying more than I intended to just because I'm like "why not? I'll try this one too!" Their mixing tools are fine. They do have some of the nicer, squishier bottles I've ever used. No breaking your thumb trying to fill your tank with their bottles!

Shipping time is a tad long in today's era of 2-day prime. It typically takes 7-10 days for me to receive my order from the day I hit "submit" to the day it's delivered.

Packaging is good. Everything is labelled nicely and bagged within other bags so that if there is leakage you don't have anything to worry about.

I've had no cause to contact customer service, so can't review that portion.

Overall, they're a nice company. I'll probably order from them again. Maybe...my fiancee and I seem to be unintentionally weaning ourselves off vaping, but that's no fault of Nicotine River.

Great prices. Doesn't have a lot of the things I want but does have an enormous selection. Shipping time varies, but not in my personal experience enough to be a huge issue. Nicotine quality varies since they changed brands; I've gotten a batch that was a little harsher and slightly funky and spoiled before I could use it all. I think I'll stick to getting freebase nic elsewhere. For salts though, I'd rather get it from Nic River than risk dealing less reliable vendors.

I've never had to use their customer service - no problems with any of my orders, no problems with packaging or anything like that.

It bothers me - maybe more than it should - that the owner doesn't even vape. Also real involvement in the DIY community seems to be nearly nil. That's a huge minus in my book.

I ordered the 120ml 100mg/ml pg feebase nic from carolina xtracts, price was more than double as nic river but I've heard it's better quality and I know that much will last me a very long time. Haven't received it yet. Thoughts on their brand if you have used it?

I’ve used it, it’s the highest quality. But it’s so much more expensive than the second best quality that I’m not sure it’s worth it unless you’re the kind of person who just has to have the absolute best. So I get my freebase from Vapers Tek now.

Prices are comparable to other US vendors, if not better at times (15 mL samples costing the same as others selling 10 mL, better sales).

Shipping time has generally been good on my orders - out the door in two business days. Only exception is the large sale they had over Christmas but seeing how they were swamped and I don't know their employee status after the wildfires, I was ok with 10 days to ship. On a side note, kudos to them for thinking of their employees after the wildfires and putting the business second.

No major order problems. I've had a few leaky samples and maybe three sample bottles that refuse to open but I never bothered them about it since they were cheap samples.

Packaging has always been good with everything packed into a plastic bag, taped shut and surrounded by styrofoam.

I wish their nic was cheaper to shop but I always add enough flavors or supplies to reach the free shipping threshold so not a big deal.

Overall a good vendor in my opinion and I'll continue to use them.

Based on three orders over the last 6 months

  • Price - current prices are lower than other sites and offering larger quantity for base price (usually 15ml compared to 10ml on other sites) of flavors. Good pricing on quantity of VG and PG. Comparable on Nicotine, but shipping costs for nicotine will be steep without meeting free shipping spending amount.
  • Selection - Good, they don't always have everything I am looking for, but they have the majority.
  • Shipping Time (out the door) - Around 3-5 days has been my experience. Not as fast as other sites that will sometimes ship same day.
  • Order Problems & Resolution - None to date
  • Packaging - Flavors and nicotine in plastic ziplock bag, everything wrapped in bubble wrap securely
  • Customer Service & Response to Contact - None to date

Overall a great site to order from, especially if you hit the free shipping amount.

I've only ordered from two vendors from 'murica. Nic River is one of them. It was a while back, and only one order, but... They're excellent. I like the readability of their labels. (Much better than with Chef's). If I have a complaint about the labels, it's that they just use logos for the brand of flavor. I'd prefer if they would throw even the standard abbreviations on the labels. Anyhow, I got the package with no leakage, in reasonable enough time considering customs and Canada Post. Their selection was reasonably good, prices (excluding shipping) were good. Had no problems, no freebies, no interaction with their CS so no comment.

My most recent order ended up in Virginia instead of Oregon and they stopped responding to my emails last week 🤷🏻‍♂️ ordered on the 28th and got 1 bottle of strawberry ripe in a separate package from the same order on the 8th, finally got all of my order on the 11th and still radio silence from them. However I've been ordering from them for about 2 years now and aside from this last order and the fire issues they've been great and I understand some shit is out of their hands.

When my usual vendor declined to have a holiday sale, I gave NR a shot to get the 20% off. I found the website was intuitive enough, may be a bit too much at first because the selection is one of the largest I've seen. The prices are competitive to below, a solid plus. They were swamped with orders from that sale so my order placed on 12/31 was not shipped until 1/9. Not a major problem for me since I place large orders several times a year to get the free shipping, I wasn't in immediate need.

Other pros: Since my shipment was backlogged because of the sale, they included a free 2 oz. bottle of elderberry concentrate which came with the order.

Other con: Fed Ex is not the fastest shipper, at least not in my area. A choice would be nice.

Overall I was pleased with the experience and will be using them again in the future.

  • Prices- They offer some of the lowest prices Ive seen. That's for everything. Flavors, nicotine, VG/PG, bottles, ect. If they sell it, good chances are you are getting a very competitive price.

  • Selection- They have an excellent selection. It's like Walmart for people who DIY E-Juice. It's a one-stop-shop for all of my needs with low prices. The only improvement I can think of would be for them to sell Jungle Flavors. But they do carry Purilum, a very good brand overall. I haven't seen them anywhere else.

  • Shipping Time- They have shipped to me at an acceptable rate. Meaning my order is prepped and leaves their building within 3 days. Orders durring sale times is a different story. When they fall behind, it can take A WHILE. It could be a week, two weeks, over two weeks for them to actually get it in the mail. So beware of that. To be fair they recently moved and might be working out the kinks of their new place. They've had to deal with wild fire evacuation as well.

  • Customer Service- They have a rep or reps that are involved in forum discussion (ELR Forum). They listen to requests and seem to generally care. They sent me 4oz of TFA-Pumpkin free my last order, so there's that too lol.

  • Order Problems- I've had zero problems in the last year and a half of shopping there. I've ordered ten times, and everything gets here eventually. This isn't really a problem but they seem to change their labels and bottles often. [EDIT]I had a problem recently with an item I purchased there. NR was freindly and understanding. A replacement has been sent to me free of charge. I won't go into detail but it was an oddity. They took care of me. That inspires my loyalty. Thanks NicRiver!

  • Packaging- They do a good job with their packaging IMO. Bottles are grouped in ziplocked bags or sealed with tape. Boxes have plenty of styrofoam to fill any voids to prevent rattle.

  • Conclusion- I think it's a great place to get suplies. They upped all of their sample sizes to 15ML and kept the prices the same which is great. I buy flavors from other sites but those places don't offer liquid nicotine. The main problem they have is getting bum rushed when they have a sale. Then people are waiting and not happy. I seriously think BCF has spoiled us (their speed). Anything less is seen as a fault. But NR has fallen behind on shipping by large margins at times. Get some trained people in there to make things run smoothly. BCF still ships out fast even durring holiday codes.

Not much to add to everyone else's experiences, as my orders have generally been the same.

Couple of thoughts:

Selection- amazing diversity. I will say every order I've gone to place at least one thing I wanted wasn't in stock. Totally not NR's fault, more on me for wanting either truly odd or overly hyped flavors.

Shipping- I live about as central in the US as possible. Shipping has never been Amazon fast, but acceptable and predictable. If I needed nic super quickly, I'd order elsewhere, otherwise its fine to wait the week to ten days my orders take. Also, if I'm making an order, I'm getting enough to hit free shipping no matter who I'm ordering from.

Speaking of Nic- I'm a pretty big fan of their products. When I was using freebase I tried Carolina extracts... Not impressed. It was fine, but seemed to degrade faster than NR's, who I switched to after using NN's product. Never had an issue with NR nic, and have solely been using their smooth salts for about 6 months now.

Overall, great vendor. NR and BCF get all my DIY money right now.

Yeah I ordered new years for the sale and don't even have an ETA. They are having issues from the sale I guess. Kinda sucks. Think I'll be sticking with bull city and Carolina extracts since I've always received my orders within a few days with them. I'm just hoping the products are quality now.

14 days since order placed no info on when they will even send it out. Support wont even reply.

by EverySirover 6 years ago

Charge back and replace order somewhere else. Make sure you send support that note too. Charge backs are bad dings on company credit, and they won't like that. 2 weeks is essentially holding your money hostage at that point. That is Fasttech level bad.

Just wanted to give recognition where it's due here.

First off - Nicotine River had a sale for New Years, so expectations ran low on fast service as they are trying to grow in 2019 as well. Historically they have done a great job with shipping. However, I placed an order with them over 2 weeks ago, specifically so I didn't catch the backlog from the sale. I mis-gaged this by a football field. My order was stuck without even a confirmation receipt for over a week. Within that timeframe, the owner of NicRiver sent a mass email to everyone stating they were having issues with shipping times. I had sent them a couple of emails trying to get some information, and was told that I would receive a confirmation when it shipped as I forgot to include my email address on my order. I didn't think they would let you place the order without an email address entered, but ok, definitely my bad if I did that.

I received my confirmation last week and my order a couple days later. the only issue was, they left out 75% of my order, and included an 8oz bottle of something I wouldn't ever use. Props to them for hooking people up knowing they are dealing with impatient people! What I got wasn't my cup of tea, but that isn't their fault or problem.

I've been sending them emails since Friday to explain that my order was missing several things I've ordered, and they have not responded (which is not normal for them).

I gave up on the fact that they would fix this issue, and I have lost a lot of respect for them as a company at this point. I ended up going over to BCF to grab the few things NR did not send, and they have already processed my order, and sent me an email thanking me for my business. Night and day difference here, and I appreciate BCF being so quick and courteous to their customers.

Now, I'm not knocking NicRiver. We know they are reliable although they have a few kinks to fix here, I just wanted to bring this up to others that are looking to replenish here and order through them. The service has been getting noticeably worse and wouldn't support them if they are shifting from quality to quantity of service.

Overall 0/10 and buy at your own risk. And I was a huge fan, but gave up after 5th order.

  • Prices: 9/10 Okay in general. Best prices I can find on VG/PG. I typically do one big VG/PG + flavors buy per year on a sale, then a top-up order of flavors and expand the catalog later on.

  • Selection: 7/10 Again, okay in general. Half of the times I've seen something new that sounds interesting on this subreddit I can't find it on NR.

  • Shipping Time: 0/10 Oh boy. Normally I'd give them an 7/10 as all my previous orders took an average of 3.75 days to ship after purchase. My current order is coming up on 3 weeks with no useful update about progress. Edited to 0 after 3 weeks of waiting.

  • Customer Service: 0/10 The only time I've contacted them is about my current order, for which they could give no estimate as to when they'd get to it. Edited to zero after they ignored an update request at 3 weeks, and then ignored my refund request.

  • Order Problem Responses & Resolution: lol

  • Packaging: 7/10 As others have noted, I've had issues with things arriving with loose caps. No major leakage to date, just a few drops leaked out during shipment.

  • Customer Service & Response to Contact: ~~1 hour turnaround when I inquired about my order. No useful information, but they were quick to reply.~~ Nevermind, after additional follow-up, they've ignored me.

Edit:

  • 12/31/2017 placed my 5th order with NR
  • 1/10/2018 inquired about order
  • 1/10/2018 CSR explained how slammed they were. Cool, I'm patient... to a point
  • 1/21/2018 inquired about ETA
  • 1/22/2018 inquired about refund
  • 1/23/2018 after waiting 24 more hours, initiated dispute with my credit card company. hasta nunca, NR :(

I live in the U.S. I've order from them before so naturally I went to look again.. and the shipping cost on a gallon of VG was ridiculous. I know I could fix it by upping my order over $50 and getting free shipping but damn $45 shipping for 1 gallon is insane. I was aiming to spend as little as possible, the only reason I looked at a gallon was because the shipping cost on 500ml was ~$12, the wallet be tight right now and $50 isn't going to happen. Is it because of the fire that occurred in that area or is it that their site just doesn't have the capability to accurately calculate shipping?

by LecherousLumberjackover 6 years agoI put on women's clothing and hang around in bars

NR is the only vendor I've used since starting DIY a few months ago. I've placed 3 orders so far. The first for $70, then $86, then $157 during the holiday sale ($126 after discount). I completely stopped buying pre-made juice after my first order came in. Each order has had at least 1L of VG/PG, 150ml of 100mg freebase nic, and a variety of flavors and bottles.

  • Prices - Great. Very comparable to other US options, if not cheaper now that they've upped the sizes of their smallest bottles of flavors from 10ml to 15ml without increasing price. VG/PG and nic seem to be about the same as others as well, if not cheaper than most.
  • Selection - Great. They don't have everything but they have plenty, if that makes sense. Especially for a beginner, you couldn't ask for a better one-stop-shop. Good variety of flavors, bottle types/sizes, and nic strengths/brands/types.
  • Shipping Time (Out the door - don't blame the vendor for UPS or the USPS) - 3-5 days on my first 2 orders iirc. 11 days on the order during the new year sale. Not terrible but not the fastest turnaround ever either.
  • Customer Service - Haven't had to use it, luckily.
  • Order Problem Responses & Resolution - None yet.
  • Packaging - LOTS of peanuts. Plastic bags with either zip ties or packing tape sealing them.
  • Customer Service & Response to Contact - I sent them an email about a week before the new year sale to ask a question about the sale and never got a response. No big deal, I found out the answer a week later.

Okay, so I've recently started DIY and since i live in the middle east, i had to order from the US since we have few stores here. So i did order from Nicotine River after comparing prices with many different sites.

Their prices are very good and they have a huge variety and the sales are pretty cool, however shipping to the Middle east was super expensive (66$) but that may be because i purchased over 40 flavours lol.

Now onto the problems i have with them.. First of all i understand that they have delays due to the holidays and sales however they should send emails to their customers telling them that. 6 days after placing my order i received nothing from them, no email nothing. So i contacted them and they responded fairly quickly explaining why there are delays. Its been 8 days since that email and nothing yet, they have not shipped the items yet, still waiting. I contacted them again and this time i received an email from the owner apologising for the delay but no ETA on when my items will be shipped... Right now I'm thinking of cancelling the order but decided to give them a few more days MAX.

Will update when or if i receive anything soon..

EDIT: just an hour after i posted this comment i received an email that my order has been shipped LOL! Alright will keep you guys updated once i receive the package :)

I had the same issue and emailed them then got the same confirmation email on shipping. However, it's been maybe 7 or so days now since and the order has yet to ship. I just contacted them again to see whats up, but id check the movement on your package to see if its heading out.

Its my second order from them and the first was pretty quick, but this is unacceptable for me. I hope you have better luck though with yours!
