Welcome, Everyone.
This is your thread to chat about anything remotely DIY-related that might not fit into one or our other Weekly/Monthly threads or that you’re just not comfortable posting to the front page. If you’re a New Mixer check out the DIY Beginners Guide and the links below then feel free to ask about anything you’re still not clear on.

-
Monthly Clone Request Thread - Want a recipe or idea for how to mix your favorite commercial juice? This is the place to ask. Check out FAQ Friday: Clone Requests for some ideas on how best to ask and get closer to accomplishing your remix.
-
Monthly Clone Challenge - A community driven effort to tackle one clone request at a time.
Highlights from last week:
- /u/flavchallenged started a catalogue of flavor tasting oddities those supposedly wonderful flavors that some unfortunate souls either cannot taste or find themselves tasting something terribly off putting.
- While it wasn't /u/ID10-T's best pun it was certainly not his worst, so it must just be that everyone loves blueberries!
- /u/corellian-nerfherder recounted their recent experience with Nic River and while I appreciate the motive, the votes and comments suggest that most everyone seems to agree that vendor reviews/complaints belong in the Vendor Review threads. Nic River will have one posted tomorrow!
- /u/therapy420 brought up an interesting discussion on what they called the "Secondary effects" of flavors, i.e. flavors used as additives.
- /u/giraffedoctor47 wanted to know the difference between Nic Salts and Freebase and after all the replies exclaimed "Thank you for your, and everyone else’s reply, it covers everything I was wondering about Nicotine salt!"
- /u/VanDusky gave us a micro review of WF Bumbleberry and asked for people's thoughts... /u/mlnikon delivered and everyone else seemed just as curious as the OP.
- And last, but certainly not least, the interminably selfless Clone-y Professor himself /u/DarkJester89 implores you to leave more Customer Feedback at the vendors, for the good of all!

Good evening, What kind of adjustments would I need to make to my juice recipes to convert from regular nicotine to a nic salt based recipe for a pod device? I know I should be looking for around a 50/50 pg-vg ratio, but should I mess with my flavor percentage at all? I did a brief search and didn't see much that helped. Thanks.
If mixing for a mtl tank like siren, berserker or kayfun no need to adjust % but as for a pod device, that is low powered and doesn't give heaps of flavor output you'll want your total % quite a bit higher. Also nuanced recipes with a lot of layers and creams wont come through too well in a pod, your better off sticking with a couple ingredient mixes focusing mainly on simple fruits and cooling/and or menthol. I've gone to ATF and ELR and searched "pod" to get some ideas of what people tend to mix for pod devices.
Hey folks! Is anyone familiar with any fig concentrates? I've been dreaming of fig vapes but I don't know where to start. :-) Thank you!
Try this . . .

Heya! Can you guys/gals recommend me some good cookie recipes? Something simple would be great. My stash is kind of fruit oriented and I don't want to buy 7 flavors for 1 recipe until I'm sure cookies are cool for me.
I can't find a Jasmine flavor in stock in the USA.

Who has the best Jasmine? From my brief search it appears it's FA?
Looking to make a milk tea/boba recipe.

A quick check at Nicotine River shows FA Jasmine in stock. Where have you been looking?
Just tasted my first creation after a 5 day steep. Unfortunately it tastes kinda 'flat', a tiny bit harsh on the tongue.
Maybe it's because I've always vaped commercial sweetened ejuice but it's just missing the juiciness.
This is the recipe(tropical breeze clone by craft Vapes)
7% Mango (TPA)
3% Papaya (TPA)
9% Golden Pineapple (CAP)
3% Koolada
Any tips on what I could do? It does have the right smell but it just doesn't taste like much.
That's a lot of koolada, are you a coolant afficionado? If not that's going to cool not just your mouth but your lungs, it might even effect the flavor at that level. 1% is regarded as high by non-coolant users.
Ok thanks a lot, I'll give that a try! This is a recipe I found on eliquid recipes. The commercial juice has a very fresh and cool exhale, not like menthol so koolada seemed perfect for this but I may need to consider alternative coolants.
TFA Mango isn't the best Mango flavor.
The Koolada and Papaya are also high. I wouldn't use papaya over 1%.
The problem with ELR is that there are alot of legacy recipes on there. Not really suitable for today's gear, and there are much better flavors available to us now. Not to mention some people just don't know what they are doing on there.
OK, I have been trying to nail a recipe for going on 6 months now and I have gotten nowhere. The juice is Atty Boy "vengeance", I love the stuff but have been mixing my own recipes for a while and can't seam to duplicate it. Wondering if anyone on here has ever heard of it or tried to make it? The profile is Caramel, Toffee, Vanilla and graham cracker. Help me please.
- PG 30%
- How much of PG-based flavor is in #1?
- How much of PG-based, 6mg strength nicotine is in #1? (Nicotine was already in a 6mg PG solution when purchased)
- VG 70%
Sorry, I can't make sense of this. Can you clarify and provide some context for your question?
LOL
If 30% of my blend is PG and my flavor and nicotine make up that 30%, how much of that 30% should be nicotine, if my nicotine comes packaged in 6mg strength(which is desired), and how much is flavor?

Does that make sense?

Let's say i wanted to make a 100ml batch, and I knew how much nicotine and flavor i needed:
10%/10ml nicotine + 5%/5ml flavor + 15%/15/ml pure PG = 30%/30ml PG
then:
add 70%/70ml VG
Done.
I am just looking for recommended measurements of PG based flavor and nicotine(if my formula theory is even correct).
Please read the sidebar there is many helpful pages in there.
I believe you'll learn everything you need from this post https://www.reddit.com/r/DIY_eJuice/comments/9077u0/throwback_thursday_mixing_that_first_bottle/
Using a juice calculator is the answer, and this site lets you search different flavors to find suggested % in mixes and as single-flavor recipes!
Juice calculator:
http://e-liquid-recipes.com/create
You input desired amount, strength, strength of your nic base, and pg/vg type for flavors, etc. This is everything you ever need for mixing ejuice, and the way any other mixer will suggest.
This is the flavor list for searching flavours to find recommended mixing percentages:
http://e-liquid-recipes.com/flavors
After writing the keywords of your flavour, find the correct brand and type - usually the one with most recipes.
I also found mixing by weight being a lot easier than by volume with syringes, and it's much less to clean and more accurate. If you decide to buy one (if you haven't already), I'd recommend a weight with capacity of 100-300g and increments of 0.01g. Most can be reset to 0g while carrying a load (the function called "tare") to measure accurately even when above capacity. Really worth it for smaller batches!
