Looking for a gum recipe + question about vg/pg
submitted over 6 years ago by janoosch

Hey there people,

I started vaping a while ago and absolutely love it, took a hit from an ordinary cigarette the other day and i questioned how i was able to smoke them regulary a few months ago.

Now, I got into DIY juice because its fun and saves a ton of money.

Right now, I am looking for a great bubblegum recipe (preferably with strawberry), because i vaped one at a friends house and it was absolutely amazing, 20 euros for 60 ml though...

Also, I´ve been browsing different recipe websites online and many liquids had 25PG 75 VG. Would you advise me to do that as well or is an ordinary 50/50 base good enough?

I am a flavour chaser, I dont really care about clouds!

Would be awesome if you could help me out here! :)

Greetings from Germany

Greetings from NY.

I smoked maybe 5 cigs last year, and all were disgusting. My brother bought a pack last week (he's been vaping for a couple years) and that shit REEKS in the winter. We got in an altercation later that night for completely diff reasons although I'm sure that played into my subconscious.

I look at it like this: there is an inevitable transition/adjustment when switching from smoking cigs to vaping, so it would seem there would be inherent biological resistance trying to go back the opposite way as well?

I've been looking to try a bubblegum recipe myself but haven't gotten past browsing recipes on AlltheFlavors.com. Will do some research and get back here although I'm sure others will chime in.

About the VG/PG ratio, I would go 70/30. That seems to be pretty ubiquitous. 50/50 seems too PG heavy unless you are using salts/pod device but it is DIY hence all about personal preference :)

Welcome janoosch

IIRC, a few years back someone posted a recipe for bubblegum flavor from scratch... containing citrus, wintergreen, Cinnamon, and vanillin? Or maybe the wintergreen was menthol. Basically, the recipe was reverse engineering the original recipe for bubblegum, based on common flzvorings used back when bubblegum first was sold. Apparently, simply changing the citrus flavor would change between different styles of bubblegum. I'm sure if you search, you could find the recipe.

I like LA Bubblegum. Normally I'd add EM, but if you are going to add Strawberry, it's not necessary. Try 5% of LA B

Haven’t experience much with bubblegums in the past, but from what I have experienced, The Flavour Apprentice (TFA/TPA) Bubblegum is one of the best. This also happens to be one of the cheapest. I’d recommend this one. And as for a good strawberry, I have much experience in that area. The best strawberries you will find are:

Shisha Strawberry by Inawera

Ripe strawberry by TFA/TPA

Sweet Strawberry by Capella

These are amazing strawberries for beginners and experts, and they should be readily available at almost any flavouring retailer.

Hope this helps :)

Try 2% LA bubblegum and 4% TFA blueberry candy.

isnt 2% a little low??

Also, could i swap the blueberry candy for some strawberry flavor? Did you try this mix? Is it good?

I love a strong bubblegum flavor!

LA Bubblegum is powerful. Never tried it with strawberry.

This is gonna sound strange, but classic bubblegum is :

  • fruit flavor of choice (I like an orange, pineapple mix)
  • wintergreen
  • cinnamon
  • vanillin

you would have to tinker with the percentages, i can tell what it would be if you went all TFA, but they are kinda out of style around here lately. I will tell you that I used virtually no cinnamon or wintergreen, we are talking like .25-.5% and the fruit and vanillin were the main components, but that is due to different strengths of the flavors. it really us subjective and will be up to your tastes, but I think its possible to make a better bubblegum than you can buy flavor wise.

last time i made it was:

  • 2% orange cream
  • 2% pineapple
  • 2% strawberries and cream
  • .25% cinnamon
  • 1% wintergreen
  • 2% vanillin

That was close to perfect, i think the cinnamon was too strong, but isnt it always? all these were TFA flavors too.

HIC's Pink Bubblegum (Vaping Underground, 2014)

Super interesting article - HIC did some pretty stellar research on this.

You will have to try different VG/PG ratios to see what you like best. A 50/50 blend might not work so well in some atomizers but better in others. When you mix, always start small. I read too many times about wasted supplies.

.

I've used CAP Bubble Gum, TFA BG (Juicy) both are good flavors. I didn't care for LorAnn. I've read people claim the Flavorah makes a good one but haven't tried it. Some strawberries taste like candy, and some try to taste more natural. My favorite candy strawberry (I'd mix with gum), is Flavor West.

Could you tell us which bubble gum flavorings you have? Will make it easier to help you.

Im in the process of trying to emulate Goodlife Vapor's Frozen Zooka

My mix so far is decent but it's definitely a work in progress:

TFA Bubblegum (not Juicy) 6%

TFA Marshmallow 1%

TFA Strawberry 2%

FW Menthol 1%

You could tweak these percentages and even leave out the menthol until you get a profile you like. I've been making mine at 40/60 PG/VG.

This juice has been discontinued by Goodlife for a while so I am going by memory lol. Anybody have any suggestions?
