As always, the purpose of this thread is to gather the community to explore a category of flavor and its many uses. And it's also to have FUN!
Post recipes containing this week's Flavor of the Week, as the star or in a supporting role, with or without development notes. Talk about other people's recipes that use it. Compare and contrast different manufacturers' versions of the FOTW. Ask for help using that flavor in general or to achieve something specific, offer advice, brainstorm ideas, consider substitutions, suggest pairings... really anything at all as long as it's on topic.
#This week's flavor is...Blueberry!!!
How did that get to be the FOTW?

Alright, I've got one to share, or rather I have a few but I'll go with what I believe to be the fan favorite: BEWD.
The idea came to me when I was trying to figure out how to best use INW's pitaya/Dragonfruit, and had a sort of punny idea for a name and kinda worked backwards from there. The half-cocked idea lead to what is far too often the recipe I mix for daily use. It's sweet, cold, and sort of a tough to nail down fruit medley.
/u/ediblemalfunction here it is.
Blue Eyes White Dragon:
Blueberry (FW) 2.7%
Bilberry (FA) 2.7%
White Peach (FA) 2.7%
Peach Juicy (TFA) 2.7%
Pitaya (INW) 1.5%
WS-23 1.0%
Though it’s not from this year...recipe of the year right here ^^
> Pitaya
Being Dragonfruit?
Correct sir! The vendors like playing games with us!
I suppose it makes some sense that they'd "rebrand" their flavours for better recognition in other parts of the world (plantain, anana, etc)
That said, some of the more intricately named ones are a real pain in the ass to track down. Which strawberry? Vanilla extra SC? Colorless versions?
And then I just go out and straight up buy 30ml of FA Pineapple (Tire Smoke)
My god this is delicious...fantastic recipe!
This is a phenomenal recipe, I highly recommend you give it a shot if you have the flavors.

I've got one I'll toss into the ring.
So this was something I thought up when I wanted something heavy on blueberries and I figured what better than some ice cream. My first go around I went with Edibles Trinity. However, the ice cream end of the recipe absolutely crushed the blueberries. I mixed up a bottle and sent it off to u/Foment_Life. He made some tweaks to it and sent me something back and it was fantastic!
Subbing out TFA Blueberry Extra for Cap Blueberry Jam and halving the TFA VBIC and replacing it with TFA Vanilla Swirl into the mix brought this whole thing to life!
So even though he will most certainly deny it (just like u/AlfredPudding and u/ID10-T dispute) this is just as much his recipe as it is mine! Anyway, enough ramblings...
1% (FA) Bilberry
2% (FW) Blueberry
2% (CAP) Blueberry Jam
0.75% (FA) Marshmallow
2.5% (TPA) Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
2.5% (TPA) Vanilla Swirl
0.5% (OTHR) WS-23
You did all the leg work, I threw my 2 cents in. Recipe doesn't happen without your work. You could ignore everything I said and still have a fair recipe.
So... There's the Trinity. Does anything else need to be said.
Do I just do copy pasta or.... I think Fo is coming in to share something special.
Any sub for FW blueberry? Living in Austria I've found it impossible to get FW. And the online - sales ban makes it equally hard to order from abroad. Easy access to FA, CAP, TFA, Molinberry, some of Chef's Flavors, INW. No Purilium, no VTA, JF, FW, OOO, LA, Liquid Barn, Medicine Flowers, Nicotine River, etc.. Help would be greatly appreciated. Can't wait for the coffee - I'm a coffee addict...
VE stocks it
Chef's Flavours stock FW Blueberry.
According to u/n0tvegan's post they seem to deliver to Austria.
I've heard HS Blueberry was stellar, waiting on my shipment from NR to confirm.
Beyond that, the trinity is where its at. The recent alteration to include INW Lemon Mix is A++. By far the most well rounded bb profile.
FW BB = Candyish BB syrup to me TFA BB Extra = juicy fleshy BB. FA Bilberry = Fleshy sort of earthy tasting, but be careful. smells like moldy gym socks but in small quantities really does add a nice natural flavor to berries. The trinity can be modified to fit what you're after, or you can use any of the BB alone but I still think the trinity altogether is the best stone you could possibly use.
Waiting on HS from NR as well. Just an FYI - they updated their site to warn customers of delays getting orders out.
BRB gonna go shit post about it
My notes and such on blueberries. I'm not as detailed as some of the flavor reviewers here. I also have odd/broken tasters for some things in some respects. What I taste may not be what you taste.

FLAVOR NOTES
All mixed 12/27/18, tested on Recurve or Hadaly clone, SS 316L fused clapton single coil. 35-50w

VSO Blueberry
4%
Sweet and juicy but not really jammy, almost citric twang or tartness similar to fizzy sherbet, slightly bright blueberry hint. Thin. Percentage seems like it needs go way up.
5%
Sweetness dials up now, almost citric twang or tartness taken over by sweetness, blueberry starts to fill in more in the middle. Feels like there's sucralose in this. It has a lingering sweetness.
7%
Sweetness seems most prominent. Blueberry fills in nicely. It's like a blueberry macerated in sugar... or picking all the blueberries out of an off the shelf yogurt and ate them alone. Really pretty good blueberry but it still could use more in the middle. I'm hesitant to push it up to 10 without other ingredients. It's a got the slightest hint of harshness building without creams or others in a mix.
Conclusion
An authentic blueberry that's been sweetened or dried and reconstituted and sweetened. The potency is a little on the weak side. I feel like it's a little thin and could use some more darker notes in the middle to be really authentic. I see this being fantastic in a blueberry & cream recipe, ice cream or yogurt. It may need to be pushed to 10% and backed up with another flavor but if it works well it will be pretty authentic. Using this for bakery profiles it may need some help from a blueberry jam to push the weight of the darker blueberry notes and jammy-ness.

CAP Blueberry
4%
A bit of harshness. Pretty weak and uninteresting. A bit of tartness and dark blueberry notes. No real brightness. No real off notes just lacking the meat of a blueberry.
Conclusion
This is pretty thin. Has a bit of the dark berry notes but no real brightness. The tartness is not overwhelming but doesn't seem to fit like with other blueberries. I pushed this up to 6% and it never really filled in. The tartness and harshness just ramped up.

FW Blueberry
4%
Sweet ripe natural blueberry. The dark notes seem thin. The brighter top notes are equally thin. Slight harshness. Lingering sweetness and faint tang. Bit of a musty off note.
Conclusion
This is a good sweet authentic ripe blueberry. It's a bit thin all around but very natural. I get a slight musky garbage off note but it's easily covered with heavy creams. For this reason I don't really use it for fruit, candy or bakery recipes. Bakery especially accentuates that off not for me.

FLV Blueberry
2%
Nice deep, sweet blueberry flavor bordering on candy but not quite. Hardly any brightness or floral top. It's a solid dark part of the blueberry. Sweetness is right on the cusp of being too much.
Conclusion
I think this is a great blueberry for bakeries if you can supplement it with something that has brighter notes. It's sweet with the necessary darkness to be realistic and easily pushed toward jammy. Enter FLV Boysenberry. These 2 flavors belong together, in holy matrimony, forever.

INW Blueberry
1.5%
Really not a very good blueberry. Lacks brightness and that general "blue" darker notes. Thin, Muddy forest berry type mix. Has a musky note hiding in there. A bit of dryness and tang. No real sweetness. Not very potent or saturated.
Conclusion
This is not a good blueberry. It does have some mixed berry notes in there but it's far from blueberry. Reminds me of a darker forest fruit or harvest berry. I have had some luck using this with raspberries and strawberries to add depth and nuance. The musky note is covered easily with sweetness unlike FW Blueberry. This is pretty weak for an Inawera flavor and could probably be pushed up to 3% but I don't think it would work well in that role. It's better suited as an accent for other berries.

HS Blueberry
2%
Sweet candy blueberry. Leans more towards realistic than other candy blueberries. Starts off slightly dry then gets a little sweeter and juicy on the tail end. A little lingering tartness like a pixie stick. This can be pushed to 4% easily.
Conclusion
This is my favorite candy blueberry. The tartness is what pushes this candy for me. I think it it would be great at pushing blue raspberry into a fuller more saturated flavor. I'm definitely going to try it soon.

JF Blueberry
4%
Realistic, sweet, juicy. Darker blueberry notes balanced well with the brighter almost floral blueberry notes. The blueberry is very natural. No candy or syrup here. Just enough sweetness to make it ripe. Could go higher it seems.
5%
That's the ticket. Fills in nicely and becomes an excellent slightly sweetened realistic Ripe blueberry. Not too bright, not too dark.
Conclusion
I can see this being very very good in cream, yogurt, milkshake and ice cream recipes. It's smells just like it tastes, like fresh blueberry. This is a really really good blueberry. Top 3 for me. I'd love to see what may happen if you brighten it up a bit with some FE Lemon or INW Lemon Mix. Definitely top 3 in my book. Really surprised that there are only 6 private recipes using it on ATF and no recipes on ELR at all.
FA Bilberry
1%
Dark and sweet. Slightly jammy. Jamminess leads to sweetness and isn't overdone. Dark notes linger on the tongue with sweetness. The brighter top notes are subdued but still there. Slightly tart after the sweetness fades. Subtle musky off note that disappears as you vape it more.
Conclusion
Great blueberry. It's kind of dark and almost has some red Grape sweetness going on but the subtle blueberry top notes down that out. It's a little bit jammy but not enough to push it fully into a jam. The lack of brighter top notes keep this from being the perfect natural Ripe blueberry. The trinity is real. Top of the list.

VTA Bilberry Ripe
1%
Sweet and super jammy. Dark berry notes are really saturated. Blueberry brightness is right where it should be. Just a hint of tartness. Lingering sweetness and jamminess.
Conclusion
The best blueberry jam there is. This is a surprise sleeper because it's not supposed to be a blueberry jam. The dark notes are fully saturated and linger on the tongue for days. Seriously tastes like a spoonful of natural blueberry jam. Sweetness is very balanced and not overpowering. TOP 3 for sure.

FLV Blueberry Muffin
3%
The blueberry here is pretty bright. The dark notes remind me of blueberries in syrup or dehydrated blueberries. Just like a muffin mix. Not a ton of bakery right off the bat. The cake/muffin comes in slowly at the end. Light and fluffy.
Conclusion
This is a really nice blueberry muffin. The blueberry notes are spot on tinned or dehydrated blueberries and ride nicely on top. The cake is light and fluffy and not at all dense. This is really really close to those little blueberry muffin bites. Maybe could use a little pound cake or yellow cake to push the cake a little more but it's pretty close to perfect. Top notch!

FW Blueberry Graham Waffle
3%
Cinnamon Graham right off the bat. Subtle maple note that leads into a bit of breadiness. Not yeasty at all. Blueberry comes last and is pretty subtle. Mostly jammy dark blueberry with very little brightness. Its sweet but not overly sweet. The cinnamon leads to an off note but it's covered mostly by the rest of the mix.
Conclusion
I'm surprised that this is pretty good. I expected it to be disgusting. The cinnamon graham is a little strange for the waffle profile but it's a good strange. I think the subtle maple mixes with the cinnamon to create the start of an off note. The blueberry isn't very strong here but what is there is dark and jammy. The blueberry could use a little help from a blueberry jam or maybe even FLV Blueberry Muffin. Actually pretty decent.

WF Blueberry Smoothie
3%
Sweet with a lot of body. Dark blueberry mush. Brighter blueberry notes are pretty subdued. No tartness or real dairy here.
Conclusion
This is like a bunch of blended up blueberries with no yogurt or dairy. I don't have much to say about it other than it's a bit strange. The darker blueberry notes seem pretty filled in but lack depth. Brightness and tartness very lacking.

CAP Blueberry Pomegranate
4%p
Sweet and tart. The pomegranate is pretty prominent. It keeps this tart and almost has a red raspberry feel. Blueberry slides in afterwards. Dark blueberry notes with a bit of jamminess. Pomegranate accentuates the bright blueberry notes and pushes them more forward. Slightly waxy and soft but not offensive.
Conclusion
This is really pretty good. I expected it to be overly sweet because of the stevia but it's not. It's bright, tart, and sweet. The pomegranate is the star but the blueberry isn't really hiding either. It's just hard for a blueberry to stand up to. The red raspberry notes mix well with the blueberry and keep it nice and bright. I could see vaping this stand alone or mixed with some lemonade.

RF Blueberry and Cream SC
2%
Blueberry sweetness and brightness up front. Dark blueberry notes are thin. Cream comes behind and is pretty thin as well. No vomit or alcohol off notes at all.
Conclusion
This is a pretty thin flavor that really needs some help. The cream doesn't come across in either mouthfeel or taste really. It just makes this slightly fluffy and soft. The blueberry leans natural but isn't filled out all the way. Needs more dark blueberry notes and tartness. Darker than your mum's butthole but at 2% won't wreck your coils.

VT Blueberry Milkshake
4%
Smells like vomit. Doesn't taste like it thankfully. Tart yogurt creaminess. Darker blueberry notes. No jamminess. No brighter blueberry notes. Pretty 2 dimensional.
Conclusion
This is much more like a blueberry yogurt than a milkshake. It's not terrible if you can hold your nose to vape it. Just holding the atomizer up to your face is pretty putrid. Gladly it doesn't taste like it smells but the smell alone is enough to put me off of this.

RF BLUEBERRY Jam with Toast SC
2%
Up front you get the toast. It's slightly buttery and bready. Not yeasty at all. Blueberry jam is subtle, jammy and sweet. Mostly darker blueberry notes with a little brightness. Almost like a black raspberry but not quite.
Conclusion
This is actually really good. The toast part is almost like the crisp edges on french toast without the eggy middle parts. To me this is more like blueberry french toast with no syrup. Blacker than your mum's butthole but you only need 2-3% so it doesn't murder coils. I feel like if you added a touch of VT Bilberry Ripe to this is would be outstanding.

LA Blueberry
8%
Sweet, halfway between candy and jammy. Darker blueberry notes have a bit of funky sweat offness. No real tartness. Brighter blueberry notes are very subtle even this high.
Conclusion
Pretty much a one dimensional candy blueberry. The dark notes lean towards jam with a little blueberry skin funk. I would expect more at the percentage you have to use to even taste it but it's just not there. May work well with other candy blueberries with some lemon to brighten it up.

TFA Blueberry Candy
4%
Very sweet. Maltol seems to be muting the dark notes leaving just the middle and a bit of candy brightness. Just a little bit of back of the throat tartness.
Conclusion
A pretty good candy blueberry. It's probably full of EM. It has that EM perception of sweetness without being a sweetener. No real dark notes at all. The bright sweetness lingers pretty well on the tongue. This could turn a darker blueberry brighter and sweeter. Beware using other Maltol laden ingredients though. You'll just mute everything.
Wow holy crap man, thank you for sharing all of this. I think it would be great to repost all of this to the front page and call it “blueberry flavor roundup” or something like that. Get some discussion going instead of just having all this juicy info hiding in an FOTW post that’s a week old. Unless you’re shy (ha) or just want to reward people who use the FOTW to look for info
SC Blueberry
2%
Candy blueberry, kind of dry, leans a little bit Raspberry with a subtle floral note. That makes it seem a little blue raspberryish. Could be pushed higher but the dryness may be an issue.
Conclusion
This is a decent candy berry, not realistic with the raspberry notes I'm getting. The dryness may be an issue but could be fixed easily with some pear or cactus in a mix. I'd push this to 3-4% in a berry mix. Probably higher with creams.

VT Blueberry
3%
Tart tangy blueberry skin up front. Subtle bright blueberry notes and subtle sweetness underneath. Seems thin. The tartness makes it a bit like a sour candy, but it's not candyish or overly sweet. Darker blueberry notes are lacking.
Conclusion
This has a nice tartness and the brighter blueberry notes are there but thin. It may need to be pushed higher. Seems to be missing most of the middle darker notes. Might pair well with TFA blueberry extra to fill it in some. It will definitely need some help from other blueberries.

TPA Blueberry (extra)
3%
All the dark notes without much blueberry brightness. Lacks in much needed blueberry brightness. Sweet and has a bit of tang. Ever so slightly harsh. Realistic and not candy at all.
Conclusion
This is a good dark, natural, skin part of a blueberry. The sweet and tart are nice, pretty natural, and not overdone. It's definitely not a whole blueberry and needs help with the brighter notes. This is why it works so well in the blueberry trinity. The other 2 fill in the gaps where this is lacking.

TPA Blueberry (wild)
3%
Kind of strange. A bit of a funky musty note turns into almost jammy dark blueberry. Almost. Has a tart almost astringent aspect that reminds me of rhubarb. This needs serious help.
Conclusion
Very odd. Thin. Seems like it wants to be a blueberry but misses the mark everywhere. The dark blueberry notes are musty and don't quite have enough oomph. The bright blueberry notes seem astringent instead of tangy. There are too many good blueberries available to mess around with this one. It needs so much help it's not really worth it.

VT Blueberry Candy
3%
Initial impression is blueberry cotton candy or blueberry marshmallows but not sickening sweet. There's some cheap tasting vanillin in here. A little harshness and dryness. The initial impression starts leaning towards a sweet coating with jammy blueberry underneath as you vape it. That marshmallow thing keeps sticking out at me. Has a strange light cooked, raisiny dark off note. It's not over powering at this percentage.
Conclusion
This is more like a grown up European candy you'd find in grandma's purse in a nice tin. It's not over sweet, super candy American kids stuff. This is pretty good outside of the slight off note I get. The vanillin makes it lean towards candy or marshmallow. Dryness keeps pushing it marshmallow to me. Kind of like marshmallow corn starch dryness. I could see pairing it with some Boysenberry, Blackcurrant or Lemonade. Trying to make a blueberry marshmallow cereal may be a good idea too.

CAP Blueberry Cinnamon Crumble
4%
Very Cinnamony. Same cinnamon as CDS. Cinnamon overpowers most of the bakery going on here but you get a bit of crunchy texture leading into soft bakery like sugar cookie. Blueberries slide in last with some jamminess and darker notes. No real blueberry brightness fighting through that cinnamon.
Conclusion
Not bad but very cinnamon forward. The bakery could use a push from some AP or a crunchy biscuit. Blueberry need more dark jam notes but it's not terrible. I could see using this as a base for a cinnamon blueberry bakery.

CAP Silverline Blueberry Extra
4%
Berry notes taste a lot like harvest berry. Not much dark blueberry notes. Subtle sweetness and slight jamminess. Brighter notes seem like a mix of strawberry and raspberry rather than blueberry. No real tartness or skin notes.
Conclusion
Really not a blueberry to me. Tastes like mixed berries. I can see this pairing well with lemonade or another more jammy blueberry in bakeries. It's not a bad flavor, just not really a blueberry.

CAP Blueberry Jam
4%
Jammy, sweet, dark berry taste, almost blackberry or blackcurrant mixed with blueberry brightness, the darkness of the berry almost has a black tea note. The dark berry notes and blueberry brightness save this. The dark berry notes are almost boozy right up front and feel more like Black Raspberry. It's really very good but it's more than blueberry jam. Could probably push this to 5-6% and it would be a full flavored, sweet, jammy black raspberry and blueberry jam.
Conclusion
It's pretty decent stand alone. I love dark berries like Blackcurrant and Blackberry so I like this even though it's not accurate to the profile. I can only imagine what this would be like with bakeries, toast, or even in a tobacco mix with some darkish stone fruit like plum or dark cherry. It's almost boozy in warmth, jammy and pretty good in the dark berry department.

VT Blueberry Jam
3%
A little bit harsh. Dark, slightly warm jammy notes are there but pretty subtle. Very little blueberry brightness but has a touch of blueberry tang. Almost grapey. Sweet but not overly sweet. Kind of thin. No off notes but not very saturated either. Seems like it's missing the middle or could be pushed a lot higher.
Conclusion
This flavor seems pretty thin. The sweetness and darker notes that create jam just aren't there enough. It's missing blueberry brightness and the darker notes seem thin. This flavor isn't what it could be in my opinion.

RF Blueberry SC
2%
Sweet, syrupy. Like a natural syrup you'd put on pancakes or ice cream. Natural dark blueberry but sweet. This seems like it could be pushed higher. No harshness but it gave me a little tickle.
Conclusion
Good syrupy cooked blueberry. Dark berry goodness. Not really a bright blueberry. Would probably work well with waffles or pancakes. The sweetness would probably work nicely in Lemonades as well.
I’ve almost exclusively used TFA blueberry extra to mix, what are some others people really love?
All depends on what you want to get out of it. Ed's Trinity is very natural, but for as tasty as it is I can't honestly say I use it religiously myself. Cap blueberry jam can be an excellent base option for a blueberry syrup or candy.
I been eyeing that blueberry jam for a minute, both as a texturizer and what you said. Seems like a lot of mixed reviews of it, but I'll eventually grab it anyway.
Another I've been eyeing is the FLV Blueberry muffin for a cooked/baked blueberry. Thought I grabbed it but I guess I didn't.
I did grab Purilum Berry Blue just for the shit of it so I can report back what that's like....supposed to be blueberry with some other blue berries init.
Right on.
I continue to look at mixing in much the same way I look at cooking. Which is to say, if I can get closer to the root flavor I'm looking to work with I will, so something like blueberry muffin or banana nut bread are flavors I don't even begin to register interest for until I have exhausted a good handful of attempts to get there from various baser ingredients.
That said, I spun my wheels for entirely too long trying to get a cereal flavor I liked without going right for a cereal base, so what the hell do I know.
I'm currently enjoying FLV Blueberry Muffin @ 4%, standalone. I've been vaping it for the last couple days on a MTL device... So it might be potent enough for pod devices? I don't know for sure, but maybe someone with a pod might want to try. It looks like it vapes fairly clean, also.
I swear I've given a fair chance to the Holy Blueberry Trinity, but I can only enjoy it on a lemonade mix...No. Blueberry Muffin seems to be it. Also, the bottle I'm using was mixed 20 days ago, and it is better now than then. It hasn't faded yet.
Chef's UK? I'm not sure if they deliver to Austria. Some UK shops don't. I know one offline shop in Vienna who sales few of Chef 's Flavors. I recently bought Devon Custard, Spotted Dick and Caramel Cappuccino. But I haven't seen fruits, except one or two mixes. I' ll ask them via email. I was even thinking of visiting to Great Britain... Just go there for a shopping trip when one of the Expos takes place. I haven't much money though. Well, I'll see.
I've tried tons of blueberry flavors and flavor West is King for me. most recently I finally got around to trying the real flavors SC blueberry that I've had for a while and it was just ok it's really dark like fa bilberry. I did also try real flavors SC blueberry acai and that flavor is excellent. I always hear really good things about Hangsen blueberry but haven't tried it yet
I made a fun blueberry recipe recently but left the file of my recipe on my work computer remindme! 38hours post blueberry white chocolate krispy recipe
Got to my computer sooner than I thought:
3.6% TFA Blueberry Wild
.4% TFA Sour
4% TFA Rice Crunchies
2% TFA Marshmallow
1% TFA White Chocolate

Started out as a clone for Ethos Blueberry Krispie but then decided to add the white chocolate for fun. I have access to a commercial steeper but didn't run it through for long so an overnight steep should do.

I know flavor percents are pretty high so if you wanted to tone it down, the ratios are 1.8 BB wild, .2 Sour, 2 Rice Crunchies, 1 marshmallow, .5 white chocolate.
