Can i steep juice and then add my nicotine after the steep?
submitted almost 7 years ago by Darkslayerx123

Will this effect flavor I just started mixing and I have multiple people experimenting with nicotine content so I would like to mix a solid batch of zero nic and then add nicotine at different concetrations to different bottle

I do this all the time. I will make a batch of a flavor I like that gets better with age, such as a vanilla butter cookie recipe I made, and I will add the nicotine to a bottle then fill with the hatched flavor. Works well for me and keeps the nicotine from degrading in the liquid.

Same. To my knowledge as this is the way I’ve done it basically since day 3, it works better for “me”. Not saying it’s proper or the perfect way but it works for me and saves a bunch of nic. Nothing worse than having a 600ml batch made at 3 nic and mama or cousin wants a bottle of 1.5. Now I’m mixing another batch and it’s not going to be right for a bit.

Peppered oxidized nic can’t be the proper way.

This just makes more sense period.

I want to know this as well. I need to import nicotine and would rather not waste it on bad juices I've tried mixing (I'm very new to DIY). I found this post that has a few answers to your question.

Edit : another post here and here

Yes. Some juices (custards especially) need a long steep, but nicotine can oxidize and alter your juice during the steeping process.

Also, higher concentrations of nicotine will also affect flavor, so better off keeping it out until you're ready to dispense.

Yes, it affects taste to an extent, but that has more to with having nic in there at all- not steep time. Does it affect taste enough for most people to notice? Nope.

If you like the taste doing it like that, there isn’t a wrong way to DIY. However, the nicotine mixing with the other flavors, during the steeping process, helps the juice mix altogether an makes it to where you can’t taste the nicotine so much.
