Is 38°c too hot for steeping?
submitted almost 7 years ago by Dadspeakingwhodis

Just wanting to know if 38°c/100°f is too hot to steep, I live on a very hot remote area and inside the house is around 35° to 38°c everyday would this cause any flavour degradation at all?

Not really... it's not good for your flavors or your nic to last all that long, but as long as your bottles don't have much headroom for flavor volatiles to evaporate into you shouldn't have much problem.

you can easily ruin a mix by having it sit at 45 degrees for a couple hours, I can't imagine the temps you're experiencing being good. Try to keep things stored below 25c if possible

You probably want to keep at least your nic in the fridge or freezer in a ziplock bag, but other things should be mostly ok. If you can make a passive cooler it might give you a little more piece of mind.

Even if ambient temp is that high, I don't think it'll do much. Just try to keep the juice in a cool dark place. I put mine in a drawer in the middle of a room on the ground floor. Temperature also gets pretty high here (anywhere between 28-35c) but I didn't notice much degredation. My nic tho is a bit yellowish, but it's still fine to vape.

It'll get dark a bit faster so you'll have ugly cotton but I haven't noticed a difference apart from that. Longevity is probably also cut down but I try to finish my juice before it goes bad.

I steep juice on the dash of my car in summer.... Even just a few hrs on there did wonders... 😊
