GG2EZ - watermelon/strawberry inspired by EzDuzIt on Ice by Ruthless
submitted almost 7 years ago by matthewkocandaGrilled Stick

Hey.

Been a minute.

So I have been basically been vaping really simple mixes lately that, while good, haven't really been all that exciting. Furthermore, I think I'm just a fruit cuck now that doesn't seem to really enjoy anything heavy except for my IPA Smoke recipe from time to time. So I remembered that a while back, I actually was going to try to clone EzDuzIt by Ruthless because it was one of my favorites back when I first started vaping. Well, that first attempt was quite a ways away from the mark, so I just dropped it. Here we are again, and I'm not trying to clone it, but use the profile to make something maybe better, maybe worse, but definitely something I've been enjoying. Also, I guess this could also be seen as an exercise in creating something more "commercially" acceptable. Recipe and notes below, as always.

GG2EZ RECIPE - All The Flavors Link

  • FA Watermelon at 2.5%
  • FLV Watermelon at 1.5%
  • FA Strawberry at 2.5%
  • TPA Strawberry Ripe at 4%
  • FLV Wild Melon at 1%
  • CAP Super Sweet to taste (I use 2 drops per 20ml)
  • WS-23 to taste (I use about 0.75%)
  • Steep Time - Shake and Vape (best after an overnight steep)

FLAVOR NOTES

THE WATERMELON(FA Watermelon, FLV Watermelon, FLV Wild Melon)I've been using FA watermelon for my melon note for a long time, but I always found it to be a little too subtle and "realistic" for a mix. I didn't realize that I even had FLV Watermelon, but upon smelling the bottle, I realized this would add that candied and artificial watermelon that was needed. Anything over 2% with FLV Watermelon tends to get a little harsh and offensive, but around 1.5, paired with FA's option, it's really fucking pleasant. Add that touch of FLV Wild Melon, and you've got a nice, fully fleshed profile that has some real depth and punch to it.

THE STRAWBERRY(FA Strawberry, TPA Strawberry Ripe)Well, fuck me I guess. I have been pairing FA Strawberry and CAP Sweet Strawberry for so long, that I forgot about what TPA Straw Ripe can do to a mix. This combo provides us with a back-note of strawberry that doesn't overpower the watermelon, but adds some juicy backbone to it. I've found that lately, any mix that I use my normal FA/CAP combo on, it just ends up being a strawberry forward mix with accents of whatever else I had in there. This combination, at this percent, allows the strawberries to stay in back to support our melons.

THE OTHERS(CAP Super Sweet/WS-23)You already know what these are for. I don't normally like adding sweetener, but given that I was going for a more commercial idea here, I added two drops to a 20ml, and it's perfect. Brings some extra brightness to the fruits, while giving a little more mouthfeel overall. Just sweetness, obviously, but it's the right amount. WS-23 can be used to your liking, but 1% is a little too much, 0.5 - 0.75% will be perfect and not mute the fruits in the mix with ice.

So there it is. Short, sweet, and a pretty good way to maybe close out 2018. There's something else I've been messing around with that may be ready to drop before the year is up. But mix this shit up, lemme know what you think. I've been gone for a while, I hope you fuckers missed me.

This looks simple and tasty. I've been using your IPA Hops/Lime combo for my own straight NEIPA juice. So thanks for that

Hell yeah. That IPA recipe drove me fucking insane. Trying every "tropical" fruit I had in an attempt to make it have that citrus note without overpowering the pine/hops. Guava, pineapple, mango, it all ended up tasting like shit. After trying all the tough shit, I ended up just keeping it simple. Who knew that would be the right move? Anyway, happy to hear it's working for you. Do you have that recipe up anywhere? I love me a good NEIPA.

It's a work in progress. Still not perfect. But a great pair with an actual NEIPA. So not public on ATF yet, but it's

INW Yakima Hops 1.75%

INW Cactus 0.5%

INW Lemon Mix 0.5%

FA Lime Cold Pressed 0.5%

WS-23 0.35%

I'll have to try some lemon or lime.

I've been working on something similar, but have been experimenting with blood orange

'Scuse me for asking this....I've seen the Yakima Hops in several recipes now. What exactly does the hop bring to a recipe....is it possible to describe? I'm only familiar with hops in beer and when I did home brewing years ago. Does it enhance certain foods also? And what exactly does it bring to a fruit recipe? Honestly curious. Tnx.

Those are rookie numbers, you gotta put your purse away and pump those numbers up to 3.5%
