The initial flavor is spot on, but the mouth feel that I normally get from a pod is not there. Also, the aftertaste is not very fruity like a mango, it’s kind of got a chemically aftertaste.
Ingredients Used (30ml bottle) : LNW Nicotine Salts (VG) 100mg/ml - 18ml That would equal 60mg/ml. | Vegetable Glycerine - 3ml | Propylene Glycol - 6ml | Sweetener (TFA) - 1.5ml | Mango (CAP) - 1.5ml So that’s 10% flavor.
I was thinking about buying this flavor from LNW called “smooth” that enhances the mouth feel. And I feel like the aftertaste has to be from a different flavor that I could buy, similar to CAP’s mango. Also, is there a better way to find the perfect flavor mix without making a ton of useless bottles and wasting nicotine? I know it’s trial and error but there has to be a more efficient way to achieve this.
Serious advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
Good single flavor fruit profiles are not that simple. They sometimes include multiple flavors that each bring something different to the table that create a good single flavor profile. Also sometimes completely unrelated flavors in small quantities to bring other elements like wetness and thickness into the mix. Now I have zero experience with mango flavors but this has been the case with the majority of other fruit flavors I've experimented with. The individual concentrates alone were pretty underwhelming but several combined created something far better.
I read this one dude’s recipe online and he added flv mango, cap mango, and drops of cantaloupe and dragon fruit to come close to juul pods. I have the cap mango, cantaloupe and dragon fruit flavors but I think I’m missing that mango aftertaste where the flv mango would probably come in clutch. I didn’t think that I would need a second mango because I mean how different could they actually be? Pretty different apparently.
The same flavor from different manufacturers are quite different. I have over half a dozen strawberry flavorings and none of them are anything like the others
See FOTW thread on Mango. Whatever "Smooth" is, it's not going to do what you want. What ratio is your juice?
Those smooth additives do tend to give more 'fluff' to the vapour in the mouth, I think the magic ingredient is triacetin.
Would this work better than marshmallow?
Hmm. In my small experience, marshmallow (at least Flavor Art's) adds more heft and body to the background of the sweet flavour, whereas smooth from TFA or FA Vape Wizard effects mouthfeel rather than flavour (although I have seen it described as rounding the edges of a mix and mellowing harsh mixes too). Triacetin is described as having an oily mouthfeel so I think that's where the sensation of density to the vapour comes from.
The juice is 70VG / 30PG. But I’m thinking about switching to 60 VG / 40 PG.
If it's for your Juul, it should be 50/50 or more PG
I’ve noticed a lot of leaking when I went that low on VG for one of the batches. And JUUL uses somewhere around 65VG / 35PG. And that smooth flavor I mentioned says that it increases mouth feel which is what I am also looking for. But if PG/VG matters more than that, I will be sure to do that instead.
Try going with 8% mango and 2% TPA Marshmallow. I think that will help..
Ohh will that give it a mouth feel?
Or if by off chance you have FA custard premium that would be even better but it’s one of those hard to find FANA flavors so probably everyone has marshmallow lol..
60mg/ml? Are nic salts generally mixed at higher percentages than freebase? I use to smoke pack a day and 6mg/ml is fine for me. That amount of nic just seems crazy to me.
Yeah salts are mixed at way higher percentages because there is very little throat hit. I’ve never gotten a buzz off of 6mg. Maybe your mod is crazy and produces a lot of vapor. I’m using a juul which is very weak. You also can’t use nic salts with mods I’ve heard, probably because they are just too powerful.
Yeah I get pretty big clouds from my vape though I need to vape like crazy to get dizzy. Yeah juuls don't make lots of vapor so it makes sense. I guess you could use salts with bigger mods just with much lower percentages.
I heard this story from the owner of a vape shop where this one girl used salt nicotine in her atomizer vape at a high percentage and it had bad spit back. So the power combined with the spitback was enough to get her to foam at the mouth and pass out ALLEGEDLY. I thought she was full of shit though because my cousin put salts in his atomizer and never had an experience like that.
"Can't use nic salts with mods"
This is completely untrue and those who spread this misinformation are fucking idiots. Don't listen to them. Just ate so currently vaping 50mg in a le concorde on a bmm rico. In case you don't know what that is, it's rda + squonk mod + 50mg to the dome. Vape whatever you want in whatever device your comfortable with. Simple as that.
> You also can’t use nic salts with mods I’ve heard, probably because they are just too powerful.
You can, but I wouldn't reccomend commercial 35mg juice. I know people who have switched to salts and use it just like regular nic at like 3mg.
Try a drop or two of Apple Cider Vinegar.
Yes, Seriously.
So how's the Juul replicating going? Just ordered some LNW salts and a couple watermelon flavors to start working on it myself. I've vaped a lot of different juices on a lot of different set ups over the last 5 years and once I tried salts I finally completely quit smoking. I've had so many different issues with each pod system I've tried, and each salt nic juice, that I finally reluctantly tried a juul even though I didn't want to play into their corporate silicon valley over priced game. Their system and particularly mango is basically the best vape experience I've ever had, so I see why they get away with such exorbitant prices. But I'm not gonna just give them my whole savings account to vape a pod a day. I'm too cool and smart for that. 😉
So after being interested in DIY juice all this time I'm going to finally try my hand at it. I don't really like ANY commercial salt nic juice I've ever bought. I'm not sure exactly which combo of things make me basically hate them all. But the lack of throat hit compared to juul is possibly the biggest. I also find them all to be weirdly offensive in various ways. Curious to hear about your progress. I've found a couple other ppl talking about making salt nic juice and juul type juice in particular, but hardly any one is talking about it from what I can tell.
Well, any suggestions would still have the misfortune of tasting like mango, which tastes like that horrid peach flavor. But if you really want that, switch to flv mango, use cap SS instead of tfa sweetener (or better yet use stevia instead so the coil lasts a little longer. Then if you want, MTS Wizard from FA.
