Dark Tobacco Suggestion
submitted almost 7 years ago by umbra4235

HI I'm looking for a good dark tobacco flavoring. FLV TFA or FA. Any suggestions?

I have fa black fire and tfa western, and flv turkish is good but not quite there.

IDK if I wanna buy FLV Kentucky or virgina.

How is Latakia?

FLV Red Burley has a pretty decent earthy “darkness” to it. Kentucky is a good one, but it’s got some top notes to it that would prevent me from calling it “dark.” Virginia is more top.

As in how good is FA Latakia? Or what does real Latakia taste like? I suppose I’ll answer both. FA Latakia isn’t all that good. Flirts pretty hard with bad, really. I used to like it with Black Fire, but then I found much better tobacco flavors and realized I was tolerating it more than I was liking it. Kind of has a wet wood kind of thing going on. FA Black Fire is actually much closer to actual Latakia than their Latakia. Real Latakia, much like FA Black Fire, has a fairly intense campfire smokiness to it. But where Black Fire has some sweetness and some top notes, Latakia has some spiciness and deeper notes. Almost like the way your shirt smells after a campfire. An almost musty smokiness. Not as crisp and bright as FA Black Fire.

Thanks! Maybe Red Burley. I know some FA taste anise or peppery thats a problem. Good to see others are into that good MTL tobaccs. I have Dark Vapor but too chocolateish. 7eaves too peppery and strange. Others have som spice to it like FA Burley and Tuskan Reserve. Thats nice, like FLV Turkish. TFA western, FA Supreme and Virgina is my favs brown light tobacc bases. But have to find better daily dryer slight asky dark. "tolerating it more than I was liking it" That is real. Im tired of just tolerating. I know what flavor I imagine, but dont know where to start, now I have to try more of the FLVs. How is Cured or Native? Maybe FLV Turkish / FA Black fire would work for a latakia. But Turkish is very bright to me. My favorite tobaccos is actually from two closed systems. New BO vape caps "American Tobacco" and puff One mini "black Jack". Trying to clone them for my mtl rda sqonk.

Is there any reason INW is off the table? There’s not really many FA or TFA that I like. Mostly INW, FLV, and Hangsen.

No not really just know they changed the flavors. I actually found the "Compact" Black Jack tobacco concentrate that One Mini have in their pods. It's Italian. I heard about "Black for pipe" INW. Which INW would u suggest? You dont like TFA Western?

I just picked up Native by Flavorah and I'm really liking it (for reference my two favorite tobaccos are FLV Turkish and Red Burley). Native is on the earthy, woody, smokey, spicy side, with just a tiny hint of sweet candy cinnamon at the bottom.

Nice I just made a mixup of what I had and turned out complex dark and nice dry. Not too intense. 7leaves / Dark Vapure is a workaround but canceled out each others strange notes imo.

7 Leaves Ultimate (7 foglie) (FA) - 2.00%

(dark leaf cancels this coca notes of dark vapure)

Black Fire (FA) - 0.50%

(dark smoke dry)

Dark Vapure (FA) - 2.00%

(dark brown slightly mutes peppery notes of 7leaves while)

Shade (FA) - 1.50%

(gray dry slight bright)

Turkish Tobacco (Flavorah) - 0.50%

(slight spice bright dry)

50/50 vg/pg for dryer feel.

8mg MTL

Descriptions for the closed system one:

"Dark tobacco, bitter with typical and essential strong woody notes."

well, that is a very wide term, and what is dark for you does not mean it is dark me etc...

I mix INW black for pipe 3% and FA Black fire1%...and l get a nice dark flavour.

On the other hand I vape Black fire as a one shot

StixxMixx Black Cavendish is really great.

Or try all the StixxMixx tobacco range...you will find something that suits you.

Can't seem to find INW Black for pipe. Not on Chefs Flavors at least. Everybody is mentioning it.

You'll pretty much want to order from inawera.com to get the best selection. All the tobacco Absolut flavors. Classic for Pipe Black/Dark/gold. Am4a. Probably good ducat. You want them all.

Surprised more people haven't mentioned FLV Connecticut shade. Or tatanka.

Black fire single at 3%? = :P Campfire.
Yes I agree "dark" is pretty wide but I think there is some general consensus about what works as better dark and dry tobacco concentrate without becoming anise or some.

I know, but i love it.

I would not mind prosciutto flavour either :)

But these tobacco recepies are so easy to mess up, and i generally avoid more then 2 or 3 conc. in a mix.

I never put any of the vanilla or fruity or sweet stuff in it because i find that they take over. But thats me, and i probably do something wrong.

prosciutto lol, no I really agree and it's more advanced to balance max 3 good flavorings. I used to mix a lot of flavors but now prefer 2 fruit and cream or max 3 baccos with maybe some additive. Never fruit in tobacco bec I like bright red fruit or dark tobacco on the other end - totally contrast and separated experience.

I haven't gotten this one yet, but it sounds right up your dark alley.

Stixx Mixx Dark Fire: A must have for any shag lover. Thick, dark, and smokey.

That sounds great! Only it's NET and looking for a regular bacco. Tho I love NETs and find them generally better in that they more authentic - but sometimes they get a little too organicy hehe. If you know what I mean. But ey thanks, I have to try Strixx one day. I have this NET which is similar and amazing https://www.latabaccheria.net/en/prodotto/hells-mixtures-10ml-baffometto/

have you tried them? do they goung your coils?

So far i found that all the NET are having more or less similar range Kentucky, Virginia...and thats why taste more or less the same.

The largest range is by Naturalyextractedtobacco.com..but he asks for 20% and although they are best, but it burns the couls like hell

StixxMixx is clean and has a good flavour.

Yes, I've tried La Tabacceria Kentucky, Cavendish, Virginia, English Mixture and Baffometto - and It's my favorite net. Very clean flavor, maybe turns a little veggie if stay in squonk bottle for too long, but I use glass bottles to mix its dry and fresh if I drip. The singles don't gunk too much, but medium. 5 day coil. Now, English Mixture is Really good and aromatic but 2 day coil type gunk.
