I've been searching around this sub looking for nic salt recipes that are ideal for pod/coil longevity. What I've found is that higher PG (50/50) and no sweeteners should be a good start to avoid clogging the small coils from thickness and caramelization, but I haven't seen anyone actually recommend a recipe.
I plan on keeping it basic like 20% Ripe strawberry etc and will report back if no one comes through with a recipe
There is a post exactly like this every week. Please search and read those posts.
Do not use 20% of Strawberry Ripe.
I just looked through every post that included "pod" and "salt". There were no discussions about recipes for pod longevity.
65VG 35PG is what i consider to be the best ratio for coil longevity for my smok novo pod device. Flavor extract varies in that some are worse than others. Most important factor IMO has got to be the concentration of flavor. I honestly keep my pod juice around 7-8% and with tobacco around 5 with AP, it darkens coils but thats aside the point because it dosent affect flavor like it would fruit profiles. Since i switched to tobacco my coils have lasted so much longer and you can even convert older pods designated for fruit into a tobacco pod but you can never go back untill you swap the cotton. On my novo i havnt found out how to build my own coil, just swap cotton- even though i have a wire kit. when a wire starts to corrode its time to ditch it, they can start to stain the cotton red and youve probably inhaled metals as an aeresol at that point since they powder the cotton. I also mix 16MG only
>ripe strawberry isnt great as a standalone IMO and i would not use it above 7% ever. its honestly weak at 7% but it fades and leaves a weird taste if you go higher unless you pair it with some other strawberry that can hold its own at 4-5% like a candy profile, capella sweet strawberry or INW shisha strawberry is my favorite, its a taffy with authentic strawberry paired in there. as a general rule anything above 12% flavoring total is probably too high, people will complain my juice fuck their coils up when i push 12%
Thanks for the info man, this is exactly what I was looking for. Up until this point I'd never considered using tobacco flavors, but you just sold me. Is there a specific flavor that you'd recommend I pick up next order? Or do you usually use a combination for your tobacco mixes?
Join DIY or DIE on discord to chat with mixers or simply watch his YouTube vids. Im new to tobacco and I don't like ry4, there's threads dedicated to tobaccos. Im most interested in INW and FLV tobaccos. I havnt been able to get my hands on black for pipe cus it's always selling out. Make sure you get Acetyl Pyrazine though, and koolada/menthol if that's ur thing.
OH yeah, and if you got good eyesight just look down the hole of the mouthpiece to inspect it every fill. on my novo I can clearly see a section of the coil and that'll tell you alot about the condition of your coil and if it's breaking down. Do yourself a favor and throw it out when it gets bad cus that's the only part of vaping I'm concerned about is inhalation of metals as an aerasol.
>inw Canadian tobacco 7/10 TFA Ry4 double 5/10 Capella original caramel at 0.5% is a better enhancer for a blend of tobacco than ry4 ever was. AP is a must try.
I don't have a recipe to recommend you, which I know is what you're asking.
However, please don't do 20% ripe strawberry. I promise you'll hate it.
Anything helps man. Have you tried 20% in a pod system with high nic?
No but 20% is very high. I'm usually all for lots of flavoring, but that's a shitload.
There tends to be a sweet spot for flavor percentages specific to the flavor. Exceeding that amount won’t enhance or extend flavor, but actually cause it to mute itself, so you taste it less. 20% of nearly any flavor will have this effect regardless of device or nic. Most people start around 5-6% for single flavors, but that varies significantly on the flavor. I recommend getting suggested percentages from ELR’s flavor listings.
This reads like a thinly veiled “give me recipes” thread..
If you look through the 2-3 or 3-5 flavors recipe post from last week it might help...that’s what u want to focus on for a pod is a recipe w the fewest ingredients.. if you find one that seems good but you want to boost it fir your pod then you can just up each ingredient a few %’s ....;)
You are asking the question that has been on my mind for ages now, surely someone must have some solid tried and tested reciepes or experiences to share! :)
Or if you want single flavors I think there was one like that last week too, and the week before and the week before that 😬...if you look for things less specific than a recipe for longevity you’ll find it but if this is your way of being lazy and complaining you’ve given a legitimate search....tsk tsk...that’s naughty....;)
I've been mixing for a few years, but I've never given a second thought about prolonging coil life while making recipes. Now that I'm switching from rda's to a lost vape Orion (which has stupid expensive pods), I'm looking for flavors that have proven to chug through these tiny coils without clogging.
