FA Vienna Cream tasting like nail polish remover?
submitted almost 7 years ago by CherryDarlingxx

Did I get a bad concentrate or does anyone else experience this? It tastes and smells like acetone. It's so strong I don't see how it could be just me not liking the flavor?

Did you let it steep?

I've had a bottle of Pebbles set aside for 2 months that still tastes bad because of the same taste/smell I get off of FA vienna cream

I think the problem is the recipe, not just the Vienna Cream. Just looked at my notes for Pebbles and I got a "bathroom cleaner" vibe from that one after a 20 day steep.

yeah I get a similar vibe. Any cereal recipes you recommend? I've tried a few others and still haven't had anything comparable to "premium" fruity cereal vapes

From what I remember that recipe had a sweet spot in the steep where it tasted very good but if you let it steep longer it turned nasty.

You are sensitive to one of the chemicals they use in their VC. I am the same way. It does not get better with steeping.

Swap it out (1:1) for Liquid Barn Vienna Cream, and you will be good to go.

TFA Pear is one of those concentrates for me. Gets high praise yet it makes me want to vomit. Weird.

Want to get a 'nice' rubber tire taste? Try dif mfg'ers take on pineapple! Dif people will really get dif tastes from that simple seaming fruit. Think I have found ONE type that does not taste like burning car tires to me. :P

That makes sense it’s like razor blades for me but it’s not one you hear about and it was when I first started so wasn’t sure exactly then, but who thinks a cream is gonna be so harsh ffs, pffttt, lol ? I sure don’t remember in the cream flavors of the week any warnings about Vienna, but maybe someone will next time or maybe I missed it 😩😂.....;). Now I’m not sure again 🤦🏼‍♀️

Yeah everyone is different. To me FA Veinna Cream tastes like nail polish remover. Even 0.1 percent ruins a recipe for me. Open cap steeping, heat steeping, stick in a cupboard for a month... tried it all. Thankfully LB's is just as potent and actually tastes good to ME. YMMV

Apparently that goes away after a steep.

The vanilla, unfortunately, does not.

I get that from it until it steeps for at least a few days, but it never steeps out for some people. Sounds like you might be one of those people.
