For those who're curious... GIGI IS GRACK IMPROVED.
Yeah, I realize I'm calling my shot there, but...
First off, I wanted to avoid the Strawberry. Since it's main purpose was to add 'red' to the flavor, I went with a better choice for 'red' - since IRL cherry is so much superior to strawberry, I figured TFA Cherry Extract was the perfect replacement.
Then, because I don't like meringue, I decided to use a blend of TFA Honeysuckle and FA Marzipan for sweetness (and the latter also boosts the cherry redness).
I'm not a fan of dragonfruit, so since it's main role is as emulsifier, CAP Hibiscus steps in, and does the job nicely.
Cactus and Purple are kinda central to the juice (along with cooling) so I left them and tweaked the percentages some.
Lastly, I kinda screwed up on a batch, and used FLV Boysenberry in place of Melina Raspberry, and it tastes wicked awesome.
All told, a great juice to vape while watching the Red Sox win the Series again.
#GIGI % | Co. | Flavor ------|-----|---------------------------------------------- .5% | FLV | Boysenberry 2.25% | INW | Cactus 1.5% | TFA | Cherry Extract 3% | INW | Grape 1.75% | CAP | Hibiscus .5% | TFA | Honeysuckle (pg) .5% | FA | Marzipan 1% | FA | Polar Blast 1% | CRR | WS-23
I like the look of this. My next order is definitely going to include the bits I'm missing.
Finally made my order for black Friday and mixed this tonight. The familiar Grack taste of grapey cactus with a magical background.
Can't believe there's no reviews up yet. I'll give it a week or so and get one up on ATF. Ten minutes off the shake though and it's great. Thank you!
/u/philosaphucker - based on the feedback,to from people wanting to know about subs... I totally get your reaction to those now. Interested to see what you think of this version.
Missed the tag, but caught the post anyway. This looks pretty killer on paper. I will definitely be giving this a try. You sold the Cherry Extract really well, so I need to get ahold of that for all sorts of reasons and Polar Blast because it is always good to have another coolant, I guess. I love FLV Boysenberry and I think it will work really nicely here, so I am excited for that. I enjoy this kind of mixing where you take one or two characteristics of another recipe and build something of your own, based on your preferences and available flavors. Questions about subs never seem to be in that spirit, though. This recipe is an example of how a mixer has no way to anticipate what subs will 'work' (whatever the fuck that means) when creating a recipe.
I'm really flattered that you would call your recipe that. Here is an autograph for your steep box; I wrote it on a bottle cap. Sorry about my strawberry, it must have missed you. Don't think I did that shit intentionally just to diss you. What's this I hear about liking to vape purple juice too? I made Grack just clowning dawg, messing around just like I'm fit to.
Idk about the rest and grack isn't really my style, but flv boysenberry is a pretty awesome and I'm unique flavor. If you don't like it the first time you try it let it steep a week.
You gotta give grack a chance! Leave out the koolada if need be.
Replace the koolada with WS-23 or Polar Blast or use both. Polar flew under the radar with the massive WS-23 hype, for good reason, however combo them to get a cool inhale and exhale.
FLV Boysenberry is one of the best flavors out there but most push it too high.
Tbh I don't think there is a flavor that most don't push too high. In general imo nothing should go over 3%. I know that's not general consensus but if I need more flavor than I get from 3% I drop to 1.5-2% and add 1-1.5% of a different brand.
Companies like LB, MB, DV, OSDIY, Cup Cake World (CC), Delosi can and need to go over 3% as they're weak. A few flavors from CAP & FW too but yeah you are pretty much right. My point with FLV's Boysenberry is that known to be weak compared to most FLV flavors which is true, so you can push it high.
Although I haven't seen or tasted any Boysenberry as a primary and always used as an accent which is what I think it's perfect for just like your Bilberry or Black Currant for example. As a primary though I wouldn't go more than 2% and then combo it .25% FA Black Currant. Then go nuts and add whatever you want basically as it can go either the fruit direction, Anise/Absinthe/Black Licorice route, or would be great working with an Ice Cream route and can stand up to a bold flavor like Holy Vanilla which would be awesome with it.
Damn, now I have to take out my notepad and write up some recipes and try a few iterations. I'm thinking Boysenberry, Black Currant, low % of Forrest Fruit which other people push too high, INW Shisha Raspbery for the fruit. Then hit it with FLV Cream, Holy Vanilla, OOO Milky Undertone, top it off with one of the best flavors ever in DV Absinthe and of course WS-23.
Grack has been my ADV for the past 3 months or so. I'm definitely intrigued by this recipe.
So easy to make Grack into an ADV... when bored of the awesome exhale through the mouth... just exhale through the nose, and Boom, new experience.
Yep. And I add 1.5% menthol to it for extra cooling. However I'm curious if this Cherry tastes like cough syrup. I like the medicinal prep pad flavor of Grack (now), but I don't know if I can do cough syrup and alcohol prep pad juice all day. Haha
This actually does look like an improvement. I need to order TPA Cherry Extract to make it, and then I'll be sure to return with my thoughts.
I'm shocked. I thought way more people would've bought cherry extract after /u/ID10-T started hyping it.
It's not just me, look at all these recipes. Where have people been?
Of course I have all but one flavor for this. Ordering next week so will definitely try it
8 of nine is actually pretty good. (Out of curiosity, which are you missing?)
This is highly relevant to my interests and yay Melina sucks. Tastes like some generic shitty stevia razzcola.
What Raspberries do you like better? You probably get a note of a raspberry sucker that's been in someone else's mouth with that really juicy, wet and warm kind of texture with INW Malina.
Go Sox!
Funny how most your recipes include just one flavor (cherry extract this time) that I don't have... guess I'll add it to the cart. along with FLV Milk Chocolate for 'Silk Road' and like a couple dozen others... prolly won't have the patience to wait until black friday >.<
Is TPA Cherry Extract any good?
It's one of the top three flavors with "cherry" in the name other than cherry tobaccos. At least of the ones I've tested so far. It ain't a main note, but it would do for making a cherry limeade. You won't get cherry pie or cherry blossoms (the chocolate treat that apparently Merkins can't buy) but it works in beverage style vapes. And candy. So... Good enough. And a passable cherry is better than any strawberry ever.
Yeah cherry is my favorite so I think if I could make a gummy I’d be happy forever lol
INW Cherries (not cherry), INW cherries in liquor, TFA cherry extract, FA marzipan, TFA cherry blossom., Cap jelly candy, rfsc candy base. Percentages are an exercise left to the reader. Maybe a touch of whipped marshmallow if you want to cheat for the mouthfeel.
I have INW cherries and CAP grape...thoughts?
INW cherries would probably work. There's no real off taste there either. CAP grape... How purple is it? INW grape is straight purple flavor. So any flavor that does that well could work.
