I've had the same 120ml bottle for over a year. It has turned a touch darker but still tastes fine. So I'm wondering how many people go by taste and how many go by shelf life.
With the FDA wanting to eradicate vaping I worry about nicotine being hard to get in the near future. In November if Gottleib decides he wants to ban vaping I will be buying a liter of nicotine. This should last me at least 5yrs. My thinking is by then TFN (tobacco free nicotine) will be more affordable. I'm also thinking of checking out salt nicotine, since salt nic oxidizes at a slower rate.
I'm not too worried about getting flavorings,PG and VG since they have multiple uses so I can order from a non vaping shop. As for devices it will suck not to have anything new but there is really only one other mod I want.
The real downside is so many smokers will lose the chance to try vaping. It's a disservice to public health. Sure I'll be fine for awhile but eventually my stock pile will run out. Eventually everyone's stock pile will run out and anyone not worried will be kicking themselves for not trying to fight this hypocrisy more.
You'll always have access to mods. China, my friend.
And you keep nicotine until it can't be used anymore. Stick it in your freezer and it will last indefinitely
I thought that once oxygen was introduced it starts to "go bad". I keep a 30ml bottle for mixing in my drawer while the rest is in a cool dark place.
Technically, this is true -- the nicotine starts to oxidize. However, this is a slow process, even at room temperature. If you huck it in the freezer, the oxidation process slows significantly more -- I'd expect a few years at least, probably more, so long as the cap's tightened down and everything.

Bottom line is, though, if it looks fine and tastes fine, it is fine, though you may be getting a little less nic per mL than you expect.

I buy 6mg. It's a bit pricier than 100, but I don't have to worry about mixing. I just add some flavor and I'm good to go. I've had a bottle for close to a year sit on my desk and I can't tell the difference between a new bottle.
That said some of my year old flavorings start tasting like butt. The buy every popular flavoring and find mixes for them idea was a bad one. I've got a drawer full of old ass flavors that I'm probably going to dump. Some seem fine. Some even smell off.
Once you open the jar-o-nic it begins to oxidize. Which is why most mixers keep their supply bottle in the freezer and a smaller bottle near their mixing station. The colder it is the slower it will oxidize. So in short if you are keeping it in a cabinet it's still oxidizing at a somewhat normal rate, and the more you use the more air you add to the bottle causing it to oxidize faster.
My nic is stored in my deep freezer in dark amber glass bottles. The oxygen has been removed and replaced with argon. Currently using a bottle from 2011 and it's perfect. Hasn't degraded at all. I have enough stored to last me and my wife the rest of our natural lives. Fuck you FDA.
How do you replace it with argon?
Nude nicotine sells it that way. I know they don't have the best rep here, but they've always done right by me, and I've never gotten a bad batch from them. I would buy from another reputable vendor if they sold it that way. I know it's possible to do at home, but I'd rather not mess with it.
Us uk guys had this concern a year or so ago when the TPD laws come into play. I wouldn't worry too much my friend, we're still going strong over here, there's always loopholes
Thats why I mentioned TFN. Any nicotine derived from a plant other than tobacco gets around the FDA. Its just very expensive.
