Coil gunkers?!?
submitted almost 7 years ago by padishar123

Ok. After 2 yrs diy I’ve learned not to use sweetener (sucralose). Recently I made a recipe with tpa sour. Was excellent flavor but ended up gunking my coils. Note: I only use dripper rbas. Currently a dead rabbit and a troll v2.

I decided it had to be the sour.

Are there any other flavors out there KNOWN to gunk coils? All I want is a fresh wick to last 30 ml. Is that too much to ask?

I’ve made over 200 unique recipes but with very few that I would make again. Most come from Reddit threads but in general it’s really hard to find recipes worth remaking

Ok rant is over. Thanks for reading. Oh and I’m on my 3rd bourbon. Lol

All the FW flavors that have sugar in them.

So many of them have sugar syrup/fructose/molasses/juice concentrates in them I just avoid FW. Not suitable for vaping IMO.

Bullcity has the ones to avoid marked. No reason to miss out on their blueberry, hazelnut, butterscotch ripple etc..

Now that's handy. Very good of them to do that.

Tobaccos on general. So delicious, but so gunky

99% what I vape, but rewicking every three days gets irritating. I recently rediscovered a few fruits I enjoy, so I've been running those when I don't feel like rewicking the tobacco setup.

I don't buy that Sucralose in and of itself gunks coils, this is 2 weeks of a recipe that takes 2.5% Sucralose. There's no doubt that it contributes but it's not solely responsible.

Creams tend to gunk faster than fruits in my experience.

IME, everything you like will gunk coils.

I just use an RTA and bought a cheap coil brush off fasttech.

Stick to European flavourings like FA, INA and MB and you'll rarely see any gunk. That's what I did last year and I'll never go back to American flavourings no matter how tasty some of them are.

If you want a sweetener that wont gunk coils the way many others will go with FLV Sweetness. It doesn’t have many of the other buffers and fillers that other sweeteners have. It won’t be on the level of sweetness as say CAP or TFA but it is a balanced sweetener that won’t destroy your coils

I've been having decent luck with the juices I've been making; most of my coils last 3-6 weeks

My coils are about ready to snap, so I won't be able to brag much longer. I've been using mostly TFA & Capella flavorings, and my juices taste okay. I'll definitely say most brand name juice or gunky juices taste better than anything I put out.

I've been using the same coils for almost a year. If they make it to halloween without breaking, i'll have reached my goal. I only have to burn them off probably every month or two.

Only recently have I started using other brands. Current All day vape is 7% FW Natural Lemonade, 7% Capella Blueberry, 3.5% Realflavors Blueberry Lemonade Slushie, @ 5mg nic

Guess i'll also add that i'm using Stovetop coils. That might also have something to do with their longevity.

Peanut butter is also a coil killer, as is red velvet cake

Well i'm kind of a masohist. I tryied few versions of sweeteners. And sucrulose is not exacly the problem. many flavors gunk up coils anyway. I mad like few version of e-liquid with and w/o sucrulose (powder mix with pg).

So i mad simple recipe cookie from fa and strawberry from my local shop. On had no sweetener other had 3 % of 10% sucrulose. after 120 ml of sweetened liquid and 120 ml without it, you can say it has no much difference on coils.

IMO some flavors gunk up coils faster then other, and not every kind of sweetener is straight up sucrulose.

Sour additives destroy my coils worse than any Sweetner ever has.
