Weekly 'What are you vaping?' Thread - Week of October 08, 2018
submitted almost 7 years ago by c5b4c91772c729fc7d0a

This thread is for you to share what you are vaping lately, be it your own or another mixers recipe. Maybe you happened to stumble upon your new ADV in the October Recipe Thread? Or did someone recommend your first mix to you in the Suggest a recipe for my flavors Thread?

Share what you liked or didn't like too much, but most importantly, please make sure to properly link to the recipe and to the mixer if they're on reddit.

If you need some inspiration, some websites keep track of your mixes and batches: e-Liquid Recipes and All The Flavors.

Also make sure to checkout last week's thread for inspiration or to follow up on a mix that turned out even better after a week of steeping!

Happy Vaping!

I tried about a dozen different kiwi flavors. I went into it with a question, "Is there compelling reason why anyone needs another kiwi flavor besides FA Kiwi and FW Kiwi?" My best answer to that is "no, not really." CAP and FLV were especially disappointing. I used the words "armpit flowers" to describe VT Kiwi and CAP and FLV were even more disappointing than that.

I also faced my admittedly somewhat crazy paranoid fear and finally tried the "Vixen" flavor from Heartland Vapes. You can imagine how silly I felt when I realized that the substance that I was so certain was somehow going to play a major role in the impending zombie apocalypse is just TFA Watermelon and TFA Cinnamon Red Hot mixed together at about 90% Watermelon 10% Red Hot. I feel like Grover at the end of "There's a Monster At The End of This Book."

I finished off the last of the final version of the wonderful Back Nine recipe that was created by /u/AlfredPudding with very little help from me. I can't tell if he's just being modest about his contribution or maybe he just doesn't feel like writing notes for it. But since he insists that I be the one to post it, I'll do that within in the next few days.

Speaking of Mr. Pudding, be on the lookout for BLITZ. This dude has created a recipe for "A hop-infused rhubarb and dragonfruit energy drink." That's nuts! I had the pleasure of trying a preliminary version via Mixers' Club and it was awesome! I gave him a suggestion for how to possibly make it even better and I'm excited to see how that pans out.

Hopefully by the end of the day I'll have done some rebuilding and rewicking and will finally get to try these two beautiful-looking and beautiful-smelling recipes: Vanilla Cronut and BUDDERSTOTCH.

Alright that does it, you can expect 5 bottles in my envelope this month. I’m working vigorously to turn the volume up on BLITZ, and I’ll try to have it finished by next week. The butterscotch/tobacco recipe looks amazing. I’ll expect a full review on Noted.

Think you'll be sharing the blitz recipe? These flavors are intriguing and I'm almost tired to death of the 80 or so recipes I have saved.

Yep, just making some final adjustments. I’ll send you a message as soon as it’s finished.

Over the past week, I've been vaping a lot of Viserion by u/ID10-T. It's by far one of the best recipes I have tried. The decision to go heavy on the flavors was such a good one, and it's absolutely worth the steep. I also finally tried out Fiestas and Fiascos by u/ConcreteRiver. I'm still trying to wrap my head around what's going on in there. I mixed up some Intrinsic by Demented76, and you should too. I had to use the sub option for Vanilla Ruyan Custard, but it's amazing either way. Finally, a shameless self-promoting plug of 007 Cola. So far the feedback has been amazing, and I would love for you to try it out.

My cinnamon flavor is coming just so I can try that recipe :)

by AlfredPuddingalmost 7 years agoDiketones, Schmiketones

Awesome stuff! After you finish trying my creation, you have to follow it up with Toasted. I wouldn’t be in a Rich Cinnamon state of bliss without that recipe.

by liteupmyyardalmost 7 years ago

Tbh I usually don't like cinnamon in anything, hence not having a bottle on hand, but I had to order after seeing how promising the recipe looked. I MAY try something else but if the cinnamon is strong it's probably a no-go.

Awwww.... thank you for your kind words. I think it's one of the best recipes I've created.

Will Mixers' Club be getting the OO7 Cola?

Absolutely! Unlike some people (CBV), I decided to conquer my cola nemesis.

I sadly don‘t have Blueberry (Extra), but all the rest. Do you think the recipe works without the BBX? Maybe using more Blueberry?

no

by blacksun2012almost 7 years ago

Do you think it'd work without the dragon fruit. Or would I balls up the whole thing?

2 points

by justpurple_almost 7 years ago

Oh, the creator himself! In that case, I think I‘m just gonna order some BBX, I really want to try it - it sounds delicious.

Thank you for your answer!

Viserion looks interesting. Any suggestions for a good sub for FE Lemon? I have CAP Juicy Lemon, INW Lemon, JF Lemon Juicy, FW Lemon Meringue Pie, INW Lemon Mix, FA Lemon Sicily, LA Lemonade, and INW Shisha Lemon...kinda feeling like I don't need more lemons!

Been loving Leche de coco.

I also have been enjoying dinner lady remix. I'll have to try the remixed V2 soon.

Some single flavor tests. I like dripping a 4% FLV mango onto an rda with best damn pink lemonade in there. Mmmm, mango-y lemonade.

Been MTL'ing this at 15mg Nic salts.

1% CAP juicy lemon

6% LB pink lemonade

2% TPA raspberry sweet

1% TPA strawberry ripe

1% FLV sweetness

.3% koolada

Edit: Wrong credit for DL recipe.

That’s dazcole’s dinner lady, not mine. I don’t have any recipes that popular.

That MTL raz Lemonade looks tasty!

Pineapple Whip

  • TFA Pineapple 3%
  • TFA Apricot 1% (supports 🍍 )
  • FA Fresh Cream 2.5%
  • FA Pear 2.5%
  • optional - shot of Bavarian Cream

I only have rfsc pear and tfa pear candy ...are they viable subs for any pear anyone know?

1 points

by Phatpharm269almost 7 years ago

Honestly not sure. Don't own either.

FA Pear is quite subtle and changes the 'mouthfeel' as much as supporting the flavor.

Looks like I'll have order something from the DIY Walmart again.

Just like real Walmart, I feel like I leave behind a small piece of my soul whenever I buy there. But, my soul is not worth all that much, certainly not worth as much as a badass banana flavor.

Souls are meant to be bargained with. That's why now, at "DIY Walmart" we are proud to announce the addition of Souls as a form of payment. "DIY Walmart" : We own our own nicotine and flavors, and now we own YOU

I keep revising this recipe but I really like this latest iteration, even if 6% NY cheesecake is pretty high. Still figuring out the lemon...my current iteration I'm vaping has INW Lemon in it, but I think I'm getting this weird nasty plastic taste that I get off of a few other citruses (Lime Tahiti Cold Pressed, notably...Easy as Pie Key Lime Pie tastes like vaping melted tupperware to me).

Sweet Georgia lemonade

Extremely good flavor. Dead on. Ended up gunking my coils after about 15 ml. I’m guessing it was the sour. I already avoid sweeteners.

Right now I am vaping a bunch of butterscotch single flavor tests as well as a mediocre cinnamon donut thing I have been working on for the mixin vixens. I just finished a bottle of [Oatmeal Cream Pie](https://alltheflavors.com/recipes/98340#oatmeal_cream_pie_by_folkart) which was extremely delicious albeit not entirely accurate but I don't fault /u/folkart for it one bit as oats is super hard to do.

u/GDubz96 amalfi from the apricot fotw page, ecigexpress 's Cranberry cake (real good), this delicious Strawberry Rhubarb cake by jackthevapor78 (subbed rhubarb yc <inw> for sour and sweet rhubarb <WF>), coop34's Raspberry custard, Rhodoniteby Enyawreklaw.

Been vaping my Euphora a bit this week. Tried a couple other things for the white chocolate pina colada apple thing I was trying for Mixers Club, but ended up putting that one on the back burner for another year or so. The night before I mailed off my submission I just sort of tried winging it with some INW Yes, We Cheesecake, Black Cherry for Pipe, Marzipan, and some other junk. Tasted pretty ok. I added some JF Strawberry Sweet to sweeten it up a bit, but that might have been a mistake. I’ll let the group decide that.

Also been testing a prototype flavor. Not really sure if I’m supposed to say too much about it or not. But I have been testing out a couple ideas i had to possibly fix it up. Makes me real curious what FA is putting in their Black Fire. Best I can figure from my research, you should get close to a wood smoke taste/aroma with Guaiacol, Syringol, vanillin, and eugenol. Still can’t get anything quite as intense as Black Fire though. Anyone gots any ideas?

I’m blazing through a batch of Custard King currently. http://e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/202670

Ry4 double TPA - 8%

Sweet Cream TPA - 3%

Vanilla Swirl TPA - 4%

Anyone that hasn’t tried, do yourself a favor. Or flavor. ;)

Other than that, I just mixed a Gold Ducat and Vanilla Bourbon batch that I’m letting steep for a bit. If it turns out well, I’ll share the recipe here on the sub for everyone to enjoy.

I got a handful of new RDAs this past week so alot..

Still running with Hula. I find myself reaching for it multiple times a day.

I tossed together a Peach Lemonade which is coming along nicely. I decided to switch some things up and go with LA Lemonade and FE Lemon instead of the holy combo of LA and Lemon Sicily. It's a nice little change up that I think I'm going to run with.

I've got Strawberry Shorty which is coming together very nicely after steeping out. Bakeries are most definitely not my strong suit just yet, but I think this one was a step in the right direction!

Also, have Summer Drink and Berry Yogurt going.

Reading back, this comes off as a very conceited post as they're all mine..sorry about that...I am impatiently awaiting Black Friday sales so I can pick up the remaining necessary ingredients for some of u/AlfredPudding 's delightful looking mixes!

Right now I'm vaping Orange Kewkewmore, an unnamed recipe posted by /u/Kewkewmore 7 months back in the Orange FOTW thread.

I knew this was going to be a banger just looking at the recipe so I mixed a 30ml sample instead of my usual 10ml. Fresh off the mix it had a weird pine taste on the knuckle test so I decided to let it steep 14 days. It's now on day 17 and I'm really enjoying this mix in my C4. The pine note is still there once in a while but I'm pretty sure it's from the FLV Mango. I've been putting off single flavor testing it because I'm pretty sure me and FLV Mango just don't get along. I'll probably try a remix without the FLV Mango and bump up the CAP Sweet Mango instead.

Overall this is a great iced-orange recipe and a perfect palette cleanser in between all my usual custard and cream vapes.

2 points

by Kewkewmorealmost 7 years agojust add sucralose

If it's too piney, flip flop the % of flv mango with cap mango. Then the mango notes are more on the candy side, with a hint of the piney tropical mango to bring it back to reality.

Thanks for the tip, I'm going to mix it as soon as I finish this bottle. I love how the white peach gives some tartness to the blood orange.

I'm a DIY newbie and this is my first recipe.

3% Grape Soda (FW)

0.30% Cactus Lime (INAWERA).

I tastes a lot like when my big brother finished the Tang and barely rinsed out the pitcher, then made grape kool-aid in it. It's got a good base of noogies, with top notes of teasing and name-calling. The exhale has just a hint of childhood trauma.

Determined to make a delicious chocolate vape, I mixed a thin mint recipe I found on this sub (https://www.reddit.com/r/DIY_eJuice/comments/5ngaug/thin_mints_you_say/) as well as a VC Campfire clone. I used to vape the latter, so was a bit surprised when the thin mint blew me away against the Campfire. Ive tried thin mint/chocolate mint flavors in the past and been very disappointed, but this one is GREAT.

I tried a simple mix that came to mind during my earliest single flavor tests... INW Cactus at 8% (this recipe is for a very low wattage pod mod) and FA Pear at 2%. It's not for everyone, but I'm in love. Reminds me of one of those sugary aloe vera beverages... mmm.
