Can someone with more knowledge check if this applies to vaping too? https://www.cnbc.com/2018/10/03/artificial-sweeteners-are-toxic-to-digestive-gut-bacteria-study.html
I mean, a LOT of things are toxic to our microbiome. But they great things is, microbes reproduce very quickly and repopulate. This isn't diy juice related advice, but if you want to understand how your microbiome works I highly highly recommend the book "I Contain Multitudes" by Ed Yong. Approachable but wildly informative.
Not much in the way of gut bacteria in the lungs, champ. Besides, artificial sweeteners seem to be safer in vaping than inhaling burnt sugar (which is why you need to be careful with Flavor West, a tonne of their flavours have sugar syrup, fructose, molasses, and natural fruit juice concentrate in them. Even cocoa butter in the chocolate flavours, ugh).
Well if you actually read the abstract from the study they linked.. Neotame a newer artificial sweetener, could cause some issues. They didn't actually do any tests involving any of the overly tested sweetners that have already been deemed safe. Either way, you are not ingesting your ejuice, at least not in any significant amount(I would hope) so don't sweat it you'll be fine bro. Eat some yogurt if you're really concerned.
It seems like EVERYTHING is toxic, but you definitely raise a good point, and I am wondering also about the artificial flavors we use, or as far as that goes the natural ones!

Did you know when you see a number behind a color it means that color has been tested at the NCTR by the FDA and found to be toxic or carcinogenic? Read the label next time your buying your kids their cereal :(
Your second paragraph is incorrect and you really shouldn't be spreading false information.
It is hearsay, why do they put the number behind some flavors then?
OFF TOPIC:
Here is some interesting reading for you, begin on Page 222 Section 8.4 Food additives. This is not a complete text but you might be surprised what toxins you are ingesting. Section 8.5 is the beginning of the section on artificial colors, and again although not complete you might start reading food labels. Just my opinion, but if there are 2 boxes of cereal that taste exactly the same, why poison your kids with the pretty colored ones?
Yummy FDA colors and additives

Natural flavors are much more likely to be toxic, based on the simple fact that there are orders of magnitude more chemical compounds in a naturally sourced flavor than something engineered in a lab. Simple probability... More compounds means more chances one could be bad.
