So I've been hesitating for awhile to begin mixing but it seems like the time is now. Currently I freebase at 6 mg and it's a little lacking at the moment so the thought is to pick up some 48 mg salt base and mix it down to 8-10 mg juice.
Question is - I'm gonna continue using my RDA setup so does a higher nic content with salts increase the nic flavor comparable to going to 9 or 12 in freebase?
Bonus question- ordering from nic river, is there any drastic difference quality/taste/intensity wise between 'smooth salts' and 'hit salts' , or do they just tend to lean slightly towards their moniker? Considering I'm going to be subohming around 60/70w I was leaning towards the smooth salts, and possibly compensating with some pg if it seems to lack or be too velvety.
Idk what that other guy is saying salts are best at 10-40w... it's just a different molecular structure of the nicotine molecule.. I vape 6mg salts at 117w in my RDA all day long and love them.
My only reason for going with salts in my 100W+ sub-ohm is they’re a noticeable bit smoother than freebase (I’m using Nic River Smooth Salts)
I hack when I vape 6mg freebase. 6mg salts are still heavier than 3mg but it’s not uncomfortable.
OP, fwiw, I went with 48mg concentration on my first order and will absolutely be going with 100mg on my next and not looking back. It’s just easier.
Yeah see that's what I was thinking as it was just another form of nic. Idk maybe I'll just make a half and half order of salts and freebase and see what works. Thanks for the input!
You realize that with 48, to get to 10 in a finished juice, even if you make flavorless with just VG and nic, you'll end up with >20% PG? So unless you buy your nic salts in a 50/50 base, you'll be getting really high PG content if you use flavors.
Nic river offeres them in vg base so I was playing around with steam engine and it was showing me I could get up around 85 vg. But as /u/upboatugboat pointed out my desired wattage range is too high for salts so I'm rethinking this salt thing going to stick to freebase for now.
Salts are best at 10W-40W so you might wanna get used to vaping within those ranges if your going to get into salts. There's no reason you can't order freebase nicotine as well and still vape 80W from time to time. Just my 2 cents as I can't say much about the vendors in question.
What VG/Pg ratio is optimal for pod system?
From what I've seen 70/30 is do-able for some pods but they seem to shine at 60/40 and 50/50. That being said I have very limited experience with them as I just drip myself (messed around with the wife's mi-pod) so I'm sure someone has a more definitive answer.
