Weekly 'Suggest a Recipe for my Flavors' Thread - Week of September 28, 2018
submitted almost 7 years ago by AutoModeratorBootylicious

Got a bunch of flavors but not sure how to make them work together? Post your list here, and our team of semi-professional mixologists will make suggestions for you! Don't forget to include manufacturers' names for all of your concentrates, and make your list easier to read by using bullet points or at least listing each of your flavors on a new line by hitting return twice after each flavor.

There is also a few resources in the sidebar where you can register a free account, input your flavors, sort by rating, and either mix something up or be inspired to make something with your ingredients.

Happy Mixing!

Maybe someone can give you some recipes to try but I would recommend finding a recipe you like the look of and buying the flavours. You've got one or two there that are apparently terrible.

Thanks! I dig the the banana cream and butterscotch combo idea. I'll reply back with a review.

That's a starting point. You may want to go heavier on the banana, the PB and Butterscotch may bully it too much for ya...

Neapolitan Ice Cream, sorta. The first juice I mixed that I loved so much I made a much larger batch immediately. Clone of the popular commercial My Man juice. If buying flavors is an option, pick up some cream fresh and use 0.5% of that and only 1% sweet cream. I’m not normally a dessert flavors guy but trust me this is delicious. 4% (CAP) Sweet Strawberry 3% (TPA) Strawberry 4% (TPA) Vanilla Bean Ice Cream 1% (TPA) Marshmallow 1.5% (TPA) Sweet Cream 2% (TPA) Ethyl Maltol

Enjoy! You can optionally add 3% double chocolate clear which will add some chocolate notes. I’ve tried it both ways and prefer it without but YMMV. Looking forward to your reaction.

I bought a bunch of loranns when I first started d.I.y. cant find any recipes including then, and cant figure out how to make anything good with them. This much I know for a certainty. Loranns orange is exactly orange peeling. Dreamsickle is out of the question with it

I may not use them much/at all, especially since they’ve been in my craft room for a while. Do flavors go bad?

Sorry for the huge list... just recently got in to DIY, I've wasted so much on juice in the past and boy is this a better way to go. I am a big fan of tobacco flavors; Abuela (sans-mango), Dromedary (TFA Western/Hazelnut/Cotton candy), but open to any kind of flavors. Really enjoyed Prickly Victory, and am trying to create a fresh blueberry flavor, if there is anything you folks know good for that I'm missing!

by garamasalaalmost 7 years ago

I don't have much experience with blueberry profiles but you could try /u/ID10-T's Viserion. I tried it recently but subbed the lemon for Lemon Sicily and I found it a bit strange, I think because of that, but that's died down now and it's delicious. Not sure if fresh is the right word for it but it's clean tasting.

This sounds quite tasty... will have to pick up the ingredients I'm missing.

You have the blueberries for the blueberry trinity, but it really reaches its peak if you add .1% INW Lemon Mix.

You have an interesting assortment of tobaccos, but are missing the workhorse - FLV Red Burley. Also you should get the INW 'for Pipe' flavors.

by UndiscriminatingRonalmost 7 years ago

Appreciate the suggestion. Sounds like a good way to make the other flavors pop.

I tried one gentleman's mix that was mostly FLV Red Burley and found it unvapeable. But maybe I ought to give it a sample anyways, you are not the first person I've seen recommend it.

Help me figure out exactly what you mean by "fresh" blueberry so I can help you better

2 points

by UndiscriminatingRonalmost 7 years ago

Really just want to make a non-candy blueberry flavor, I guess a 'realistic fruit' would be a better way to phrase it. I've yet to try a mix that didn't remind me of those fake 'blueberry' pieces in a lot of American food that is actually corn syrup and dye. That being said, I have not yet mixed the 'blueberry trinity,' recommended below, as I just today received the order containing Blueberry extra.

Try that first, adjust as needed, let someone know if you still want some help with that
