A quick double check
submitted almost 7 years ago by dillycrawdaddy

I searched the sub for this but didn’t find anything specific to my query. Apologies because I’m pretty sure it’s gotta be a common question.

I made a recipe at 3mg nic. I want to reduce it to 1.5.

So I will make the same exact recipe, same quantity with 0 nic and combine. It’s only been steeping for one day so I don’t think that should be a flavor problem (?)

This will take it to 1.5mg nic? Yes?

TIA

But only if he makes sure to sub in the exact same liquid bass as his nic without the nic.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm not sure I understand. OP asked if adding the same volume of 0mg/ml juice to the original 3mg/ml juice will yield 1.5 mg/ml. The math says yes regardless of base liquid.

Since the strength of the finished juice is measured in mg/ml, we can think of it mathematically by expressing the overall strength of the original juice as a proportion of nicotine to an arbitrary volume

Nmg/Vml = 3mg/ml

Now double the volume (ml) without adding more nicotine (mg)

Nmg/2Vml = 3mg/ml
Nmg/Vml = (3/2)mg/ml
Nmg/Vml = 1.5mg/ml

The math holds up not only for different base liquids, but also if OP adds an equal volume of water, soda, milk, motor oil, etc.

Did I misunderstand your comment?

I think what he means is you're removing your nicotine which is suspended in PG most likely so you need to add additional non-nicotine PG to maintain the same VG/PG ratio that you want and make the same overall volume of liquid.
