Has anyone added flavors to "In the buff-unflavored ejuice?"
submitted about 7 years ago by congrue

Totally new to DIY ejuice. I was wondering if it can be as simple as buying unflavored 70VG/30PG and add flavors by Capella? Would the ratios be affected as a result? Let's say I add 5% strawberry and 5% spearmint, the spec sheet for both are PG base, but the spearmint also has water, is this compatible for vape? All supplies would be purchased from vapecraft inc. Thank you for your help.

Flavorings count toward your PG percentage.

So it is doable? Should I add back the same volume of VG as the flavors added to keep the 70/30 ratio?

If you use any e-juice calculator it will do it for you. It just lowers the amount of PG you add at the end.

Use a DIY calculator - I like Steam Engine
Enter 70/30 as your nic base, the percentages for your flavors, and your desired target. The recipe will show you what to add.
Adding flavors will do two things - increase the % of PG and lower the nic concentration.

If you added 10% PG flavorings to 120ml of 70/30 3mg unflavored juice you'd have ~63/36 juice at ~2.73mg/ml

For the price of 2x120ml unflavored pre-mixed you could get enough VG/PG/Nic to mix ~2,000ml.

What site would you recommend, in PM please, to find this price point? Thanks in advance.

If you're going to spend over $50 I'd say Nicotine River as free shipping starts there and they have pretty good prices. If you're looking to bare-bones it you'll have to compare prices + shipping from a few different sites to see who ends up being the least expensive.

Thank you. What's your opinion of their flavors?

You can do this, but it's not any harder to buy pure PG & VG and freebase nic— it's a lot cheaper, and requires a lot less math.

Yes, you can just add flavor to the premixed unflavored.
Yes, it will lower the VG ratio. It will also lower the nic content.
Yes, you can use that spearmint, it's not like the percentage of water in it is all that high, and it's going to be a small percentage of your finished juice.

Like others have said, tho... it's best to just order the individual ingredients. Far more cost effective, and pretty simple with a good scale and a calculator like at alltheflavors.com

This is a pretty simple way to do first pass recipe development or for quick shake and vape, but then go back and build it from the ground up with the actual percentages of the PG/VG/Flavoring you want.

I am doing it for over two years now.

It works fine for me.

I am still chasing tobacco flavours.

I used to order 40pg 60 vg...or 30 70..but lately I am on 5050.

It works just fine and inam mixing on the run...mostly one shots or single flavours somentimes I would mix two or three.

Same. Using flavors and 70/30 base with nic for a long time now.

I mix my 70/30 base in advance for convenience, and a little bit of extra pg that comes with flavorings isn't a big deal.

i always wondered how some people have fine sense of taste that they can differ such small variations.

I usaully mix 10 bottles and leave it and when i ckme to the last two bottles i do it again. The whole mixing thing does last more than half an hour.

I order 1l 50/50 with 12mg of nic from either hiliq or socialites. And it costnlike 23 or 24$ and it lasts me about three months.
