First off, I just want to thank those who gave their input along the way in my help post.
I've gone through probably 20 failures trying to make this the way I wanted it, but now I'm there. I've even got several friends who've tried it and are now addicted to it, so I'm very satisfied with the results.
Shinto is the traditional religion of Japan, and I wanted to encapsulate the name in some mystical, tart, fruity tea.
Here it is in all it's glory.
- FE Green Tea 0.7%
- FW White Peach 2.5%
- FW Raspberry 2%
- TPA Dragonfruit 1.5%
- FW Hibiscus 0.3%
FE Green Tea was decided on due to the research of Green Tea KitKat. It has a sweet hint of honeydew and smells & tastes remarkably like DMT (yes, Dimethyltryptamine), making it all the more spiritual ;)
FW White Peach is the main fruit note, here. At this percentage, it's just sharp enough to make the recipe sharp and sweet, but not sour.
TPA Dragonfruit and FW Raspberry blend together on the side as some red dragon of juiciness and fluffiness that fulfills the fullness of the White Peach.
FW Hibiscus MUST ONLY BE USED AT 4 DROPS. Even 5 overbitters the recipe, and at 7 drops, the whole thing is Hibiscus. But at this percentage, it's just the right amount of red petals floating through it all and it's really lovely.
Do try a mix of this and let me know what you think :)
About that Hawk Sauce clone, I'm doing 6.5% FW Blackberry and Raspberry and 3.75% FW Jungle Juice, it's close enough but i'm wondering if the Sour made any difference.
Btw, if you have WF Double Mint i suggest you trying that at around 4~6drops in a 30ml in that recipe above with 0.5% TPA Dragonfruit, it's pretty good.
My Hawk Sauce clone stays at:
- FW Blackberry 6%
- FW Raspberry 6%
- FW Jungle Juice 1.5%
- FA Sour Wizard 2%
And funnily enough, one of my friends requested a peppermint addition just a few days ago. I have some INW Natural Mint on the way just to try it out.
FA Sour Wizard really makes a difference? Is it closer to the original?
Well, it's hard to put my finger on it, but ya.
Before Sour Wizard came in the mail I tried making it without it, and the mix felt too intense and a bit dry. After putting in the SW, it softened it and gave it just the right bit of juiciness that it should have.
Before I order these flavours I'm curious to know what DMT is like. And when you say four drops what volume is that in?
It's complicated and difficult to describe. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N,N-Dimethyltryptamine
4 drops from a 1.0ml syringe.
N,N-Dimethyltryptamine
N,N-Dimethyltryptamine (DMT or N,N-DMT) is a tryptamine molecule which occurs in many plants and animals. It can be consumed as a powerful psychedelic drug and has historically been prepared by various cultures for ritual purposes as an entheogen. Rick Strassman labeled it "the spirit molecule". In most countries, DMT is illegal.

I often make 1-2 litre batches, so I'm really just asking whether the percentage here is spot on before I go crazy.
I presume you've heard a lot of Joe Rogan talking about DMT? Do his descriptions do it justice?
Is there a onestop shop online vendor that has all these flavors?
This looks great, and I'm glad to have another recipe that uses FE Green Tea (I got it for the Kit Kat, like everybody else). I don't think I have those FW fruits, but I have many other peaches and raspberries and can find subs. Thanks for posting!
