Weekly 'Suggest a Recipe for my Flavors' Thread - Week of September 14, 2018
submitted about 7 years ago by AutoModeratorBootylicious

Got a bunch of flavors but not sure how to make them work together? Post your list here, and our team of semi-professional mixologists will make suggestions for you! Don't forget to include manufacturers' names for all of your concentrates, and make your list easier to read by using bullet points or at least listing each of your flavors on a new line by hitting return twice after each flavor.

There is also a few resources in the sidebar where you can register a free account, input your flavors, sort by rating, and either mix something up or be inspired to make something with your ingredients.

Happy Mixing!

For a lemon custard, I’d start with the following:

  • (CAP) LMPv1 @ 5%
  • (FA) Meringue @ 0.5%
  • (CAP) Juicy Lemon @ 1%

That will give you a nice tart and eggy curd. Normally I’d pair in (CAP) Sugar Cookie @ around 2%, but I don’t see that on your list. You could try adding butter and baked sugar notes with any combination of the following:

  • (TPA) Pie crust
  • (INW) Biscuit
  • (CAP) Butter Cream
  • (CAP) Sweet Cream

Personally, I’d work in a small amount of vanilla, but I’m not familiar with any in your list.

Ahh, thanks! No, Cap Sugar Cookie is on my list of flavors I need to get, along with FA Zeppola

I've tried INW Biscuit a few times and no matter how little I use, or how long I let it steep, it always makes my juice taste like feet. Any tips?

Use it between 0.25-1.0%. Its not my favorite bakery concentrate, and I feel it doesn’t play nice with a lot of creams. Although, when it works, it works. Try searching alltheflavors.com for inw biscuit- you can select the concentrate and it will spit out all the recipes that use it, you can then order the list by highest rating and get a good idea how it’s used in popular recipes.

I am struggling to replicate the TASTE of Mr. Meringue (or all other Chalk's Dust premium eliquids).

Unfortunately, at the moment all my recipes revolve around finding this specific taste.

1% FA Fresh cream
2% FA banana
3% FW salted caramel

You'll want to adjust that, it's more a starting point than a finished recipe.

Thank you for the suggestion 🙂 I’ll try to develop a recipe from that starting point.

Apologies for the WALL of flavors guarantee it won't happen again I'm mostly just looking for some ideas for what i've currently got on hand. I love custards and have mixed MOST of the popular recipes that i've got the ingredients for. I'm mostly looking for ways to use some of the other stuff I've got. I'm fine with more custards but I want to start branching out with the teas and fruits and all since I've barely used any of them. I have yet to come across a flavor profile that I absolutely can't stand so I'm down to try pretty much anything. I'm fine with full recipes, ideas for a base to start with and modify, pretty much anything. Lay it on me.

Oh... where to start... first off though, is that LA Lemonade? Or did I somehow miss FA having a lemonade? (I know I've never seen it in stock anywhere.) Anyhow...

3% TFA sweet tea
2% FA Blood Orange
1% FA Polar Blast

Or...

1% MB Glamor chocolate
2% FLV Red Burley
3% FA Caramel
(Steep for a month.)

Or

4% LA banana cream
3% FW Butterscotch Ripple
2% FA Caramel
(Not sure about the FW there, but based on what I could find on it, that should work.)

Yes it's LA Lemonade. My mistake haha.

I'll give all of these a shot. That chocolate caramel red burley looks tasty. And the FW Butterscotch Ripple is surprisingly good. Works REALLY well in conjunction with a caramel to give a buttery sweetness. I love it in custards.

I've really been looking for a way to use these teas. So I'm about to throw together a 30 of that first one for sure. I just mixed up a 1% FLV Black Tea, 0.5% FLV Red Burley and 0.25% CAP Hibiscus and it's not too bad. I've gotta order another tobacco to add a bit of ashiness to it and I think I'll quite like it, but it's not bad as it stands straight off the shake for having just thrown it together based on flavors that seemed cohesive in my head. Gonna give it a week or so steep and see how it develops short term before I make any major changes to it. Based on the other things I've used the Black Tea in I think a lot of the floral notes from that are going to blossom, but I know Red Burley gets better for me after 1-2 weeks as well, so I'm gonna see what it does.

Definitely appreciate your input now I'm off to mix some stuff up!

Just reporting back in with some results, this blood orange tea is fantastic. I think I’m gonna crank the tea up a touch and drop the polar blast back a little but that is a killer starting point. I’ve got that red burley recipe steeping and am going to mix up the banana one tonight and see how it is. Thanks again for the input.

Hi apologies for the big list just getting started with most of these and keen for some ideas while I work through some SFT's. Up until recently mostly into tobacco flavours but now looking into freshening things up with some lighter flavours. Recent favourites are the INW Melon and Jungle Honeydew and also quite like the Monsoon so keen to work out stuff to combine with these if anyone is familiar. Many thanks in advance!
