Quick Nicotine Math Question
submitted about 7 years ago by Clamchop89

I have about 230ml of 0mg juice that I'd like to turn into 6mg for a buddy. How many grams of 100mg VG nicotine would I need to add?

6*230/94 ml ( *1.235), or ~18.13g (VG based nic isn't the best idea, tho...)

This is correct... The weight of 100mg nic in VG is 1.235g per ml...

If it doesn't fully mix every once in a while you get a hit that has no flavor and rockets you into a head rush like using nic salts on an rda.

I mix max VG with nic suspended in VG pushing most of my recipes to around 88VG and I seldom have this issue but I restrict all my sales to 6mg maximum so maybe that's why I don't experience this. I believe agitation is more important than steeping with VG since its more viscous by nature but once its mixed nicotine shouldn't separate and rise to the top to provide a strong nic hit.

Why is VG-based nicotine a bad idea? My girlfriend is allergic to PG so I've been going as heavy on the VG as possible in my juices. So what problems are there to look out for with the VG-based nic I bought for mixing?

It's harder to work with. Tougher to agitate sufficiently to ensure uinform distribution of nicotine. And really, 3% of your mix being nic isn't going to affect much... you're better off finding recipes with lower total flavor percentages. For example.... a 1-2-3 recipe with PG based nic is max VG of 91%. (If you use some of the PDO based flavors, or VG based flavors, you could have even less PG, too.) One of those CAP VCV1 /sugar cookie monstrosities with VG based nic is more like 84% VG at most.

Should be around 14.7ml (x 1.26g = 18.5g) which will give you a total of 244.7 ml juice at around 6mg strength.

Except VG nic doesn't weigh as much as straight VG.
