Best recipes that contain only one or two flavors?
submitted about 7 years ago by TheNachoNazis

As the title states I'm looking for some simple recipes that only need a couple flavors. Also maybe some recipes that share the same base would be nice

Vaping Prickly Victory now. Can confirm delicious.

Me too. It's very very good for something so simple.

This probably works with every fruit flavor that mostly stands on its own. 5% Forest Fruit and 1.25% Cactus was one of my very first ADV recipes.

The cactus god is benevolent and succulent.

Although I haven't started my DIY journey yet, THIS is where I am starting, and I can't wait.

Also vote for Prickly Victory. I do like do add 0.25% Menthol do it though.

This is, I think, the best 2 flavour recipe out there. But I've now taken to adding 2% FW Butterscotch Ripple to the mix and it does take it to a different level.

Definitely trying this when I get some more Butterscotch Ripple in. I love that flavor. Thanks for the suggestion!

I'm sure it does take it to a different level!

Shared that recipe for the following reasons: To show people who've never mixed before how easy it is to make your own decent-tasting juice, to share something that's dummy proof for beginners because if you mess up and add plus or minus 1% of either or even both ingredients it's still going to taste good, and share something that's ridiculously versatile in that you can add just about anything to it and as long as you don't add too much of whatever that thing is, it's going to be even better than the original recipe. I love hearing about the ways people have leveled up that old thing.

Also the room note on the original is so good it the recipe should be called "wingman" and I don't imagine a little butterscotch ripple does any harm to that.

by marshwizardabout 7 years ago

When I say a different level I'm not really saying it's better than the original, it just changes it to something a bit different, darker and a bit heavier and richer in my mind.

Nice one thanks. I love my desserts and usually mix from concentrates. I'm going to give this a go. I guess you course add a fruit flavour to extend it further too? If so, what kind of concentration would work?

by LecherousLumberjackabout 7 years agoI put on women's clothing and hang around in bars

I've actually not tried it with any fruits added unless you count this Banana Nut Bread, which is amazing also. I can definitely see it going well with any kind of berry, banana, peach, etc. Whatever you like, I imagine. But like I said, I haven't done much experimenting yet, unfortunately. I'm just getting into this whole crazy scene.

I'm a DIY amateur and don't generally stray very far from strawberries and cream type recipes, but made this one up on Tuesday. It is so simple but delicious!

Should I use sugar cookie v1 or v2? If I'm using vanilla custard v1

by LecherousLumberjackabout 7 years agoI put on women's clothing and hang around in bars

I believe the general consensus is to go with v1. That's what I use, at least.

Honestly curious if your trying to be a smartass because you don't like their question, or are you genuinely trying to be helpful.

Helpful. The first 4 threads in that link have over 300 comments on simple recipes. Why so negative?

French Vanilla TFA works really well with that one. Gives it a creamy taste, love it.

The complex route I add 1% pistachio FW, 1-2% caramel TFA and maybe 2-3% ethyl maltol. So good.

by makdaddy63about 7 years ago

Would vanilla custard work OK with ry4?

2 points

by DarkJester89about 7 years agoThe Clone-y Professor

I'm sure it would, 4%.

You could bump Ry4d to 7.5 and have 5% vanilla base (I know its not 2 recipe ingrident but I'm sure you could sub out two vanilla flavors for one vanilla.

2 points

by makdaddy63about 7 years ago

That's cool, quite helpful. Vanilla custard is my go to base. I've only recently got ry4 so I wanted to know more about using it with dessert flavours. I also have vanilla bourbon which may work well with ry4.

Does this help?

*recipes with 2 flavors

*recipes with 3 flavors

1 points

by redblueT4about 7 years ago

How did you generate those lists?

2 points

by OdieDoodahabout 7 years ago

It pays to read the help links on any site you visit! grin
From the ELR Guide . . .

>you can actually find recipes with a specific amount of flavors. To find recipes you can make that has exactly 3 flavors you can add the parameter "fcount" to the URL: http://e-liquid-recipes.com/whatcanimake?fcount=3. It also works with the normal search. Here I search for "coffee", and have added "fcount" to the URL: http://e-liquid-recipes.com/list?q=coffee&fcount=3. If you go the "Search by flavor stash", adding "fcount" also works. If you use sorting or pagination while using "fcount", then you must add "fcount" again.

Even though it's better with than without, you can still make a bangin two-flavor juice by leaving the Kentucky out of Cardinal.

There was a thread last week about complex single flavours. I picked up some Flavour Art Forest Fruit after seeing a bunch of people recommending it. I'm vaping it at 5% right now, and it's delicious. LorAnn Licorice is also nice on its own at 5% if you like black licorice.

Haha, indeed!

It is so good. One of my all time favourites. Excellent with TPA Creme de Menthe too. 4% of Horehound and 2% of Creme de Menthe or so.

Like you said, not too many people are familiar with the flavor, which is a shame.

I use it in my Ricola lozenge recipe!

And happy cake day!

Also, one of the things I love about TFA Horehound is that it's basically shake-and-vape, no steeping required.

2 points

by AstronauttiXabout 7 years ago

Thank you, honestly didn't even notice that it is a cake day for me. I guess I have to go get some cake today then. :'D

Shake-and-vape indeed, but it also holds time i.e. doesnt fade even if one would mix a large quantity of it.

by johndmccabout 7 years ago

How would a Honeydew or Cantaloupe go with Guava?

2 points

by Kewkewmoreabout 7 years agojust add sucralose

Flv pink Guava is a pretty unique guava flavor, so I can't really speak for any of the other guava concentrates, but flv pink Guava goes great with honeydew.

Wild melon is mostly honeydew, so I think pink Guava would go well.

Inw cactus and ws23 will round it out nicely.
