Couldn't find anything from the search bar or Google really but I saw somewhere on a forum it doesn't oxidize as quickly. Also would there be any harm/benefit in using nic salts to make a 3mg liquid? I want to try making juice for pod devices and if it works well it would be nice to only get one type of nicotine for both my pods and RDAs.
I've been using nic salt in 6mg mixes for about a month now. All my juices taste better and are not as harsh as they were before. I'm using nic rivers smooth salts 48mg in pg. I'm keeping it in the fridge but not sure that is necessary. I was having bad luck with my diy mixes before and it turns out changing the nic I was using made all the difference. I made a few at 4mg and I didn't feel like I was missing anything because it gets into your bloodstream faster. May switch to 4 or 3 permanently.
I use the exact same salts and love them. I usually mix at 3mg but I’ve gone down to 1.5 for a few months to try and lower my tolerance and get back head rushes at 3.
I store mine in the freezer. Don’t know if it matters for longevity, but even if it doesn’t, I find it easier to weigh it cold. I use syringes and it just falls out of the tip when it’s room temperature, but obeys me pretty well when cold.
Do you still have a reasonable throat hit?
I switched to salts from nude nic a year ago. I store mine in the freezer. Since I buy in 500 ml bottles at 100 mg/ml I have a smaller bottle I use for mixing. That way I don’t have to defrost a giant bottle every time I mix. I buy mine in pure vg so I usually put the small bottle in warm water before mixing to thin it out a bit. Otherwise it take FOREVER to suck up the pipette.
My juice is no longer harsh AT ALL! I don’t think it degrades the flavor either. I’ve mixed at least 2 liters of nic by now and the guys I also mix for agree switching from freebase to salts was a Huge quality improvement.
this may have convinced me to switch to salts next nic order. I don't find my juices very harsh at 1.5mg, but there's a tingle / throat hit I'm trying to get rid of and smooth it out some
... but I like the throat hit.
that's really good to hear. the friends I mix for don't like the harsh juice I make sometimes either
From what I understand nicotine salts get delivered faster into your bloodstream giving you the same feeling as if you were to smoke a cigarette.
I've used salt nic at higher percentages, I've got a suorin Drop and a couple other pod systems. I've just never seen salt nic used in lower doses. Only brand that does it looks to be Alternativ and I've never tried their juice.
I've tried it and it makes your juice taste nasty even at 3mg. Better to save salts for high concentration pod missions where stealth and light headedness are more important than flavour.
I'm using 100mg/ml pg smooth salts from Nude mixed at 3mg/ml and am very happy with the results. Same low dose but I get the nic faster. Not really any noticeable difference other than the peppery nic taste is much less apparent. My ADV is shake - n - vape and I think the salts produce a better product.
I actually asked NicotineRiver about this and the reply was to treat it the same as freebase nicotine.
Their website said it had anti-oxidative properties that extend shelf life so I was really hoping it'd be a bit more forgiving with storing.
It's much more stable in salt form but even in low concentrations like 3mg, mute and distort the flavour profile. I would only use salts in high concentrations for stealth e.g to get me through a long flight.
That's kind of a bummer. Thanks for the help.
I notice no change in harshness or flavor at 6% when I switch between salt and classic nicotine. I drip constantly. That guy got a stale batch of nic, which will make anything taste like shit.
I tried to save some money and bought cheap nicotine once. It was nearly black and smelled like rotten fish pussy.
