As always, the purpose of this thread is to gather the community to explore a category of flavor and its many uses. And it's also to have FUN!
Post recipes containing this week's Flavor of the Week, as the star or in a supporting role, with or without development notes. Talk about other people's recipes that use it. Compare and contrast different manufacturers' versions of the FOTW. Ask for help using that flavor in general or to achieve something specific, offer advice, brainstorm ideas, consider substitutions, suggest pairings... really anything at all as long as it's on topic.

LA Lemonade is the answer.
Almost.
LA Lemonade+INW Lemon Mix+WS-23 is the answer. Anything without cooling is NeoCitran, not lemonade.
>Anything without cooling is NeoCitran
lol my MIL was addicted to that stuff for a good while.
Yeah... personally in a state where I'd be willing to drink that stuff, I'd prefer just going with sriracha-infused chicken noodle soup. Or chicken noodle soup-infused sriracha, as it may be. But if I didn't have that, NeoCitran and gin would probably do. Although I'd probably add some cranberry juice. And Ice.
man you love your cooling agents, are you synthesizing ws-23 in your bath tub at this point? lol I like it too though, it's made many meh recipes surprisingly vapeable. for a relatively new mixer like myself it's good to have in the arsenal

Should the various Arnold Palmer concentrates (I believe there's more than one) be included in this listing?
Oh great timing. I just received a lot of fruits including LA Lemonade and mixed Best Damn Pink Lemonade (sorry no link I am on mobile). Any suggestion on other recipes? Maybe something more tropical with mango?
I haven't really made a bad lemonade using 6% la and .5% lemon Sicily as a lemonade base. Get some Flavorah Mango to throw in there and I can't see it being bad.
> Any suggestion on other recipes?
FW lemonade is my preferred concentrate. LA could be a good addition to a base, but using it at ~6% as the base tastes more like a lemon candy than a lemonade, it's much too sweet, sort of little the Lemonheads candy
Best Damn Pink Lemonade buy /u/vurve is a classic, even better with a dash of koolada or other cooling agent.
If you were unfortunate enough to pick up Cap Pink Lemonade and find that there's a lot of room for improvement for an actual lemonade, you could always try this Pink Lemonade JuJuBe candy by /u/enyawreklaw. This is a nice, sweet candy profile that I come back to from time to time. You can also toss 4 to 5% of Cap Pink Lemonade into Vurves Best Damn Pink Lemonade to give it a more candy lemon vibe. It's really not too bad this way. I discovered this by adding better lemons to the Cap PL and finding that to improve the flavor into a decent vape, I was pretty much building a better Lemonade around it, to the point that the only improvement to the mix was to omit it entirely.
To echo many other folks in this thread, 5-7% of LA lemonade with any fruit thrown in plus some coolant is hard to beat for a fruit lemonade. LA lemonade can get quite 'lemonheady' at 5%+ and can be remedied quite well with 0.5-0.75% FA Lemon Sicily.
FW lemonade is okay but seems very lacking as a whole to me. It seems to be a polarizing flavor in the communityas well so I'll only add subjective notes to this one. I find fw lemonade to be a lackluster variant of a flat lemon flavor that's trying to be lemonade but misses the key zing of a sharp lemonade. FA Lemon Sicily in low amounts again can salvage this note but IMO is still not as good as LA Lemonade.
Purple Berry Lemonade
WS-23 .7% T
fa blueberry extra 3%.
Fw blueberry 2%.
Fa bilberry .5%.
Fw Grape soda 3%
Inw Lemon concentrate 3
Inw lemon mix 1
Inw raspberry .8%
Tfa Raspberry (sweet) 1.5
Used the Holy Trinity from EdibleMalfunction and ID10-T's Lemonade mix to create this mix. Carries over as a well rounded grape lemonade on ice. Been an ADV for me for a few weeks now. Everyone hates on FW Grape Soda but i struggled to find the purple candy grape flavor i was looking for until Grape Soda. Hope you enjoy!
Lemonade on ice is redundant. Lemonade is always on ice. It's kinda in the definition.
So Canada Lemonade is the same thing as USA Lemonade?
I don't know anything about other English-speaking countries (or non-English-speaking ones, for that matter) but I know that in Australia (and presumably NZ), what they call "lemonade" is like Sprite or 7-Up. If you want lemonade down under you have ask for lemon squash or lemon smash or something silly like that. Could be worse, though, getting a Sprite when you wanted lemonade; if you ask for a napkin they bring you a diaper.
Aussie here. Yes that's right - if it's clear (like 7-Up?) it's just called lemonade - and what you call lemonade, we call lemon squash. 'Nappy' equals your diaper, but a napkin is just what you wipe your face with after eating (they're also called serviettes).
But what the hell is it with you guys saying something is 'addicting'? Is that even a word? Surely the word ya'll are looking for is 'addictive'? Is 'addicting' taught at school there?
FW lemonade is my go to, brilliant flavour profile!
I’m not a big fan of FW Lemonade- it reminds me of the lemon flavoring in Pedialyte. I could see it being a good mate for several lime concentrates, but I can’t really imagine any situation where I’d use it over LA Lemonade. Do you have any examples of where it really shines?
Most mixers from Oz that I've heard from use FW rather than LA, simply due to LA not being easily sourced. I'm sure you'd just need to change the balance of 'other lemon' (INW Lemon Mix or FA Lemon Sicily or JF Lemon or whatnot) to lemonade, and it would be ok.
Wasn’t there a different lemonade base using INW lemon mix? Can anyone speak to that?
The next few weeks look awesome btw.
I go back and forth on lemonade because it just seems too light alone most times. Definitely better to me with some pink in there. But, for sure, I start to get more excited when it’s more of a Palmer with fa Black tea added. I appreciate the dryness and how it plays with the fruit rather than a lighter ade. My only real adv before diy was zenith Orion raspberry lemonade. I still dabble in that pink profile on occasion.
I got fed up with how lemonade flavors tend to taste like Country Time powdered mix lemonade and made a real fresh-squeezed lemonade out of INW Lemon and INW Lemon Mix. It worked beautifully. Unfortunately, INW Lemon has since been reformulated (ruined, really) and I haven’t since revisited the “real lemonade” profile. When I do, INW Lemon Mix will almost certainly be a part of it.
Now I want to try a Palmer with TFA Sweet Tea. Though what I’d really like is a “Dirty Palmer” or Back Nine recipe with some Bourbon in there. Had a few attempts to make that work a long time ago but they failed. But now there’s VT Bourbon and that might be the key. I should get on that
Have you tried INW Shisha Lemon?
Hmmmm how long ago was lemon reformulated? I picked some up late last year, I think. Did I miss the boat?
Sweet tea would probably be a better pair for balance but I’m always happier when something is just top heavy.
Is lemon mix sweet, tart, citrusy, all of the above?
Good timing. I've been vaping your Frosted Lemonade for the last week. Knowing my bottle of INW Lemon won't last forever, I've been working on my own lemonade base. I haven't nailed it yet but I do know INW Lemon Mix will have to be in there. That, FE Lemon and VT Lemonade (clear) have given me the best results, so far.
You may want to try JF Lemon + JF Juicy Lemon. I know one of those is close to INW Lemon Mix. Lemon Mix, like FA Lemon Pledge... well, you need to be careful how much you use, or steep for long enough for it to not taste like aerosol. And when you combine them, even in individually okay levels... the combination has the same result. Not sure which volatile is responsible... but it's common to a number of lemons. I'd be interested in trying to mix a lemonade using just the zesty lemons, some cactus, and maybe FA Pear,.
Jf is gonna have to wait after I added all your last recommendations! Any opinion on my question to id10-t? Is there a lemon or lime that you know which can survive a steep of 2 to 3 weeks?
lemonade fw 7% strawberry tfa 3%
Any base recipes for a more tart lemonade? I like it a bit more sour.
Get INW Lemon Mix to add to whatever lemonade you like but would prefer to be a bit more realistic
