Great flavour: Mangosteen (FA)
submitted about 7 years ago by sagr0tan

I heard in one of my favourite commercial juices DVTCH "Megan" is Mangosteen flavour, so I bought it, didn't found many recipes with it, made some mixes to test it (with pomegranate, dragonfruit, Mango, with and without cooler, alone, nothing creamy/caky so far), they are barely a few days old and still steeping but already AWESOME!

Something completely different, between mango, lychee and herbal taste, almost tea-like, I just cannot describe it. Try it, I'll update this here when the flavour's fully developed. I can say so much: I love it!

Just had to share it with you guys.

Great and detailed review, thanks, although I'd describe the effect / flavour slightly different, but that again depends on so much and not at last on the subjectivity. (What a strange sentence...hmm, I'm totally sober...)

So let's take this as a reminder on a good review and a great flavour, thats not that present these days.

Isn't Mangosteen a really floral tasting kind of flavor/fruit?

Ya, floral is a good word, it definitely supports other fruits like peach or pomegranate imo

I used to like a peach mangosteen Snapple I think , don't see them much anymore.

I frequently mix FA Mangosteen with FLV Wild Melon, and INW Dragonfruit- these three flavors have a lot of synergy between them. I also like to sub this for CAP Sweet Lychee sometimes, because it is nowhere near as throat rapey.

yeah I've heard that mangosteen fruit is really delicious and exotic. I myself have never seen or tasted a mangosteen, its not something I've ever seen in grocery stores...shame really. I should pick up a concentrate and play around with it.

Yeah it’s also super nutritious too. It’s native to the philippines. I grew up literally eating it off the tree and it’s one of many fruits I miss having such easy access to being here in the US.

You can find them in Asian grocery stores sometimes.
