RDA Recommendations for beginner juice diyer
submitted about 7 years ago by y5nthon5a

I’ve never made my own juice or used an rda. What rda would you recommend (under $30) for a noob?

Wasp nano, of course :) Single coil, easy set up. You can use a 510 drip tip with it as well.

Perhaps try the drop dead? I love he dead rabbit but haven’t tried out the drop dead but from what I’ve heard it’s good.

I’m new to this too and I can tell you I’m very happy with the wasp nano. It’s dead simple, dirt cheap, and just a really thoughtful, minimalist design. Coming from a fireluke mesh tank, which has great flavor, the wasp is still a significant step up. For $15 you’ll have the perfect rda for your diy purposes.

Bonza! (Or Drop)

How is the bonza? I was looking at it for a while then decided I wanted single coil.

Well...I have 15 RDAs and the Bonza is easily my preferred one.

It just has no flaws at all, best of all other RDAs so to speak.

What I love most is the perfect perfect airflow and the build deck.

Can confirm. The airflow is sensational. Only con for me: sometimes clipping the 2nd coil legs is fiddly.

The Recurve is a most excellent single coil rda. I'm thoroughly pleased with mine and the flavor is on par with other single coil flavor rdas. Just as good as the Hadaly in my opinion. Super squonk friendly if you want that option too.

Did you take out the squonk pin?

Yes I did.

Me too and while I love the flavor on that thing the juice well is killing me with the constant need to redrip.

Throwing in the hadaly and entheon as perfect diy atomizers. Great airflow options, great for squonking, single coil attys

Look for velocity posts, they're probably the easiest to build on.

Cthulu Ceto. Easiest to wick.

You'r not specific enough, the DROP is awesome, but its mostly designed for dual coil, low resistance, so big cloud lots of flavour but it needs lot of power, running it on single battery squonk you need to switch battery often.

What kind of mod do you have? also what kind of vaper are you, into flavors? big clouds? both?

You can do a single coil build on a regular drop but not a beginner type thing and your better off going with the drop solo if you only want single coil and it's easy. I went with the drop solo and pulse bf 80w squonk mod. I also have a dead rabbit and bonza that I drip with. I have my dead rabbit running a single coil setup and it works awesome.

Yeah I tried the single coil (like you put it upside down), but its a bit tricky to set up and its a bit dull compared to dual. I also bought a nano, but its not my cup of tea (it gets dirty quite fast)

I am in a similar position with you just started mixing and got a Drop RDA as my first and I am quite happy with my set up. If you like open air flow, lots of flavour go for it. Also dripping gets old very fast because you are going to vape a lot because of the amazing flavour of the Drop so order yourself a squonk mod from fasttech since you are there. lol..

by y5nthon5aabout 7 years ago

Well, I would order a squonk mod right away, but I’m not even sure what flavors I’m gonna use yet haha, so I gotta figure out that then once I know what flavors I love, I’ll be squonking them! 8)

Finding out that is a journey. You can start looking into clone recipes of your favourite juice. Also 'DIY or DIE' is a good channel in youtube for beginners and there are also a lot of amazing mixers around here.

I don’t really have any favorites so far. I’ve just been doing mystery packs from companies and they’ve been ultra sweet candy fruit flavors haha. I seriously can’t wait to make a cinnamon danish topped with whipped cream type ejuice, for example 😻😻

get wotofo recurve, it is a great single coil RDA.

Are you using it for squonking or did you change the pin?

Squonking

That’s what I thought. Love the flavor and draw on that thing, regret taking the squonk pin out

Sxk entheon + hadeon cap, and a flave clone! My favorite two.

1 points

by JohannesVanDerWhalesabout 7 years ago

Well, $30 will buy you a clone of about anything off fasttech. Just recently got a recurve that seems nice.

1 points

by MasterBeernutsabout 7 years ago

I'm not a fan of the limited airflow of the Recurve. It doesn't get used much now.

by EdibleMalfunctionabout 7 years agoMixologist

The recurve is definitely for slightly restricted atty users. It's why I love it

1 points

by ID10-Tabout 7 years agoWinner of the 2nd DIYorDIE World Mixing Championship

Are you squonking with it?

1 points

by deanstreatabout 7 years ago

On the other side of the coin, I don't like how airy it is. I use a hadaly or entheon closed down to about 1/3rd open.

1 points

by gentagelseabout 7 years ago

Many to choose from. Look up on YouTube and see if there's something you like. Go for a deck that's easy to build on. Lookout for sales, often there's quite a bit of good deals out there. If you have a local vape shop, go down there and get a look at the rdas firsthand.
