Introduction:
These times are fraught with great cheesecake frustration. Many souls have wandered the desert looking for a solid cheesecake vape, only to experience crushing defeat at the hands of off notes and graham cracker crusts. I come with another message of hope. I found this combination after the pleasurable experience of single flavor testing INW - Yes, We Cheesecake. The cheesecake trinity is a 3,2,1 combination as follows:
|INW - Yes, We Cheesecake|3%| |:-|:-| |CAP - New York Cheesecake|2%| |TFA - Cheesecake (Graham Crust)|1%|
The INW - Yes, We Cheesecake is the best cheesecake flavor available and creates the base for the trinity. Capella - New York Cheesecake is the first support flavor, bringing an additional note of caramelized sugar for the crust, adding some serious creaminess, and opening the bridge to vanilla flavors a bit more. Lastly, the TFA - Cheesecake (Graham Crust) completes the crusty undertone portion of the trinity and adds another hint of dairy. This trio can be used in any capacity to add an authentic and delicious cheesecake profile to a recipe. It's okay in a SNV, but I really suggest waiting about a week for it to come together.
Recipes:
Lemon Curd Cheesecake:
|TFA - Cheesecake Graham Crust|1%| |:-|:-| |FE - Lemon|3%| |CAP - New York Cheesecake|2%| |INW - Shisha Vanilla|.5%| |CAP - Super Sweet|.5%| |LB - Vanilla Ice Cream|2%| |INW - Yes, We Cheesecake|3%|
Development Notes:
I was inspired to create this first recipe because lemon dessert profiles hold some significance to me. I stopped smoking with Charlie's Chalk Dust - Mr. Meringue, and the shortcomings of that liquid led to my pursuit of DIY. Additionally, one of my favorite recipes since I started DIY is Lemon Tart Remixed by dazcole. That recipe has all of the nuances I was searching for, and I would not change anything about it for a wonderful lemon tart. I've already covered the reasoning behind the cheesecake trinity, so I will elaborate on the other decisions. I used FE Lemon because I've tried various combinations of other lemon top notes that just do not work as well. This lemon flavor is a very sweet and non-invasive one that works in dessert applications magically. I originally purchased it to mix dazcole's lemon tart recipe, and after single flavor testing it I can absolutely see why it was picked. A lemon curd would not be complete without eggs and butter, so I decided to use LB Vanilla Ice Cream for this. Not only does it bring the elements required for the lemon curd, but it helps to connect the lemon curd to the cheesecake with vanilla notes and creamy texture. Lastly, INW Shisha Vanilla was added to bring a more distinct vanilla note to the cheesecake trinity. Sweetener is always optional.
Daveberry Cheesecake:
|TFA - Cheesecake (Graham Crust)|1.5%| |:-|:-| |CAP - New York Cheesecake|2.5%| |TFA - Pie Crust|1%| |FA - Red Touch (Strawberry)|1%| |INW - Shisha Strawberry|1.5%| |JF - Sweet Strawberry|.75%| |CAP - Super Sweet|.5%| |INW - Yes, We Cheesecake|4%|
Development Notes:
Full credit goes to u/ID10-T for the groundbreaking and delicious combination of strawberry flavors used in this. His description is more than sufficient: A unique strawberry syrup (INW Shisha Strawberry), a realistic freeze-dried strawberry (FA Red Touch), and a candy strawberry that puts CAP Sweet Strawberry to shame (JF Sweet Strawberry). This was used to create the semi-artificial strawberry topping for the cheesecake recipe. I decided to add some TFA Pie Crust to bring out the graham cracker crust a bit more, and deepen the profile to balance with the strawberry's tartness.
Holy Trinity Ice Cream:
|FA - Bilberry|.25%| |:-|:-| |FW - Blueberry|1%| |TFA - Blueberry (Extra)|1.5%| |TFA - Cheesecake (Graham Crust)|.25%| |CAP - New York Cheesecake|.5%| |INW - Yes, We Cheesecake|1%| |FLV - Cream|.5%| |TFA - Vanilla Swirl|1%| |WS-23|.5%|
Development Notes:
This recipe was inspired by the MixenVixens blueberry ice cream recipes. It utilizes u/EdibleMalfunction's Holy Trinity of Blueberry. I specifically picked Rin's Blueberry Ice Cream recipe as the inspiration for this, because she mixes at low percentages, and it really demonstrates the versatility of the cheesecake trinity. My favorite ice cream base is a combination of FLV Cream and vanilla, found in both Rin's Recipe and Longing. FLV Cream is a bit hard for me to summarize, other than by saying it's an incredible cream flavor and should be added to everything. Vanilla Swirl is the most common vanilla, with a smooth and unobtrusive vanilla taste and a ridiculous amount of body. FA Bilberry adds an awesome depth and muskiness that helps combat the muting effect of vanilla swirl, and it should always be used at a low percentage if you don't want to end up in Funky Town. FW Blueberry brings the blueberry flavor to the top with a bold somewhat-artificial flavor. TFA Blueberry (Extra) is a natural blueberry that helps tie into the ice cream seamlessly. You can try this with or without the WS-23, it was added because ice cream is cold.
Conclusion:
Thank you for taking the time to read through this. While I would love for you to try one of my recipes utilizing the cheesecake trinity, I am mostly sharing it because I want to try your cheesecake recipes with it. There are numerous ways I have utilized it, but u/Apexified is required to try every recipe submitted this month, so I will restrict myself to three.
My shopping list continues to grow. Thanks for sharing!
If it’s any consolation, I guarantee that every flavor used in this post is worth picking up.
I have quite a few but I need to add that inw cheesecake.
Thank you for sharing! I recently picked up YWC and hadn't seen much I could mix right away on ATF. I think I'll mix up the BlueBerry Trinity Cheesecake when I get home. Might try my hand on a couple other recipes using your base.
Ive been seeing a lot of great and in depth work from you. Great job! Enjoy the mixes you've been coming up with! Hope to expand your base into my own recipes.
If you make anything with it let me know! I’ll gladly try out your creation and give you an in-depth review.
I definitely will! Gonna need to get some more NYCC to really mess around with it but I should have enough for a few batches to try out.
Daveberry looks great too but I'm missing the JF Strawberry. May try a slight variation but I've been meaning to get the JF Strawberry for a while now.
This looks amazing! I'm putting together my second order ever now and I'm wondering if this is the correct cheesecake? Or do I need to get it elsewhere?
From what I understand INW only has one cheesecake, so that should be it!
Nice, thanks! You posted this at the perfect time. I was ordering/already have everything except INW YWCC.
What if I want blueberry cheesecake without ice cream? Lets mix both holy trinities.
But how do I adjust percentages?
You lowered amount of Blueberry trinity by 50% and Cheesecake trinity by 75%, except INW - Yes, We Cheesecake.
On top of that, those cheesecakes are often really dry, some cream is needed (CAP) Vanilla Custard 1.5%, (FW) Sweet Cream 2% worked great before.
So, starting point for blueberry cheesecake would look like that:
- TFA - Cheesecake Graham Crust 0.5%
- CAP - New York Cheesecake1%
- INW - Yes, We Cheesecake 2%
- TFA Blueberry Extra 1.5%
- FW Blueberry 1%
- FA Bilberry 0.25%
- (CAP) Vanilla Custard 1.5%
- (FW) Sweet Cream 2%
Or is this recipe way to waste whole bunch of aroma and effort?
I'm especially concerned with %.
The Holy Trinity Ice Cream was my way to test the trinity at low percentages, and it worked how I intended. Your percentages look great too! You can absolutely try that out. If you are looking for something to alter, I might try pushing the CAP Vanilla Custard to 4% for a rich blueberry cheesecake custard, however I’m sure you know that CAP Vanilla Custard is a long term steeping operation. If you mix this up let me know how it turns out.
Just theory crafting, wondered how to figure out percentages.
You guys always throw complicated formulas with exact percentages and they always work. I wondered, how can you figure out how much of every aroma to use, after deciding with ones to use.
After subscribing to this sub, well, I ordered 20+$ worth of aromas every week last 4 weeks :D So this one would be mixed only with my next flavor order and I restrain myself with those for a while.
That’s somewhat difficult to answer. There isn’t a standard method for creating recipes, and everyone has a different approach. Some people single flavor test everything at varying levels, while other people have never single flavor tested anything. It really boils down to the same answer that applies to anything you want to improve at: dedicate time to practice and don’t be afraid to fail. We’re lucky to have people in this community that create comprehensive flavor reviews, and those can give you an excellent idea of where to start.
Exactly what I've been looking for thank you so much for the contribution!!!
You’re very welcome!
I've been using
INW YWCC 3%
FA NY CC 2%
ooo Vanilla Custard CC 2%
and HS Italian Cream 1%
its been working really well for me lately, definitely my best base so far. Definitely going to try out your trinity, looks pretty solid. Thanks for the notes man!
Does the new FA cheesecake have a lemon note in it, that can even be covered up if it does?
Thanks for sharing ! Set the DIY aside for a while after trying some highly rated recipes, but didn't work for me.. liking the detailed info .. getting ready to give things another shot.. definitely going to give this a try🙄
Excellent post. I love cheesecake recipes and have experimented quite a bit with them. It's interesting, in that this trinity is the mixing of INW Yes Oui, and CAP NYCC. They're essentially 2 significantly different cheesecake styles, so the blending of the 2 won't really be the euro/british style cheesecake OR the American version. It will be a hybrid of them both. Don't get my wrong, it will probably taste great... and that is good. I guess I'm really searching for the perfect euro style cheesecake trinity, AND the perfect American style cheesecake trinity. This is not a critique of this excellent and detailed and wonderful post, just a thought for people to mull over and discuss.
Thank you for taking the time to read it! I am curious about what you mean by significantly different. I’ve never had a European style cheesecake, but from my understanding the main differences can be the type of cheese used and the crust. The UK variant seems to use cream cheese similar to American style cheesecakes, with the difference being a biscuit crust instead of graham cracker. Ricotta and Quark (Germany)/ Twarog(Polish) can also be used for the filling. Ricotta is a very mild, sweet cheese and the other two seem to lean towards tartness, which I don’t find in INW - Yes, We Cheesecake. So I think you might be able to create the recipe you are looking for using this trinity with the help of some additional flavors, but if not I hope you can create the profile you are looking for.
Legend. I'm at work right now - will read your whole post tonight when i get home. I just want to state, I re-read my comment and it implies that i have got, and am familiar with INW Yes Oui CC. I have mislead!! I don't have it, and have not even tasted it - I based my comment from other posts/flavour reviews here on redditDIY. I presumed it leaned more towards the LA Cheesecake flavour ie. more of a twangy/bitter/sour taste. The only way for me to get my hands on Yes Oui CC is to try and order from overseas, as it doesn't seem to be available in Australia.
I definitely recommend trying it out! I checked at all of the places I could think of for you to order it in Australia, and I couldn’t find it either. Inawera does ship to Australia directly though, so you could order it from them. I will say that cream cheese does have a slightly sour hint from the lactic acid content, so it could just be up to interpretation as to what variety they were going for. It also seems to have a note of graham cracker, but I’m sure if you wanted to apply my combination to your recipe you could bend that into a different type of crust.
I love seeing someone else using the great daveberry trinity! Looks good man, nice write up.
I just realized that I forgot to give you the proper credit for introducing it to me with Slow Deocide! I feel pretty awful about that oversight. It really is the best strawberry combination.
I've tried a ton of cheesecake recipes...got sick of them - as I'd made so much - so moved to custard, and most recently tobacco. YWC's been on the list for a while now, and seeing this great post inspired me to (get it and) get back to the cheese.
Of most interest though was the lemon curd :-) I've been trying to match WFFL's Lemon Curd on and off for a year. I doubt they use 'new' concentrates but I was planning to combine LB VIC and LB Belgian Waffle, and noticed your notes on FE Lemon.
So FE Lemon is in the post and INW YWC/JF SS arrived this morning (ordered yesterday too but not at chefs). I'm looking forward to making all three of these...almost saves me SFT'ing the YWC. I love INW custard and creme brulee, and I suspect this one might become another fave.
FE Lemon is definitely the best lemon to use for any type of dessert/bakery. I’m so happy I could inspire you to return to the cheese life! Please let me know what you think if you mix any of them up, I would love to hear your thoughts. You’re definitely going to enjoy the JF Sweet Strawberry too, it’s awesome. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my post, and leave such an awesome comment.
Thanks ! It's hard to find good recipes for tanks.. even asking on several sites/forums, not getting much input 🤔.. wondering if I just need to up my %'s a bit... I also vape low wattage.. maybe I'm just damned !! 😆😆😆
Well I’m here to help however I can! Can you give me some more specific information, like what tank, resistance, and wattage?
Im running a few different tanks, but mostly my GS AirII that comes with the eleaf istick Basic's. - .75 GS Air on coil, not sure on wattsge since its sn all-in-one, but its 2300mAh. I also run a Kroma with the Scion tank &.8 coils - that I run pretty low wattage.... usually between 25-35. 🙄. Basic stuff, but they work for me and theyve kept me cig free for 3 years now 😊. I appreciate any help! My current ADV is a Candy Cane & Vanilla Bean Ice Cream mix using Vape Wild juice.
Thanks for getting back to me! Instead of giving you a hypothetical answer, I went ahead and tried to recreate your setup and tested all of the recipes. For Daveberry Cheesecake you should be fine without adjustment, for Lemon Curd Cheesecake you can either try it as is or multiply everything by 1.25, and for Blueberry Trinity Ice Cream you’ll probably want to double everything but the WS-23. Then adjust to whatever sweetness level you enjoy and you’re good to go!
Is FE Lemon worth the $8 for buying it standalone, or is there a worthy substitute? I love me some lemon cheesecake but that flavor is a pita to find.
If you like lemon desserts I wouldn’t use anything else, it amalgamates perfectly and doesn’t die out after a long steep. It’s definitely worth it, and even if you don’t try my recipe there are a lot of awesome recipes that need it.
Just wanted to say I got the (FE) Lemon during the labor day sale and holy moley, worth every penny! Thank you so much!
Planning on giving the Lemon Curd Cheesecake a shot, I have everything ordered except the LB Vanilla Ice Cream. Do you think I could sub Cap Vanilla Ice Cream or Vanilla Custard (maybe a little bit of both) in it's place? Or is the LB Vanilla Ice cream essential to the mix?
