My big mouth eliquid literally tastes like vomit. Why?
submitted about 7 years ago by theo-lensky

So, I got a concentrate by Big Mouth. It's called "Ice Pop"
I've mixed it with a 70VG 30PG base and I've also added nicotine base rounding up to 1 mg nic in total

It has been steeping for 7 days now. Instructions say let it steep for 3-7 days.I
I've also followed the company's instructions to percentage for mixing with 70/30 base.

I tried it today and it has been one of the worst liquids I've ever tried.
I don't know if its jut my own taste buds because I've not had anyone try it except me yet but it both smells and tastes really really bad. Like something in between vomit and spoiled food.

There's another one I got from them called "Huggable" which smells similarly bad so I assume once I try it I'll get the same vomit-tasting experience.

Am I the one doing something wrong here? I can't see why the company making these makes like one of the best and at the same time worse flavors. Buying something from them has so far been a 50/50 chance of it being absolutely fantastic and it being absolutely disgusting.

Does anyone else have a similar experience with Big Mouth's concentrates?
If I'm doing something wrong please please give me some tips because at this point I have like 4-5 concentrates by Big Mouth sitting there for weeks just because I can't stand their flavor/smell.

Update: I've contacted the company via email asking for a full honest list of ingredients as suggested by a few users. There were some concerns that they might be putting weird stuff in their liquids so I'm quite curious to get a reply. I'll keep you guys updated on what's happening!

Sounds like they used CAP V2 or TFA dx flavours, they often taste like vomit. You could try steeping it for about two years and it might be vapable. I would complain to them, if they state the steep is a week and it tastes rancid after a week then it seems like a bad product.

Another guy on the electronic cigarette subreddit suggested I should write them an email and see what they say about it. I hope I can at least get an ingredients list!

I wouldn't count on the ingredients list but they should at least confirm/deny that there are v2 or dx ingredients. By the way, these flavours are not weird or necessarily inappropriate to use but they can be undesirable. Some people prefer them and there are, arguably, health reasons for doing so.

I really do not understand how a spoiled food/vomit flavor can be desired by people but that's just me. I do hope I get a satisfying reply from them since to me it's weird how some of their fruity flavors can be absolutely amazing while others so repulsive.

I had a few Big Mouth flavors and they all sucked for me. Not exactly like vomit, but not enjoyable at all. WAY to sweet and the steep didn't work out in the juices favor. I tried them after a few months of steep, just no.

So no, you're not doing anything wrong except buying Big Mouth flavors.

Yeah this is probably my last purchase. It sucks because I live in Eastern Europe and vaping is barely becoming a thing here. Not too many brands that I can buy concentrates from. I wish American brands became available here too. :/

You should start DIYing properly, then you know what you are vaping. Even one-shots can have who knows how much sweetener. Chefsflavours will ship to Eastern Europe, as well as darkstar or rainbowvapes I expect, and they all have what you need. Chefs also has loads of fantastic one-shots so you could get them if you don't want to dive in too deep yet.

I wish I had such horrible choices.

Just sayin'... you need to research a bit.

Thus far I've found TFA dx banana cream and dx sweet cream to be the worst. It takes a minimum 4 weeks to steep these, when a higher concentration. It is often harsh on the throat and catches in the throat until then as well. DIY wise, smaller concentrations and other flavours can help mask this and reduce steep times to some degree. I usually swap in whipped cream and such for dx sweet cream.
