Flavoring storage solution
submitted about 7 years ago by MrCandid

Hello Folks, I found a solution for storing and transporting my flavorings and wanted to share it with everyone. It has enough space to hold all of my flavorings, scale and a 177ml bottle of glycerin with space to spare.

Stanley Sortmaster STST14027 Dimensions are roughly 17"x13"x3.5"

Edit: added some links to purchase 1 and 2

Ha! I've got a few of those and I love them! They are stackable too. I've got everything sorted in there, they really are perfect.

To be fair, without any context it does look kind of dumb, but on the other hand, who the hell comments on random imgur photos?

The same weirdos who browse Imgur exclusively in the first place.

I believe the limeys have a term for those people - 'wankers'.

convenient. do you store the flavors in alphabetical order? by brand?

*edit- I just re-read, this is strictly for transport

No, I do use it for storage as well, I have them sorted by groups, fruits, creams, desserts, tobaccos, etc.

Edit: damned autocorrect

It doesn’t have to be for transport, you could definitely use it to store them. As for organization, I like alphabetizing them by name and then brand if there are duplicates. It makes it much easier to find what you’re looking for.

I've got the other Stanley box, the one with only removable yellow compartments. I did look at the other variations and just ended up getting the cheaper one. Do you have any problems with the dividers coming out or loose?

Eventually I'm going to need another one. Mine is currently filling up very quickly with fruit and bakery flavors. Having a second one would make keeping organized a little easier as I'd have room to divide things up by brand.

No issues with the dividers, but I don't travel with it, just room to room and store it flat.

Good to know. I don't travel with mine either. I just use it for easy storage where flavors are kept from falling all over the place and free of dust. I normally store my almost standing up, just kind of leaning against a toolbox. Haven't had any issues with leaking but that comes down to the bottles mostly.

Does the lid on this box close completely with 30 ml fat bottles of flavorings standing upright in this storage box? The ones with the clear, cone shaped caps... (These bottles measure about 3-3/8” tall.)

Most of my flavorings are in 10ml bottles and I only have around 15 flavorings in the 30ml bottles, the caps on these bottles do stick out a tiny bit but the lid does close.

I have this case, but have mostly 30ml bottles, the lid does bow a little, but I can still close the lid with a bit of force, if you take out the dividers, you'll need to arrange the bottles where the tips clear the divider slots molded into the lid or it won't close... otherwise its a great case.
