Would it hurt my growth to only use LB Basic pre mix base
submitted about 7 years ago by Kiviskus

Im new to mixing and started by getting some one shots and single flavors from liquid barn along with there pre bottled Basic in 3mg (its there premixed nicotine, vg, and pg in a 80/20). Would it hinder my progress as a mixer if I planned on just picking up there 500ml premix instead of buying nic/vg/pg seperate? I plan on still learning to mix by weight since I plan on making juices with more than one flavor concentrates.

Perhaps not your growth, but I'd definitely recommend getting it all separate. Being able to choose your VG/PG ratio is helpful, different profiles benefit from different ratios, and obviously you want to cater it to whatever device you're going to vape it in.

Also, when you're experimenting with new recipes it's beneficial to be able to toss failed experiments without wasting too much money. That's generally why I mix in small batches without nicotine when trying new things

not to mention the money saved by getting it separate. it's really not any harder just use a juice calculator and you're golden

I suppose it was more for space and convenience than anything but I do think it'll be better in the long run to purchase separately.

Getting it seperate, you can be more precise. You have more options getting them seperate as well.

I purchase them separately but then mix my own base to save time when mixing sft and developing recipes were I don't care if I have the exact nicotine strength or ratio.

Get 'em separate. I do mix up a few bases (I probably will cut back to one in the future that is premixed for 8% total flavor, and just top up several recipes with a bit of VG, and one that's regular strength unflavored. I prefer to keep nic strength constant.
