How do you open new empty chubby unicorns? (nicotine river)
submitted about 7 years ago by angryhumping

3 of the 10 empty chubby unicorns I just ordered from Nicotine River are now sitting there with the nozzle flattop stuck inside the cap, and I have no idea how to get those sonsabitches out.

What's the trick here, what am I missing? I did not anticipate needing a new degree for this scenario

I could be misinterpreting the OP... but doesn't screwing the bottle back in and then pulling hard, remove the nozzle from inside the cap? [edit - i misinterpreted]

After filling the bottle up. Screw the cap down tight. The unicorn tip seats in the bottle. So when opened and the seal is broken. It will be separated. For use.

Oh so it doesn't come out the first time until you're ready to actually put it on. I don't love that actually, makes it more annoying to give them an initial clean. But still, mystery solved, thanks

I think the intent is to prove whether or not the bottle has been tapered with. For say, sales. Much like a bottle of soda, has a temper evident seal once you crack it open. However if it's for personal use, obviously that does not matter.

Fill her up, put the lid on and twist and apply pressure until you hear a click. Then in a couple of days/weeks make sure you have a pair pliers to open the damn thing again.

So to open it after to reuse it (i know this isn't what you were initially asking) what I have found works the best is a pair of vice grips and put them over the threads just under where the lip to the tip is in and squeeze the video grips down on the grooves and pop! It comes shooting out.. A few have broken but I have had much better luck with this method

I've broke them like that. What I do is take my pocket knife and fit the edge in the groove below the cap of the tip, and just gently pry it up. If it doesn't come out right away spin the bottle around and do it to the other side

I use pliers. Pull it out from the tip.

Yeah it's crushed the tip and even broken the tip off if I do it multiple times on the same cap. I find the knife method works best but to each their own

I've had some luck with a small flathead screwdriver. Both for getting the tops out of the lids, and removing the tops from the bottles. Always point the blade away from yourself when prying.

I use a pocket knife and wedge it between where the two pieces meet, and try to pry it apart that way. I haven't broken any yet, so I guess it's good enough

Needle-nose pliers

I actually use normal pliers they get more of a grip and i dont have to apply as much force to get the cap off. Used to do it with needle noses but mangled the nozzles pretty bad occasionally.

They are designed to seat the tip on the bottle once you screw on the cap. Just fill the bottle, screw on the lid right, open and the tip will be left on the bottle.
