After 1 year of DIY I am struggling with no aftertaste with all my recipes.
It doesn't matter the quantity of flavours used, complexity of the recipe, or total concentration.
Even at different PG/VG ratios the result is always the same: awesome smell and taste but no aftertaste (i am referring i.e. to the typical sweet afterstaste of all Chalk Dust ejuices).
I have read all existing tutorials, and found very unique and awesome taste/smell mixes. But still don't understand where that buttery/biscuit aftertaste typical of the premium ejuices is supposed to come from, exactly.
Enhancement / fixes i have tried so far, but with no success:
- Ethyl malthol
- Supersweet
- Honey / Coconut / Golden butter
- Various combination of Marshmallow / Meringue / Cheesecake
I am really clueless. Any suggestions?
Mostly what you seem to be wanting is the aftertaste from sucralose. At least for the sweet part. For the other, a small amount of tfa butter may be what you want.
To add on to this, since this is the correct answer, this also causes the lingering effect with vaping. It's not just sweetness but sucralose also makes the profile hang around.
Also, to add on again, it leaves a kind of syrupy coating on your tongue that helps the flavor to stick around after an exhale. A lot of unsweetened juices are very dry and bland to me, but I think it's because I drink so much soda that my taste buds are totally borked from the sugar since they've all smelled great.
Are you using V2/DX versions? You kinda need the diketones to get proper butter. INW Biscuit is a heavy buttery biscuit, CAP Vanilla Custard leaves a dense butter aftertaste, need a fair bit of steeping though to really come forward. FA Coconut is a shortcut, it leaves a long lasting waxy dairy note, combine it with butter and you can taste it for several minutes afterwards. Just some ideas to try.
Sounds like you need INW Biscuit. Put .5%-1% of that in your mixture and tell me there's no aftertaste. You can't. It sits on the very tail end of the exhale and is all like HI I'M INW BISCUIT. For less in your face alternatives try:
Fa Cookie
TPA Graham Cracker Clear
JF Biscuit.
For the best cheesecake graham, ever, try INW Yes, We Cheesecake. You can't use this just for it's graham properties however. It needs to be the star of the show with minimal added creams.
I'm pretty sure the commercial aftertaste you are talking about is Cap Vanilla Custard V2. Yes, V2. That shit used to be in everything and I'm pretty sure Chalk Dust is from that same era.
