So I quit vapping a good while ago and I am finally ready to let go of my DIY stuff. My question is about flavors and nicotine. I bought most of my stock in Dec of 2016 and still have a lot. The flavors have been stored in a dark and at room temp. Do you all think they are still good? Maybe some loss of potency? All still look good.
My main concern is the nicotine. I purchased 250ml of 100mg nicotine and split it into 30ml bottles. Stored in the freezer until I need it. It is still as clear as the day I got it but I really don't want to poison anybody. Figured I would ask you fine folk what your opinions may be. Thanks in advance!
Edit: Hopefully everyone that commented sees this. Thanks for all the input. My main concern was poisoning my buddy. I told him the flavors might be off and he said it was fine. Other than that he will have everything he needs to make a boat load of ejuice!
Thanks again. The vapping community has always been good to me. Vape on ladies and gentlemen!
Nicotine is still good if it was stored in the freezer.
Flavors are not worth handing off at almost 2 years old. They will be nowhere near the starting potency and anyone using them will be confused as to why their recipes don’t taste like anything.
The nic is fine.
Some of the flavors may have lost their finer notes, some may have started to taste a bit off, but most of them should be fine for personal use. It depends on the flavor, the container and how much you've opened it, etc. As long as you're aware that the flavors are probably a bit off and don't blame the recipes for it, there's no reason not to use them up unless they actually taste bad.
Definitely depends on the flavor. I made a Baja Blast recipe for my wife using flavors that were about 1-1/2 years old, and the taste was unrecognizable. The top notes were missing in action, you might say. Seems like citrus flavors in particular don't age well.
12-18 months in a cool dry place. In the freezer quite a bit longer. If the air is replaced with a neutral substance such as argon it can last for years in a deep freeze. I'm using nic from January 2011and it's fine.
Edit: from 2011. Im a bit buzzed. Sorry about the typo.
