July 2018 Recipe Thread
submitted about 7 years ago by ApexifiedSuckling from the teats of Daenerys Targaryen

This is the thread to share all of your best individual creations. If you want to share your recipe as its own post, it must have extra content such as development process, variations, etc - but please post it here as well for posterity. We also have weekly threads for general/new mixer questions and "help me mix something with these flavors" threads. Please help keep the community "clean" by posting in appropriate threads.

If you need help formatting your recipe, choose one of the following:

<Flavor> (<Vendor>) @ x%
<Flavor> (<Vendor>) @ x%
<Flavor> (<Vendor>) @ x%

Or if you'd like to use a "fancy" table:

Co. | Flavor | %

---|---|----

A1 | A2 | A3
B1 | B2 | B3

Co. | Flavor | % ---|---|---- A1 | A2 | A3 B1 | B2 | B3

Be sure to check out all the fantastic creations from the June thread.

Congrats to both /u/xGRANITEx & /u/juthinc for having the top-rated recipes last month. Every time I refreshed the page, they switched places but the final refresh before posting this has /u/xGRANITEx in the lead...

For my debut recipe thread I reached out to Bull City Flavors and asked if they'd be interested in honoring the winner of the monthly thread. They loved the idea. So for the first (and probably last) time ever the top-rated recipe poster not only gets a shoutout but also wins a $25 gift card from BCF.

Happy Mixing!

Man this subreddit went downhill fast. What happened to that cool guy that used to do these threads?

Thanx Apexified, for picking up the task. Since this is a top-level post, I better present a recipe. I'm not doing this ironically; I think it's a little important. I mixed up a recipe about 2-3 months ago that made me hack like crazy, but I vaped through probably 250 ml of it because I really liked the flavor profile. Near the end of that run I decided I wanted to go back to basics and see if I could get rid of the coughing. So now I present to you all the worst recipe of all time:

Unflavored by /u/kirkt
Nicotine (Insert favorite vendor) (Insert desired percentage)
PG until the bottle is about 30% full
VG to top it off

Stupid, right? But here's what it has done for me.

 • Stopped the coughing
 • Reset my palate. I can taste flavors more vividly than I have in a while.
 • Taken a week's worth of mixing down to a couple of minutes
 • Given me a tool for re-discovering old favorites (see below)

I've been vaping this "mix" for weeks and TBH it's earned a spot in my full time rotation even when I eventually go back to trying new recipes every week or so. It's inoffensive to the lungs, gives me the habit and nic I want, and has a side benefit I didn't expect. Lately, every 30-60 minutes, I'll add a few drops of an old favorite onto the coils (I use RDTAs almost exclusively) and BAM there's a flavor explosion that allows me to experience old favorites like I haven't been able to in a long time. Today, every half hour or so, I've been putting 3 drops of Skidz' Bourbon Bread on the coils. Yesterday it was Botboy's Peanut Butter Cookie. Let me tell you, I've enjoyed these recipes more than when i was doing them as ADVs. Going from just the slight sweetness of PG/VG blend to a full-flavored profile in one puff has been a real eye-opener. If you're feeling a little burned out, I urge you to give it a try.

Wait a min.. is this a clone of Vapewild's Unflavored? Congrats for cracking that, it looks spot on.

For real, though, I'm overdue for a palate reset and this is a great idea.

Thanks for the thread, too. But feel free to take it back anytime. I mean, I posted it and I'm tempted to downvote it for not having your name attached so it's not hard to see why others are doing the same.

I really want to mix this up but don’t know if I have all the stuff for it. Can I sub flv native for the pg?

Seriously though I think flavorless is icky but it’s mostly because I use it to break in my cotton and it always reminds me of the fresh nasty cotton taste. I been vaping with my brother who is stuck on sweetener and can’t taste anything that doesn’t have it. Calls my diy juices ‘dirt’ because they’re all without sweetener. Maybe I’m just as cray. I’ll consider vaping a full tank. For science.

NO SUBSTITUTIONS. Make it like I says or Imma have my cousin come over and break your knuckles.

Cotton wicks? What is this, 2017? Check out cellu-cotton my friend.

Oooh, Brooklyn in da bizz-ouse! I’m actually about to dedicate a tank to flavorless right now. I’ll make sure to leave a review on atf.

by isuamadogabout 7 years ago

Funny side note: I took a 5ml tank that was almost empty. Had some juice my brother asked me to taste in it and figure out what the flavor was (long story). I filled it with my unflavored base I keep on had figuring I’d be lazy and slowly transition to flavorless. And the juice that was previously sort of nondescript became one insanely familiar flavor: inw biscuit. It was crazy. Made me realize how some flavors hold up to percentages and some don’t. Also, how just one extra flavor can make something totally different that’s not always predictable. And lastly, that my process of getting to know flavors is actually working even if slowly.

I hate SFT. I used to think I lacked the imagination to make flavor notes and think up combinations. Now I concentrate on a flavor or profile and mix up a few established recipes to see how other people have bent them. And then I gain familiarity with what the flavors can do that way. So here I am with this stripped down juice and all I can taste is manner which I enjoyed as I got to know biscuit.

Point is: I can actually pick out flavors.

I can't do sweetener either. I mixed up a cereal recipe I found, added probably 2 drops of Cap Super Sweet into a 30ml bottle and it's way too much for me. That stuff is strong. I tried a few drops of the SS into a glass of water and it was like sugar water.

2 points

by isuamadogabout 7 years ago

Crazy thing though is that I mixed my brother up some stuff at 2% sweetener and was like holy moly! While it was way too sweet for me, the flavors did POP. I realized why it has a place in the arsenal. I also mixed up a crazy blueberry bourbon cake that he didn’t like and it’s knocking my socks off. So I’m reevaluating my stance on sweetener.

Might actually give this a shot in my squonker.

Been feeling really 'meh' about mixes/recipes/flavours lately - kinda just bored of everything.

by dontpanic4242about 7 years ago

Thinking about doing the same. Not sure how much seeping or mixing of flavored/unflavored will happen though. Just due to little bits of juice that may get sucked back down into the bottle.

by amouthforwarabout 7 years ago

any particular reason you went with like a 70/30-ish mix and not just straight nic and vg?

I like to just drip plain VG between switching flavors, a few drip/puff rotations and it cleans out nearly all of the old flavor (and seems to sort of clear up the wicks a bit too). But haven't vaped unflavored itself for much longer than that.

2 points

by kirktabout 7 years agoBring on the Diacetyl, baby

No other reason than I usually mix 70/30 VG/PG with my flavored mixes.

FWIW, for years I have also carried a Joyetech AiO with high nic and all PG as a stealth vape (for things like long plane rides where I will want a couple bursts of nic to satisfy cravings without blowing a big cloud). Completely different experience.

I'm going to be mixing and testing a million different tobaccos in the near future so I might as well go flavorless for a bit to prepare myself I think.

Thanks for putting this up! It was a good reminder to chill out on the flavors lol

I really, really struggled not to ask the steep long time...
On a serious hand, I mixed some unflavored yesterday evening, and I am shocked at how much of the flavor I'm used to, are just vg/pg. I really need a break from flavor city. Thank you, kind stranger.

Purplesaurus Rex

This is a grape lemonade recipe designed for low voltage pod systems using nic salts.

 • FLV Grape 1.5%
 • INW Lemon Concentrate 3%
 • INW Lemon Mix 1%
 • CAP Super Sweet 0.25%
 • WS-23 2%

Steep: SNV

Children of the eighties know that before Barney, there was the OG purple dinosaur. Purplesaurus Rex didn't show you he loved you with a great big hug; he crashed through your wall with his pal Koolaid Man in a face-melting blast of super fruity flavor. This was one of my favorite summertime drinks as a kid, second only to Hi-C Ecto Cooler. This mix hits the flavor profile perfectly.

FLV Grape has an artificial/candy grape flavor, like grape bubblegum or grape Kool-Aid. An obvious choice here.

Thanks to u/botboy141's original INW Lemonade combo (and to u/ID10-T for pointing it out in the FOTW Lemonade thread), I used INW Lemon Concentrate and INW Lemon Mix at a 3:1 ratio for a great lemonade base. The Lemon Concentrate is a sweet candy lemon flavor, and the Lemon Mix adds a touch of tart lemon zest. This is actually a more authentic lemonade than is probably called for in a Koolaid flavor profile, but with the FLV Grape on top, I think it still works best here. If it's too lemony for you, try leaving out the Lemon Mix.

You can adapt the recipe for sub-ohm vaping by reducing the fruit flavors by 30% and the coolant by 50% (FLV Grape 1%, INW Lemon Concentrate 2%, INW Lemon Mix 0.7%, Cap Super Sweet 0.25%, WS-23 1%).

EDIT: Added flavor notes.

INW Grape(s) tastes more like actual grapes. At higher percentages, you can even taste the seeds in the grapes. If you’ve ever tried /u/philosaphucker’s Grack Juice, INW Grape is at the center of that recipe. It’s delicious, but not what I was going for here.

Retalitory Tariffs

Co. | Flavor | % ---|---|---- TFA | DX Peanut Butter | 6 TFA | Kentucky Bourbon | 2.25 TFA | Bavarian Cream | 1.5 FLV | Caramel | 0.75 FLV | Bourbon | 0.75 FW | Hazelnut | 0.75

A Bourbon-infused Peanut Butter

Inspiration for this recipe came from two places. First, reading a news article about the EU striking back against the Trump Trade War with targeted tariffs on US peanut butter and Bourbon (as well as OJ and motorcycles). It was already a work in progress that had sort of been back-burnered but got a second wind when I watched /u/enyawreklaw try to turn his Blackout recipe into a milkshake. You can see the influence of Blackout on this final version, with the TFA Bavarian Cream and FW Hazelnut used to support the Peanut Butter. Blackout also used FA Caramel and TFA Brown Sugar, and here you see them consolidated in one concentrate, FLV Caramel. This stuff ties the recipe together in a way that other ingredients in previous attempts didn't. One thing both Bourbon and peanut butter flavors have in common is that they pair exceptionally well with caramel and brown sugar-type flavorings.

TFA DX Peanut Butter. You might be wondering about the DX Peanut Butter. Sure, you could sub TFA Peanut Butter. But here is why you shouldn't: It's fucking better. Like, every PB recipe ever made with TFA Peanut Butter should probably be reformulated to be made with the DX version instead. That much better. Apparently others have come before her and I should have paid attention to them, but the DX version wasn't on my radar until /u/RinVapes used it in her Cereal Bar recipe and talked about it on Mixin Vixens. Had Rin lost her mind? TFA DX flavors are disgusting. They've taken out the delicious diketones and replaced them with vomit flavor! The couple of DX flavors I'd tried in past made me dry heave. But my curiosity was sparked so I checked TFA's spec sheets and guess what? There's no barfy butyric acid in TFA DX Peanut Butter, just pyraziny goodness and some vanillin. So naturally, I had to try this. WOW! TFA Peanut Butter, you're dead to me. It's like comparing past-the-sell-by-date dollar store peanut butter to Smucker's Natural. Still seems to have some of the problems of TFA Peanut Butter (weak, dries out and gets muddy with a steep, probably needs a good shake before using because it separates but that's good practice anyway) but the flavor and authenticity is top notch in my opinion, far batter than any other PB flavor I've tried and there have been a lot of them.

Sweetener: Always optional, and you might want to add some. I've left it out because I think FLV Caramel adds a plenty of sweetness to this and gives it a lingering, brown sugary finish.

Steeping: Overnight, and while I've not tried this exact recipe with long steep, earlier versions suggest that I probably don't want to. PB just doesn't seem to be built for long steeping.

You're crazy, PB and Bourbon don't go together. Yes, they do. Peanut Butter Infused Bourbon is a very real and beautiful thing and you can make it yourself at home if you don't believe me. Now, this is not that, this is Bourbon-infused peanut butter, simply because that's what I wanted to vape. But, if you wanted to make a peanut butter infused Bourbon vape I think that would be easy enough using this recipe as a starting place but turning the PB down by half, roughly doubling the bourbon flavors, and probably adding some VT Bourbon for more of a boozy bite (TFA, FLV, and VT are the Holy Trinity of bourbon flavors - one for sweetness, one for charred oak, and one to booze it up).

to be completely honest I've tried to use it before to clone /u/afflaq Elixir 08 (with the wrong flavors of course because that's how I roll) and it was good but I wasn't amazed. Maybe I just don't pick up on nutty flavors that well, I've always had a bit of a difficulty discerning nut flavors. They're all pretty indistinct to my palette for some reason. I can taste the general notes they bring to a mix but I was never like YUP THAT'S PEANUT BUTTER or YUP THAT'S ALMOND/HAZELNUT/etc.

My first mix that I feel is good enough to share:

Pineapple Express

This started off as a clone/remix of a juice by the same name from Drip Forge, which is local to me. Two years ago they changed their recipe and added marshmallow, which I wasn't a fan of. Trying to get back to something closer to the original that I also like a bit more. The original had more of a greek yogurt taste but my goal is to have a sweet/tart, refreshing, light-medium bodied pineapple cream using cream cheese icing and I'm loving how the flavors work together. I add a hint of DIYFS Holy Vanilla, but it's not necessary. Could probably be subbed for INW Shisha Vanilla based on the notes I've read, but I don't actually have that so I can't check. The vanilla is supposed to be pretty subtle anyways. Either way, vanilla should be kept at a low percent; too much mellows out the tartness and makes it feel "heavier". I tried ethyl vanillin and it's awful with this recipe. Meringue complements both sweetness and tartness and is just a wonderful pairing with CAP Golden Pineapple. I'm mixing this at 20/80. I’m vaping it fresh right now and it’s good, but I’d say minimum 4 days recommended 2 weeks.

Co. | Flavor | % ---|---|--- CAP | Golden Pineapple | 5 INW | Pineapple | 1.2 LA | Cream Cheese Icing | 2.6 DIYFS | Holy Vanilla | 0.2 FA | Meringue | 1

Open to suggestions on how to improve this even further.

Edit: Reducing Meringue, increasing pineapple slightly. Lowered total flavor % to flat 10%

Congrats on your first shared recipe, I'm gonna mix it up to celebrate that and also because it looks like it might be pretty good.

You don't say in the notes so I'm curious what INW Pineapple brings to the table at that low of a percentage. It's a great flavor but weak for INW, I tend to start at 4% and work up but perhaps I've been doing it so long I've overlooked its potential when used lower.

3 points

by Sponcotelloabout 7 years ago

I dug around in the weekly flavor threads before mixing. Users say that CAP golden pineapple and INW pineapple are good compliments to each other. I see where most people mix INW high and CAP low, but with CAP supposedly being a more tart flavor I was trying to bring more of that out while still keeping INW’s compliments. Do you think it would be worth a shot to go high on INW?

9 points

by Apexifiedabout 7 years agoSuckling from the teats of Daenerys Targaryen

If I were you I'd just mix up a small bottle without the INW so you can get an idea of what it is or isn't doing in the mix. My guess would be that it's just hiding out in the background but you'll have a better idea having experienced both versions.

I love a good pineapple mix!! I’m going to try it out next time I mix. I Vape pineapple all day, every day. Usually a mix of golden pineapple, tfa pineapple, lb pineapple and tfa marshmallow. I’m not sure what I love so much about it because I don’t like pineapple, but hey, it’s good and sour. I have a hard time finding flavors that have the right mouthfeel, if that makes any sense? Thanks for the recipe! I’m excited to try it out 😁😁

Just mixed this up today. It's delicious and right up my alley for the kind of flavor profiles I enjoy. Its light, creamy, airy and fruity. I haven't liked many pineapple recipes in the past because I've always disliked that artificial pina colada taste. This however, feels sophisticated and realistic. It's like vaping a pineapple whipped cream pie with a hint of meringue. I can just picture the gooey chunks of baked pineapple filling at the bottom of the fluffy whipped cream. Good job!

Dragon Nectar

TFA Nectarine is my favourite flavour at the moment after buying it to work on a Pacha Mama Fuji clone which I'm still tinkering with. I have discovered that this and TFA Dragonfruit are a perfect match. The Nectarine feels like the perfect finish to the tropical beginning of the Dragonfruit inhale, and with the body and warmth of INW Shisha Vanilla added it makes for a delicious warm fruity vape. Hope you enjoy.

Dragonfruit - TFA @ 3%

Nectarine - TFA @ 2%

Shisha Vanilla - INW @ 0.5%

I recommend at least 48 hours steep.

Dang, I love both nectarine and dragonfruit, but do not have shisha vanilla. Any idea for a sub, VBIC maybe?

2 points

by laffs_about 7 years ago

Well I added the vanilla mainly for the texture element, as the 2 fruits alone are slightly dry for my taste so I wanted to give it a bit more substance. You do get a hint of vanilla but you probably wouldn't notice if you didn't know it was there.

I've never used VBIC but if it sounds like it'll do the job then give it a go. Marshmallow is probably the usual go to flavour for adding body but I'm not very keen on it personally.

Looks good! I don’t have TFA nectarine - is it a strong flavor? I’m not used to seeing TFAs at such low percentages.

1 points

It is quite strong yes. In a different recipe I have TFA Nectarine at 3% out of total 14% and it's the dominant flavour to my palette. I tried to get the Dragonfruit and Nectarine to be equal in this so I dropped it down a bit.

INW Yes We Cheescake 3%

INW Custard 3%

INW Shisha Vanilla 1%

FLV Sweetness 0.25%

3 day steep.

INW Yes We Cheesecake is a mild cream cheese with biscuit notes. 3% INW Custard gives it a custard boost and more body. 1% INW Shisha Vanilla rounds it out. A few drops of sweetener recommended. Really nice after a day. Best after 3.

Key Lime Cheesecake

 • Cheesecake Graham Crust (TFA) 2%
 • Custard (FA) 1%
 • Fresh Cream (FA) 1%
 • Florida Key Lime (FA) 2.5%
 • Meringue (FA) 1.5%

Steep time: 5 days, I mix 25/75 PG/VG

This is one of the first recipes I put together myself, looking at a bunch of cheesecake bases on ATF, and cobbling together a middle path I was happy with, and tinkered with the Florida Key Lime until the balance was right for my palate.

Meringue is a flavor that I'm frequently very careful with, as it can mute flavors, but I found that it didn't affect my cheesecake base very much, and helped keep the strong key lime flavor in check.

I've had this mix in my rotation unchanged since October, so I'm pretty confident that it is done.

I like this a lot but I feel like it needs a lime boost. I added 1.5% FA Lime Tahity Distilled and it helps. You could also use a really small amount of FLV Lime (0.3%).

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I think you should lower the key lime too. I get a kind of waxy note from it above 2%. Of course this is subjective to my tastes. Otherwise it's a really solid recipe.

1 points

by Goodguykyabout 7 years ago

Wow! Great minds think alike! I have been trying to make a creamy keylime. I used I different crust recipe I got from DIY Smores video, and sweet cream instead of fresh.

I feel like the key lime is more of a lime zest or fresh lime flavor. I trying lime Tahiti and cap lemon lime to try to give it a sweeter lime flavor. Also used CAP Van cust. V1 and the sweet cream to try to sweeten the lime.

Banana Nut Bread Pudding

Flavor Co.|Flavor|% :--|:--:|--: TFA|Banana Nut Bread|5 TFA|Banana Cream|1 TFA|Acetyl Pyrazine 5%|1 CAP|Cinnamon Danish Swirl|1 INW|Creme Brulee|1.5 FLV|Vanilla Pudding|3

Total 12.5%

7+ Day Steep

I made this recipe at the request of a friend and after a few iterations, I'm finally happy with it. I used Banana Nut Bread by TFA as a jumping off point. It's a great flavor that has a delicious banana note (albeit light), with a nice nut and bready bakery texture. This is the foundation for our recipe.

AP is here to boost those bready and nutty notes, and after a nice steep it works very nicely. I know it seems a touch high, but trust me on this one. It's one of the first times I've used it this high, but after folkart used it in his Boss Reserve Clone to great effect, I had faith it would work here. It did.

TFA Banana Cream is here to help out that light banana note, we only need a little( it also lends creaminess to our pudding). When I think of Banana Nut Bread I need some cinnamon in there, so CAP Cinnamon Danish Swirl does wonders adding that note, and solidifying that bread that our recipe calls for.

Brown sugar is needed in the mix as well, but I decided to skip the TFA Brown Sugar - we use INW Creme Brulee to thicken up that pudding base and to add that brown sugar caramelization. FLV Vanilla Pudding is a great creamy base that is very accurate to it's name, and really puts this recipe right where it needs to be. It brings some thickness and vanilla, and in combination with the Banana Cream and Creme Brulee it makes a nice pudding to drop our banana bread into. All these flavors play together well and it makes for a very tasty vape!

Seems pretty close to my personal banana bread mix actually! Super delish. I like adding a bit of. Bananas foster actually, for that syrupy mooshy banana vibe :) flv vanilla pudding was an excellent choice too!

I think if you're after that super soft, gooey bruised up banana like you'd use for real banana bread, TFA nanas foster is the one man. Its perfect for banana bread mixes paired with BNB and nana cream. Plus its awesome on its own! I dont get any chocolate from it if thats what youre afraid of, just straight banana and caramelized deliciousness

Chem Twista Lime

 • FA 7 Leaves- 1%
 • FLV Classic Cigarette- .3%
 • HS Desert Ship- 1%
 • FA Royal- .5%
 • INW Shisha Lime- .8%
 • INW DNB- .8%
 • FLV Turkish- 1.3%

Steep 2 weeks

It’s a cigarette with a pinch of lime. Sounds weird, right? I thought so too when /u/ID10-T told me I should try to make a Camel Twista Lime recipe for Mixers Club. Over the month of trying out various different versions of this, it kind of grew on me and started to make sense. Day drinking some beer in the summer is better with two things: cigarettes and a slice of lime. Why not put them together in a recipe?

Most of the recipe is focusing on the cigarette aspect, but I wanted it to be the kind of tobacco that would take on the lime without too much clashing. The 7 Leaves and Classic Cigarette are the big players for that. They are brighter Tobaccos that bridge the gap between the darker, spicier notes of the Desert Ship and Turkish. The Royal I am not really using for any tobacco taste, because it doesn’t really have any. It does, however, have a little hint of cooling with some fruity notes to it. Really helps keep this thing refreshing.

I picked up two different lime flavors to play with, and didn’t test any further than INW Shisha Lime. It just felt right, so it was the only one I bothered playing with.

[Mango Pineapple (For Nic Salt Pod Devices)] (https://alltheflavors.com/recipes/110781#mango_pineapple_for_nic_salt_pod_devices_by_kindground)

This simple recipe is meant for low wattage MTL devices like the Juul and Suorin Air/Drop.

After 5-6 iterations I really like this mix. I tried INW Pineapple and FLV Mango but when I pushed them high enough to saturate the flavor it wasn't what I was looking for. The Capella Golden Pineapple and Sweet Mango can go pretty high without getting all weird.

I was still missing some depth, so I went searching other mango recipes. It seemed that people were using peach to brighten things up a little and fill out the profile. So I went with all Capella and used Juicy Peach. You can't taste it much but it rounds out the profile well.

 • Sweet Mango CAP @ 12%
 • Golden Pineapple CAP @ 8%
 • Juicy Peach CAP @ 4%
 • Sucralose 10% dilution @ 1%

Don't be afraid of the high percentages of flavoring. These devices need triple to quadruple the amount you'd use for a typical RDA. I wanted something where the flavor was super saturated and this recipe really works well.

I tried to keep this as a very accessible recipe as most people already have these flavors in their stash. If you use CAP Super Sweet instead of what I used, cut the percentage in half if not more.

EDIT: words

How much money did you spend on those damn Sourin pods developing this?

3 points

by kindgroundabout 7 years ago

Lol not many. I kept emptying them with a blunt tip syringe then putting it back in the bottle then adjusting percentages. I think I only used 2 because I really only tried 2 different base recipes.

Luckily I found a shop around the corner that sells them $3.99 a pod all day long.

by Cheapeauxabout 7 years ago

This looks good. I'll try it. I have really enjoyed pod systems for a pocket/stealth vape.

Try the Smok Infinix. I get much better flavor and airflow than from the Suorin Drop. I ordered 20 empty pods from fasttech for less than $3 each so I'm set for a while. I run plain PG/VG through them to clear out old flavor, and they seem to run pretty well for about 10-12 refills. I haven't tried rebuilding them, but I know people are doing it.

Mango Crack

I first ran into this recipe on EcigsSa posted by Andre in 2016, it was posted prior to this on Reddit, but the authors name is deleted, so I don't know who the original creator was. Maybe some of you folk do...I'd be interested to know in order to thank him.

I'm reposting this now for the benefit of new mixers who might not have run into this one. Delicious and has been one of my favorites since I first mixed it up.

Cap Sweet Mango @ 6%

TFA Dragonfruit @ 2%

FA Fuji Apple @ 1%

FW Papaya @ 0.5%

Inw Cactus @ 0.5%

The Reddit posting called for EM (which Andre eliminated, and I agree, fine without it) and changed TFA papaya to FW papaya. Sometimes I'll add one drop of Stevia, usually I don't, it's great on its own. I also found that after a month it begins to lose some of its brightness or punch, so I didn't mix up more than 30ml at a time. I found a work around tho...I'll mix up say 120 mls, let that steep a couple days, save out 30 mls and then refrigerate the rest. It doesn't lose any of its brightness in the fridge, stays essentially unchanged for a few months if I leave it that long, usually I can't, I get to craving the stuff. This is a nice, full flavored juice, and the cactus gives it a nice wetness and brings out a touch of rind I think. This might not be considered a complex or multi-layered recipe by todays standards, but it's just damned good anyway. Surprisingly excellent.

I know there are many, many stellar mango recipes out there. I happen to think this is one too, and wanted to bring it out of archive for folks attention.

M.O.P.

Mango Orange Pineapple. Pretty simple and straight forward. I think it's pretty well balanced and tastes like a single flavor blend rather than mango + orange + pineapple. Mango does sit a little more at the front however but the orange and pineapple follows through immediately. I have not tried this without Super Sweet and WS-23 so I would include these ingredients. Maybe not so good without; I can't say. Pure shake and vape. Good mouthfeel, low to no throat hit.

<Juicy Orange> (<Cap>) @ 4.0%
<Golden Pineapple> (<Cap>) @ 2.5%
<Sweet Tangerine> (<Cap>) @ 2%
<Mango> (<FLV>) @ 2.5%
<WS-23> (<???>) @ 0.5-1.0%
<Super Sweet> (<Cap>) @ 0.5%

Akane

 • INW Tobacco Oriental- 3%
 • INW Tobacco Absolute Garuda- 1.5%
 • INW DNB- 1.3%
 • INW Turkish- .5%
 • FA Ozone- .25%

Steep two weeks

A simple Oriental blending/RYO that is light on flavor and I was really trying to capture the feel of smoke. I’ve been searching for a good ADV to alternate with my Brigade 2506 just to have a little more variety. In the last year or so I’ve experimented with more complex and flavorful recipes, but they always end up overwhelming my senses after about 30 ml, and I have to put them away for a few weeks. I thought I’d try to go a different route- nothing too robust or complex, and as smoky as I can make it so it doesn’t get old, and it doesn’t stop satisfying.

INW Oriental- it’s a light and slightly sweet oriental tobacco. Nothing flashy going on. Simple and straight forward.

FA Ozone- it’s taken me a while to get this in a mix and enjoy it. I really liked the single flavor test I did, but it is just so strong that it overwhelms things easily. I think .25% is probably the max you’ll get away with without turning it in to an Ozone recipe. Helps with the texture of “smoky” here, and also gives a little bit of boost to the leafy taste of the Absolute and Oriental.

DNB- it’s ashy. You know that already. I always think of it like sweetener or cooling agents. If what I have in the recipe is too much for you, adjust to your own taste and it won’t change the recipe much.

Garuda- Always gotta have me a Tobacco Absolute on board, and for this one I went with Garuda. It’s light and leafy, and really helps complete the tobacco taste that the Oriental lacks.

INW Turkish- it’s taken me a while to get past this just tasting like cream soda. I did a flavor review for it on reddit, and someone commented saying that they got something like a musty, old cigarette, so I tried to taste that when I tested it again. I think I can just maaaaybe get that. I don’t think I get it enough to ever use it as a base tobacco, but I tried to get clever with it here. Before I added this, it just felt like something was missing. I needed a tickle in the nose and some volume in the throat on the exhale. A little splash of INW Turkish seems to be helping a bit with that without making the whole thing taste like cream soda (which could totally be some weird thing that only I pick up on, so don’t let me scare you away from trying it.)

Simple 2 ingredient recipe that I’ve been on for a month or so now.

Lotta Latte (OSDIY) @8% Pistachio (TFA) @2%

Pistachio latte! The LL itself is a caramel flavored (kinda sweet) coffee drink. The TFA pistachio smooths out the coffee, adds a bit of creaminess, and a wonderful pistachio flavor.

You can vape it the next day, and it tones down in sweetness the longer it steeps.

In trying to figure out what to do with Cap Sl 27 Bears , because it taste so much like a white gummy , Make a white gummy!

27 Bears Cap SL 5%

Pineapple Sc 1%

Dragonfruit Tfa .75%

Vanilla Swirl .5%

Pretty straightforward here. The 27 Bears gives you a solid white gummy base. Just helped it out a bit with the others.

Sc pineapple is a great candy pineapple , it taste like pineapple gummys or lifesavers.

Tpa df adds some tartness and its also kind of white gummy like.

A little vs is great for a little chew in a gummy recipe , just a little though.

Sc pineapple is the Sc from bull city.

CBV VCT

 • TFA Bavarian Cream- 1.5%

 • CAP French Vanilla v2- 2%

 • TFA Toasted Almond- 1.25%

 • FE Tobacco Absolute- .5%

 • TFA Turkish- .5%

 • CAP Vanilla Custard- 5%

Steep it two weeks!

/u/BlameReligion sent me a little sample of Ripe Vapes’ VCT to see if I could help identify the tobacco used in the recipe. Upon opening the bottle, I thought Holy vanilla bomb, Batman. It was obviously a capital V in the name and a tiny T.

But anywho, I gave the thing a try and my first thought was TFA Turkish, but not super strong, and I got a little bit of ashy grass that made me think of FE Tobacco Absolute. As you see, I didn’t change my mind.

I eventually got busy with other projects and kind of forgot about the VCT, but then /u/BlameReligion gave me a little nudge to see where I was at with it, so I filled up a tank and took the real stuff to work with me. It didn’t really go all that great. The Toasted Almond that I’m fairly certain is in there is just a bit too much for me. Kind of tastes like it’s CAP Toasted Almond at like 2.5%. Just a bit too funky. And I reckon they probably use CAP Vanilla Custard V2, which I don’t have and don’t really care to have. Pretty sure the French Vanilla V2 is also in there, and I’ve never had v1, but I like V2 plenty enough to not feel like I’m missing out.

So I know this isn’t a 1:1 clone of the real thing, but I don’t think I’d want a clone of it because it’s just too much Almond for me. Might be ok MTL, but my recipe here works better for the way I prefer to vape.

Absolute bare minimum steep is 5 days or else the Turkish will be just a hair too up front to taste right. Gonna like your life a lot more of you just give it at least 2 weeks though.

Hello!

My first self made public post. I am primarily looking for improvement. I have been vaping for about 10 months, and started attempting DIY bout 6 months ago. I still don't have a good understanding nor a pallet where I can be discerning.

I make a like a bit more bakery in it. Like a cake or something. I have limited availability of concentrates. But do have access to the most common flavourings. CAP Cake batter maybe ?

There is also a small backnote, stem like. I think it could be the Dragonfruit ? I added the dragonfruit to act like a bridge between the cream and the fruit, not needed ?

I have another test mixed without SuperSweet and Dragonfruit. With 1% CAP Cake Batter.

Thank you all for your time.

I picked up the now discontinued INW Waffle recently when some vendor was clearing their old stock. So glad I did, IMO there isn't a better waffle. For those who don't have it, so sorry but there isn't a sub that I could recommend. For those that do have a bottle, and like cereal profiles, here is a dead simple recipe.

Waffle Crisp Cereal

ATF

ELR

 • Cereal 27 (Cap) 4%

 • Fresh Cream (FA) 1.5%

 • Meringue (FA) 1.5%

 • Waffle (yc) (INW) .10%

That's 1-2 drops of waffle per 30ml. 2-3 drops SS if desired.

1 week steep is recommended.

Here's an unfinished mocha recipe i'm working on right now:

Up-Choc

I haven't had much success with FA Up in the past, but I'm pretty happy how it works out in this recipe. Often it makes my mixes a bit too dry tasting, or overpowers other flavours. I've found the same issue with FLV Milk chocolate so that's why they're both at pretty low %s in this mix. For some reason I find TPA Bavarian Cream to be really strong, so I only used it as an accent to the CAP Sweet Cream at 0.5%. FA Almond and FW Hazelnut serve to make the mix a bit more smooth and creamy, as well as adding some nutty background flavours. The TFA Toasted Marshmallow is for added sweetness and 'body', it's that ingredient that I put in almost everything now... That said, the recipe could be a bit more sweet. I like putting 0.25% CAP Super Sweet in there, but it's up to personal preference.

|Brand|Flavour|%| |:-|:-|:-| |FA|Up|0.20| |FLV|Milk Chocolate|0.20| |CAP|Sweet Cream|2.00| |TFA|Bavarian Cream|0.50| |FW|Hazelnut|1.00| |FA|Almond|0.50| |TFA|Toasted Marshmallow|0.25|

Questionable experimentation

Wanted to do a plum tobacco. Bought a lot of INW plum stuff. Can't find any notes on some of them. Ran out of bottles to single-flavor test. YOLO, I'm going to make a mix with them anyway. It's a concept mix, and it still needs a lot of tweaks but the plum flavor is actually pretty good. Only steeped about a week but it's coming around nicely. Tobaccos haven't seemed to pop yet, though. Going to give it another week and see what needs to be changed but it's definitely vapeable after a few days once that Cavendish cat-piss smell fades out.

Interesting recipe. What about FA Black Fire in place of the DNB, if you're going for a little more smoky taste?

2 points

by amouthforwarabout 7 years ago

I get a mad strong hickory smoke note from Black Fire that reminds me too much of smoked salmon I got from my last trip to Alaska so that kinda tainted that concentrate for me forever lol. Maybe I can bend it away from the hickory vibe a bit with a dash of FA Oak Wood? Might try it.

A week after inception the original mix is actually really enjoyable but I did go rather heavy handed on the plum. I'll try a v2 with black fire tonight!

You are talking about the candy that pops when you eat it, right? I'm curious about your addition of cheesecake. For me, cheesecake doesn't fit the profile. I might try VT Fizzy sherbet for some kind of a similar feel to the popping, and I think the lemony flavor could give the strawberry some brightness.

I love that flavor, and have been working on a clone of it for months, though I haven't done an iteration in a little while. There is a bit of cinnamon in there, I was using CAP Cinnamon Danish Swirl to get that. Other notes are butter (I've tried both CAP Golden Butter and TFA Butter, not quite happy with the percentage in any batch) and Caramel (FA Caramel.) Also, for a "fried" flavor, FA Joy is essential.

The banana flavors I've been playing with are INW banana, LA banana creme, and TFA bananas foster.

Let me know if these ideas help, and if you get closer than I have, I'll happily vape whatever you come up with.

Xool

A deliciously cool coconut lime ice cream just in time for always, which is just around the corner.

This is my first post on r/DIY_eJuice. This recipe blew me away enough that I had to create a new Reddit account only yesterday in order to share it here (my previous Reddit account was canned several years ago when I impulsively deleted my linked email account, lol).

Anyway, Xool has a full flavor on both the inhale and exhale, with a particularly nice exhale via the nose. It has a quite thick and creamy mouth feel thanks to TFA VBIC and TFA Caramel, while simultaneously managing to retain a delicate tartness from the two fruits. The Koolada adds a pronounced dimension of crispness that I feel works well here; and that's from someone who once hated anything slightly menthol... I've previously had trouble using both the coconut flavors but here it is just magic... well, I think so anyway.

Do let me know what any of you think, and I welcome all criticism.

Note: I always mix 100 ml batches and scale up or down using percentages - I find this to be the simplest method. For measures below about 0.25 ml I measure drop-wise using either, clear plastic disposable pipettes for the flavors that my vendor ships in screw-lid bottles, or I simply drip from the flavor squeeze bottles. By my calculations there are approximately 40 drops/ml for the pipette, and about 36 drops/ml from the squeeze bottles; I just call it an even 40d/ml for both as it's easy to scale. 'd' denotes 'drops'.

 • TFA Caramel 1.5%
 • TFA Coconut Extra 0.5%
 • TFA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream 4%
 • INW Lime 5d (= 0.125%)
 • FLV Sweet Coconut 0.5%
 • TFA Dragon Fruit 4d (= 0.1%)
 • TFA Koolada 1%

I think I will try this one. Sounds good. I'm slightly worried about the low percentages, as I am mixing 80/20 and hoping that won't mute some of the flavours. That and the high VBIC. Then Koolada is not for me, it gives me a funny mouthfeel I cannot place, even at 0.5%. I've heard good things of Black Ice, I may just swap those two.

Thanks for sharing.

by [deleted]about 7 years ago

I appreciate your willingness to try it - sounds like there's possibly things about it that you mightn't normally like - idk, maybe I just read into your comment too much or something, yeah probably ha ha...

Let me know what you think. I haven't had anyone make one of my mixes yet and report back so I'm just as keen to hear if someone hates them or loves them (but I can't stand the agnosticism of ambivalence; there's nothing worse than "...meh, whatevs...", lol. Thanks :).

2 points

by Krayfish404about 7 years ago

Completely agree with that last statement.

I thought my koolada was off, until I tried another juice from someone, and I got that same mouthfeel. I spoke to a few people re Black Ice, they say it does the same, with no flavour, and no mouthfeel. If that's the case I will retry all the available koolada recipes. Nice to have a cooling affect but not using menthol. I don't "mind" the menthol but it does the same as what morning coffee does to some.

I'm a bit PG sensitive so I've had to mess a lot with percentages to get the flavours pop. Probably why after 3 years of doing the odd DIY now only I am getting some parts right. The first year I made raw sewage, or at least something close to that.

I've got 6 recipes saved up the past week, the moment I get to it and have some sort of success you'll know.

Shot again.

How many milliliters are you making when you add four drops of dragon fruit and 5 drops of lime? The percentages will all scale with the batch size, but we need to know the batch size for drops.

2 points

by [deleted]about 7 years ago

Thanks, I missed that! I'll edit my comment to show batch volume (which is always 100 ml).

I simply scale up or down using percentages and I find this the most simple method. For measures below about 0.25 ml I measure drop-wise using either, clear plastic disposable pipettes for the flavors my vendor ships in screw-lid bottles, or I simply drip from the flavor squeeze bottles.

By my calculations there are approximately 40 drops/ml for the pipette, and about 36 drops/ml from the squeeze bottles; I just call it an even 40d/ml for both as it's easy to scale.

Based on this I would say:

 • INW Lime 5d = 0.125 ml = 0.125%
 • TFA Dragon Fruit 4d = 0.1 ml = 0.1%

Does this help? It's simpler than it sounds.
