So I've been in the DIY game for 6 or 7 years using free base nic. Totally new to the salts thing though. Was going to order some nic salts to mix with, but noticed there were two different kinds, and no explanation of the difference on NicotineRiver's site. If I had to guess, one hits hard and one is smooth. Is there really much difference? I ordered some Milkman churros salt in 40MG, and like that. Any idea if that's using a "Hit" or "Smooth" salt? It does seem much smoother than Mr. Salt juice I bought at a local store in 45MG. Seems to be a HUGE difference in how those two give out a throat hit. Any advice? Thanks!
I ordered “Pure Nic Smooth Salts 100mg VG base” and “Pure Nic Hit Salts 48mg PG base” a few months ago because I didn’t understand what the difference was either. After trying both in many different recipes it’s just as you stated, the Hit Salts have that slightly harsh throat hit while their Smooth Salts have absolutely zero “hit” to them whatsoever. I’d highly recommend trying the “Pure Nic Smooth Salts” from Nic River. It’s incredibly smooth, flavorless and has a long lasting shelf life, far longer than freebase Nic. I personally haven’t had an issue with the Salts degrading my flavors
Waaaaay better than freebase Nic, doesn’t oxidize during steeping so no metallic taste whatsoever even after two month steeps, for me personally anyways
Same here. Tried benzoic acid based salts but they muted my mixes even at equivalent strengths to the fb I was using. I'd save my money next time! I can see why they are popular with ex smokers but the impact on flavour profile is too much for me.
I've been mixing the smooth salts from nic River at 35mg using in an eleaf icare2 pod vape. The throat hit is just right for me. Smooth but still there.
