Stomach burns from certain flavorings?
submitted over 7 years ago by BlowMyPogo

Am I the only one that get stomach burns from juice?

I am not sure if it’s from certain flavoring I use but it seems to be from one recipe only which is my Nuts&Cream clone. ( Almond(FA),Hazelnut(TPA),Acetyl pyrazine(TPA),Caramel(FA), Bavarian Cream(TPA),Sweet Cream(TPA), Vanilla Swirl(TPA). )

I say it’s from that recipe only and when I chain vape it I get those bad stomach burns. It also does it from time to time when vaping normally. If I stop vaping for a while, it stops. If I use my alt device with different e juice, it stops.

I don’t want to stop vaping that juice because it’s my favorite and been that way for almost 2 years lol.

So am I the only one suffering like that?

If you're talking about heartburn you might want to see a doctor. A leaking valve at the top of the stomach can be a problem. Certain flavors can aggravate it.

Just checked on google and that’s what I’m talking about. English is not my native language so I wasn’t sure how to say it.

Thanks for the advice, i’ll check with my doctor next time when I see her.

My fav flab was Lime Rickey, it did the same to me. Switched recipes to not have any citrus or banana flavorings and it went away.

Unless you are ingesting or tasting the flavors, I'd probably consider the lungs and stomache separate. You probably have some sort of digestional process, and the lung action while vaping is triggering it. "Some flavors can aggravate it" is really generic and has no sufficient evidence or proof. Might be dicetones or etc if your flavors have that, (i'd go check with a doctor for any under lying problems (omit the vape and see what the doc says)

also... post up that nuts and cream recipe!

The flavor doesn't need to reach the stomach in order to aggravate heartburn. Some flavors (both vaping flavors and normal food flavors) will stimulate acid production in the stomach. But you are correct, the advice is neither specific nor sufficient. I am not a doctor and wouldn't presume to give medical advice, just everyday common sense. Thanks for the correction.

I get the same with menthol and lots of pastry/creamy flavors. I thought it was nicotine so I dropped the level but it is definitely the flavors. Menthol is particularly hard on my stomach.

At least I’m not crazy. The only few of my friends that vape don’t get that so... I was thinking I’m crazy and there’s no connection between the two.

Same for me I can't vape menthol/creamy/deserts. I went to the doctor and he told me that it has to do with the gallbladder.

I had a super heavy cinnamon blend...after about 80mls in a few days, I had the worst heartburn. I thought I was dying at one point the pain was so terrible...especially when lying down at night ...which was my clue. Switched juice and it went away almost immediately. It is a real thing. Go easy on it and you will probably be fine. I can vape the cinnamonster here and there with no issues.

Yeah, I have 2 device that I use daily, and the one with nuts&cream I use it 80% of the time. I’ll try to vape it less but man I would drink that juice If I could lol.

Thankfully I don’t care for the cinnamon juice. I just have 30 ish mls lying around for when I am too lazy to mix something I might actually enjoy.

Do you have the recipe for the juice that is so delicious it is melting your insides?

Nicotine can also aggravate heartburn/acid reflux. If you really like this juice maybe you're hitting it a bit too hard/often - try dropping the nicotine down for this recipe maybe?

I’m already at 6mg but my other device is a Breeze 2 and I made 30mg juice with it and I don’t seem to be getting heartburns with that juice. I guess I could still try to vape less.

I used to always have heartburn, even before I started vaping. Since I started apple cider vinegar I haven't had any. I drink about 1 tablespoon 2-3 times a day, mixed in water. It's not very tasty, so I only use a little water, then drink plain water afterward.

Oh boy. I used to treat my warts with that and man it smells really bad. Mixed with water it shouldn’t be that bad, I hope hahaha?

I mix it with a bit of lemon juice as well, and I think some people use juice with it. I never really had a strong sense of smell / taste, so it doesn't really bother me.

I've read that the increased acidity closes the valve between the stomach and the esophagus, and that it's modern diets and lifestyles which lead to problems like this in the first place. I don't know about that, but it has definitely fixed my heartburn. And thank goodness, I had it pretty bad lol.

It's not just you. There's a handful of flavors that will give me a minor stomachache, and another handful that give me 'heavy lung'
