I was looking at nic riv and they want $14 for shipping. Looking around and would like some suggestions you can offer.

Yup this is what I was going to say. Get 2 gallons of VG, a gallon of PG and a bottle of nic and he will be set for a long time.

You can of course get it cheaper in larger quantities from other sellers, but Basedrop do great prices on 1L bottles.
Quality seems good, although I am pretty new at this and I've only had other PG/VG from Sydney Vapour, and I can't tell any difference from that.
For VG, best deal I've got was from Best Glycol. They don't sell PG alternatives, so I haven't bought any from them (and I have zero use for actual PG beyond what is in the flavors and nic, since I don't like pain). If you're a merkin, there's probably somewhere that will eat the shipping price. I believe some scam a free month of Amazon Prime and buy their VG there?

Keep looking lol they have 1 gal pg, 2 1/2 gal vg for exactly $50 and free shipping and that’s the perfect ratio of pg/ vg and win win you’ll have it for about a year an excellent investment! ...;) Also, it’s the cheapest anywhere..it’s only a little cheaper at Bulk apothecary But, don’t get free shipping there until $250 US so it’s not actually cheaper at BA, but BA will price match and guarantee lowest prices and shipping reasonable but shipping that much vg/ pg is heavy and expensive, so unless you’re buying ALOT $250+ Nic River best deal vg/ pg. It’s hard to find free shipping for that amount anywhere although Chefs shipping is very reasonable, like $5-7 US and to the US but not sure if that includes vg/ pg but those prices high, but they have a great selection of flavors and there’s no getting around a few of them you’ll need there bcuz no 1 place has everything although NR and Chefs has most, so for future reference when you need those flavors like holy vanilla, some Vape Trains fizzy sherbert and different Wonder flavors and FA custard, ( sorry for the lengthy reply just trying to be helpful) you can make your other flavor purchase at Chefs if u want. 😬
Essential Depot has a Glycube. It's 4 gallons of whatever combination of vg/pg you want. If you catch a sale you can get for about $17 (about $70 total) a gallon shipped.
I still think nic river is cheaper (I got a gallon for like $15) but not sure if they do bulk deals.
Can you verify whether nic river's is palm derived?
